For us this was the perfect place to stay in Pefkos. Run by a lovely family who could not do enough for you. The studios are always emmaculate, well appointed with air con, safe, t.v. and a small kitchen with cooker rings, toaster, kettle & fridge. The gardens are beautifully maintained by Sammy and Lee Beech is only a ten minute walk away. Look forward to staying there again. Jay & Angie , July 2022 xx

Absolutely great studios. Just returned from staying here and would return in a heart beat. Very clean and a great location on the edge of pefkos but still only 2 or 3 mins walk into pefkos. So many nice bars restaurants and supermarkets and a few sandy beaches which is quite rare in Greece

Hi,
Sadly just returned from Pefkos where we stayed at the Lia Studios - if you want a quiet relaxing holiday within a stones throw of a gorgeous beach and equally gorgeous taverna's then look no further - The Lia Studios were well presented, clean and Vicky (Housemaid) is friendly and accomodating and nothing is too much trouble for her. Bear in mind her hours of work are from 0800 - 1500 and off on Sundays so if you want Air Con on arrival on a Sunday you may have to wait - However the Supermarket opposite the Anixis Taverna rent fans for 10 Euros per week (+10 Euros deposit) far less for a days rental, which should suffice in the short term. We actually didn't bother with Air Con even though it was 34c plus while we were there.. Recommended Tavernas;
Anixis (Free use of pool during the day) , Nikolas just up the road heading out of the resort (no televisions playing incessant Sky Sports) and the Kavos down on the Beach with views to die for and owned by Maggie (English) and her husband. All have what we decided was the best food in Pefkos - everything was fresh and melted in the mouth. We loved it so much that we are going again next year and long term are planning to buy a property out there... Highly recommended

If you are thinking of booking to stay here after reading the positive reviews please think twice.

There are numerous reasons why I would suggest people not to stay here:

We have stayed here two weeks, and on 4 occasions in the evening we have not been able to shower before going out because there is no water at all. You can't even flush a toilet. Most times in the middle of the day had no water either. Every other hotel in the area has water tanks for when the supply is cut off. When we asked our host if he could supply us with bottles of water to wash, he said it wasn't his problem, even though we have a 9 month old baby. The worst part is, I have seen him every morning and evening watering his plants!

The room we stayed in had multiple power cuts, where we were left with no electricity and the host said that he could not do anything about it, and we would have to wait.

For 2 weeks air con we had to pay €200 in cash, there was no other way to pay. Probably so he doesn't declare it and can just pocket it. He would not let us have air air con on if we went out for dinner, so when we came back we had a boiling hot room and it would be impossible to fall asleep. If we left it on he would come into our room and turn it off! I worked out by using the wattage of the air con unit and and the most expensive energy tariff in Rhodes, it would cost €87 to have it running 24/7 for 14 days.

The room cleaning was sporadic at best. I would say that our room was not cleaned more than 50% of days. And even when it was done the standard was not great. Within 14 nights we had clean towels and bed sheets once.

We are a party of 7 and all paid 750 for accomodations and flights, our room was much smaller than the other 2 couples who paid the same price.

The apartments are listed as self catering, but in my mother in law's room the hob did not work and had no there facilities.

The hair dryer in my sister room did not work.

The studios had free wifi, but my dial up from 1999 would have been faster. Utterly pointless even having it.

The worst part about this stay was the attitude of the host. If we had any questions and issues, he would act like none of it was his problem. And that we just had to deal with it.

The man that runs these apartments is the most selfish person I have ever met in my life!! Due to the wild fires he evacuated to Rhodes and left new arrivals with no air conditioning they flew home the next day!! We had no water or electricity for 2 days so my husband found a tap and hose outside with water left in so we filled a bucket with a little so we could wash, he seen my husband doing this and another man so sent his wife over to empty it and watered his plants with it!! Also charged every single person different rates for air/con!! Your Facebook message are ignored unless it benefits them!!

My wife and I booked with Olympic Holidays for the Lia Matina Studios in Pefkos, Rhodes and stayed for 2 weeks between 12th-26th June 2013. Having stayed in Pefkos 7 years ago, I knew the resort well but had not heard of these apartments.
We arrived in the early hours of the morning and were led to the Lia Matina Studios. They are positioned in a secluded area and comprise of one block of studios with 10 apartments, 5 on ground level and 5 on top. Our apartment, no. 8 was absolutely spotless with a nice clean fresh smell. There was a kitchen area, bathroon with shower, 2 single beds, built in wardrobes, safe deposit box (very reasonable 20 euro,s for 2 weeks), a table and 2 chairs with a separate seating area with 2 double couches which could be made into beds. A double set of glass doors led onto the balcony which is positioned in such a way that you have privacy and the balcony is a fair size with table and 2 chairs.Thre was double glazing throughout with mosquito mesh on all doors and windows.Air condition is available.
Facilities in the kitchen included all that was needed in particular, fridge, kettle, toaster etc, things that you don,t always get as standard in Greece.
The studio was excellent, well done Olympic Holidays.
The Greek owner (Sammy) and his wife stayed in a house next to the studios and cleaned every day, nothing was a problem for them, bedding and towels were changed regularly and I can,t stress enough how clean and airy the apartments were.
The location was first class, just off the main road. Pefkos itself is a superb little town with an abundance of taverna,s bars and entertainment. Our favourite tavernas were "Mary and Ginas Fish Taverna" (not just fish, an excellent menu, chef is outstanding), try the stifado or kleftico, excellent and reasonable, Nika the waitress is a real personality, our other favourite reataurant was Anixia up past the Finas hotel, again excellent food, service and entertainment on a Friday when the owner and 2 barmen are the performers, a superb night.
The Olympic rep, Rebecca Wade, was second to none, she quickly resolved a minor issue that we had and throughout our holiday was pleasant, friendly, approachable and very professional, something that would be very reassuring if visiting a foreign country for the first time.
There are several beaches in Pefkos and the water is crystal clear. The bus service is reasonable at 1.60 to Lindos or Lardos in the opposite direction or 5 euro,s to Rhodes town.
We hired a car for 3 days, booked through Rebecca our rep and got 3 days for the price of 2. You can get it slightly cheaper elsewhere, but after a bad experience in Kos re car insurance cover, some companies state "full insurance", but this is not always the caseand I learned that the hard way so I opted for the safety and security of the company chosen by Olympic.
All in all we had a fantastic 2 weeks and haven travelled extensively in Greece we will be returning to the Lia Matina. A fantastic place to stay

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at Lia studio next to Finas. Sadly we were put in the older of the 2 blocks which is in need of a serious update. The furniture was shabby and the kitchen utensils very basic, not a problem for us though as we ate out in the many great restaurants. We could not get air con or safety deposit box for 2 days due to no available staff till the Monday. The towels and bedding were stained and not changed very often. Last year we stayed in the front block which was fine and the standard of cleaning was good unlike this year. Unsure we would go back unless we could have the front block which is a shame because it is in lovely grounds and as stunning views.

My wife & I stayed at the Lia Matina in September.arriving in the early hours of the morning. The accommodation was clean and tidy but we would have liked a bottle of water to have made a cuppa after such a flight and transfer. The accommodation is on 2 floors and even though we were on the ground floor, we experienced little noise from above. Only 10 apartments which made the stay even more private. The location down a lane a tucked well out of the way seemed odd at first but we soon realised this was an advantage. The room was cleaned most days with linen changed every 3 days or so and towels every other day. Sammy th eowner was on hand every day living in his house at the end of the driveway. Whilst there is no pool (and Sammy has no intention of having one), this suited us fine as we afre beach people and the 10 minute down hill was easy in the morning and really just about long enough when climbing up the beach road at the end of the day when temperatures were still in the 30's.

Standard of equipment was good with a working toaster and really cold and effective fridge to keep the drinks and provisions cold.

Dont concern yourself that there are a number of bars nearby, we often sat out in the evening listening to the music prior to retiring for the night and with the doors closed we never heard a sound.

I would recommend Lia Matina if you like things quiet and off the beaten track, whilst still being on the edge of the town.

We stayed at the Lia Matina 11th-25th July.

The apartments are modern and well equipped and were cleaned every day (other than a Monday) with regular towel and bed linen changes. The owner, Tsambikos and his family live adjacent to the apartments which is re-assuring if you have any probems.
The apartments are in a good location being only a few minutes walk from the main street and closeby are Smile restaurant and the Rock Garden & Peacocks bar. The beach is approx a 15 minute walk.
Air con was 100 euros for 2 weeks which is about the norm in Pefkos and the safety deposit box was 20 euros.
Whilst the apartments don`t have a pool, there are numerous nearby very good quality pools that can be used free of charge, but of course you are expected to purchase food and drinks if using these but the prices are all reasonable. We used pools at Angel Bar, Kelari and Oasis but there are many others available where you will always receive a warm welcome.
During our stay we weren`t effected by any noise from nearby bars etc and please note that Pefkos has strict noise restrictions which are enforced so that any external music has to cease at approx midnight. We witnessed this ruling being enforced. However, bars that play music indoors, ie Pefkos By Night, can continue until the early hours.
Pefkos has a good beach with warm, shallow and crystal clear waters that are great for snorkelling (make sure you take the opportunity to feed the fish, you will be surrounded by them!)
Note that there can be a few rocks, shingle etc as you enter the sea, but this improves the further away from the boat hire area you are.
On an evening there is a good and varied choice of restaurants offering a range of local and international cuisine at reasonable prices. There are also a few good music bars which in my opinion are best suited for couples and families.
This was our sixth visit to Pefkos and as usual we had a very enjoyable holiday with wonderful sunshine virtually a guarantee every day (it is hot, but that is what we go for !!). The people are very friendly and will always offer a warm welcome.
In summary I would recommend the Lia Matina apartments and the wonderful resort of Pefkos.

The apartments were spotlessly clean, well equipped with a toaster and kettle, two rings fridge and surprising extras from the hosts Tsambikos and his wife of tea towels, washing up liquid.
The apartments are located very central just behind the rock garden but were quiet and a great base for all Pefkos,.
Lee beach was a 10 minute walk - 5 minutes if you cut through the wasteland at the bottom of the property
I would return to these apartments I stayed in room three which was middle top floor and still had a sea view.

Yes Brian there is. A gate at the bottom of the Lia Matina Studios gives you direct access to the Beach Road. About a 10 to 15 min walk to the Beach.
