Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Tomintoul has no places of interest. Except for one (or more) overnight stay(s) at the "Gordon House Bed & Breakfast". It is a hospitality that is second to none. Lez and John really spoiled us and gave us an insight into Scottish life, joys and problems. It's not a routine running of the day-to-day business; you're at the family table! Thank you so much for the experience.

we experienced a very warm welcome of the friendly host. the interior is one of a kind and very much to our liking. room was good.. there is also the option to dine at the b&b.. which is great, especially after a long walk. breakfast was also very enjoyable. we'd love to come back. if we need accommodation in Tomintoul, we do not have to look for something different.

What a great place to spend a night or two! Les and John were super hosts, sharing their home with my wife and me as if we were family. We ate, drank, talked and laughed for hours. The house is like a museum, filled with lots of fun pieces and lots of love. We totally recommend having dinner with them - not only one of the best meals we've had in Scotland, but also a chance to really enjoy being in a Scottish home. The room, shower, location and all that we're brilliant, but it was Les and John who made this such a special time for us.

We experienced the most incredible welcome from the lovely Les and gang. Immediately felt at ease and would most certainly come back here anytime. Such fun, many giggles, very comfortable and lovely yummy food. We could not ask for more.

Les and John a great hosts at this quirky B&B. A Friendly and authentic Scottish home to base yourself whilst visiting the Cairngorms and further afield. It’s definitely worth booking dinner, you won’t be disappointed and all drinks are included (home measures)! Breakfast was great and kept me going for several hours climbing the local mountains. If you want to find out about the puppets, you’ll have to book your stay😀😂.

Our family of four just loved our stay at Gordon House. Genuine authentic Scottish food prepared by the lovely Les. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. The fantastic conversation around the table made for good laughs and loads of fun. We were able to spread out in the family suite which was warm and comfortable. Truly a lovely couple! We were delighted to have found the house with the purple door and hope to return in the future. Highly recommended spot!

We stayed at Gordon House for one night. A warmer welcome would be hard to find than we one we had from Les. Within the hour we were chatting like old friends. The whole vibe is relaxed and welcoming. Eating the evening meal with Les and John was great fun. Our room was clean, comfortable, spacious and quiet, everything necessary for a good nights sleep. We both had the freshly cooked "full scottish" breakfast.........it was piping hot and delicious. We would stay here again without any hesitation.

Great place to stay after a days cycling. Had an excellent meal with good food, wine and whisky all for £25 in the evening. Les was a great hostess, the rooms were comfortable and the breakfast excellent. Decor was quirky and fun - like the owners Les and John.
