As many others have posted I'd certainly recommend this place to anyone stopping over in Bihagua. Fine lodge surrounded by lovely gardens and the owner is brilliant, ensuring her guests feel very welcome and at home, frequently serving coffee and snacks. Rooms clean, beds are fine and probably the best hot shower we've had in weeks! The soda just up...

I arrived in Bijagua with a last minute need to stay the night in the area. I followed signs to Hotel Cacao and was warmly welcomed by the sweet owner of the property. I was able to stay for a night without a reservation, thankfully. The price is quite affordable and the gardens surrounding the hotel are beautiful. Very nice...

The hotel is nicely located, has spacious rooms, A/C and is clean. The queensize bed was a device of torture though, as it was way too soft and squeaked loudly every time one moved. The fun part was, when one of the 2 of us moved, the other woke up due to the squeaking and then had to change positions...

I absolutely loved it, the hotel is beautiful, the rooms are big, clean, very comfortable, and have very nice decorations. The location is great, just a few minutes from the local attractions and walking distance from restaurants, supermarket, and church. The staff and owner are lovely and very welcoming. The food was delicious, the best gallo pinto I've ever had....

Beautiful place. The rooms are clean, the people are super nice. We fully recommended. The area is awesome and we will go there again. So many beautiful plants and animals around the hotel. The owner of the place still emailing my daughter pictures of birds and animals.

This is a small hotel with fewer than 10 rooms. I think each room has 3 beds. I arrived without a reservation, traveling by myself, and was charged $30 per night. Lovely woman owner who is an avid gardener. Don't be fooled by the drab web site photo of the property. It is now beautifully landscaped. Property is 9 km...

We had a very nice stay at Hotel El Cacao in Bijagua. The family hotel is located 300m away from the noisy road and is having a marvellous garden. From here you have a great view to the volcano Miravalles and you will definitely see some rare species. We were lucky to see several Toucans, frogs, colibris, butterflies and a...

We stayed one night in this hotel, and paid 60 dollars with no breakfast! The tv didn't work and internet connection was slow and unreliable. The room was clean and the bed really comfy, but a little poor with taste and furniture. If we had paid half I think I would of given an extra star.

This hotel suited our needs perfectly! We didn't need 5 star luxury just a comfortable clean room with air-conditioning, and a great little soda 5 minutes walk away where we could have a basic meal. Bijagua is a lovely little town. The gardens of the hotel were lovely. Lots of birds and flowers. It is off the main road so...

This is a good base for a visit to Rio Celeste. The hotel is about 500m off the main road which means that it is nice and quiet. The well cared for garden attracts heaps of birds. A nice breakfast is served in the garden. The manager, who speaks good English, can arrange a “taxi” to the park for $15pp...
