Amazing!!

I booked this holiday as part of my boyfriend’s 21st birthday present and this was a good deal through Jet2. On arrival the hotel absolutely took our breath away; not only in a gorgeous location but the hotel is modern and the website photos don’t do it justice. However please note that this is actually Cala Tirant not Farnells.

We quickly got checked in and went to our room. There are a lot of steps so I wouldn’t advise it for anyone with mobility issues as I don’t think I seen a lift. The room was basic but good condition, definitely recently cleaned as we could smell the products they used and the bathroom had a walk in shower which we much prefer to a bath/shower combination. The hairdryer was fab and bath towels changed whenever we put them in the shower as instructed.

We found our sunbathing spot towards the back of the hotel next to the cliffs where it’s a lot quieter and you have the north wind on you to keep you warm. We did have a dip in the pool which was freezing so best to just jump in and get it over with!!

As we were bed and breakfast, we took advantage of the buffet breakfast to try and tide us over until tea time. What we weren’t expecting was the price of the drinks/food if we wanted snacks during the day.. On our first day we spent 50 euro on just 6 Malibu and cokes so we swiftly went to the supermarket to make our own! It is about 15/20 minute walk away so be mindful. On a night we ordered cocktails which were always fab and well made by Sofia, Masood and Rita. These three staff members made our stay here unforgettable… thank you so much you’re a credit to the hotel.

Nearby there’s only a couple of restaurants but we definitely recommend the pizzas from Es Cactus and a visit to Bar Okapi for their Picanha steak (well worth it).

The entertainment is fab and I’m not sure why people have complained previously. Soul Femme are a fantastic singing act and really get everyone involved. The Saxophone player was also fantastic and it was nice to have entertainment 3 out of 4 nights we were there.

It is a very quiet hotel and you weren’t allowed to make a lot of noise past 11pm which was fine with us as we went to bed around that time but there was a slightly larger and rowdier group that got a telling off a few days in a row.

If this hotel offered All Inclusive we’d book up again but sadly I don’t think we’d go just bed and breakfast again which was the only disadvantage this hotel has.

We are a family of 3; two adults & one 11 year old and stayed during the summer school holidays. Our stay completely exceeded our expectations. We had a one bedroom apartment at the side of the hotel overlooking the small ravine and with a side view of sea and bay. It was very quiet and although not a full sea view, it was not overlooked and just perfect. We cooked in the apartment, ate locally a couple of times and at the hotel evening buffet a couple of times. Breakfast and evening meal at the hotel, buffet style, was excellent; definitely something for everyone. Fresh fruit, local desserts and cheese, salads, local vegetable, meat and fish dishes and also chips, lasagne, pizza and pasta. The tables had a direct sea and pool view. The pool was never overly busy and much of the time, there were just 4 or 5 people in there. The room was spotless and cleaned daily, as were all the hotel areas. We had an issue with the fan on arrival, which was replaced immediately and also with the hob and once again, this was attended to immediately. The location is stunning; on the cliff top and excellent cocktails and drinks and reasonable prices to enjoy the views. The local beach is long but narrow and the sea shallow and clear. There is a lagoon/nature area at the far end of the beach with a bridge and terrapins, We found late afternoon/early evening to be cooler during the heat of August. There are pedaloes, sea kayaks and paddleboards to hire and a small number of inobtrusive loungers and umbrellas. There is a beach bar behind the beach for food and drinks but all in all, it is a very tranquil beach. We hired a car from the chap in reception and once again, cost was very reasonable and took only about five minutes. We took a trip to the Splash Sur waterpark, which was great fun and visited the lighthouse which had some great bays/snorkelling spots just off the road. We also visited a couple of the more well known beaches in the south (Cala Galdana and Cala Mitjana but actually thought the local beach at Es Fornells was better. The local bus service also looked very good and Fornells is an easy walk when the sun isn't too hot. We found the whole resort completely exceeded our expectations and Menorca itself is incredibly clean and easy to travel around. We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful and as with previous reviewers, although we don't generally return to the same place, I would easily return here. We booked through Tui and found the transfer and holiday to be seamless.

The place is lovely very nice, was reading everyone's reviews before we were a family of 5 children aged 18. 16 and 13 internet available everywhere which was good to watch films and listen to music. very relaxed feel do what you want, not much to do for teenagers but they loved the holiday plenty of walks and beautiful scenery especially at night looking at the stars , we had breakfast which was mixed hot and cold hot included bacon, eggs, beans hash browns, mushrooms tomatoes, lots to choose from and very clen and laid out nice each morning. can sit inside the restaurant or outside up a slope which is ok to get to with a plate of food and drink lovely view over the bay. few wasps around breakfast but found once you had eaten move your plate to the area where they clear the plates and they keep away. didn't ruin the holiday at all. we had food in the apartment cooker kettle and microwave plates cutlery and pans also eat out supermarket up the road had a pizza oven in the supermarket at the back. nice pizzas. also eat out but quite pricey for 5. about 105 euro's with drinks. nice cocktail bar up the road on the corner early bird cocktails 6pm till 7,30 nice drinks also do cocktails at the Tramontana about 10 euros each which are good and not measured even better. hired a car for 5 days which was good to get around and get big bottles of water, also cheaper food from supermarkets. went to different beaches which there are plenty and lovely can get busy especially peak summer time but we always got a spot, apartments cleaned daily and beds made, air conditioner in the main room and ceiling fans in bedrooms which are good and needed in summer. Towels are not allowed to be placed on beds which is very nice because there isnt lots around the pool but plenty in the other areas and more private then you can just go have a dip in the pool then go back to your bed. staff are very nice , overall we all had a lovely holiday and would return back,

We stayed in one of the apartments that was overlooking the swimming pool. It had all the facilities we needed (fridge, microwave, kitchen ware and pans, etc) so we cooked there a few times and we went out to the restaurants on other days.
The location of the hotel was nice and peaceful (we visited the island in September because we were going to attend a triathlon in Fornells that was cancelled so there was not too many people in the area at that time)
The town of Fornells is also not too far (ee drove there and it took no time, 5 minutes)
The staff at the reception was super friendly and gave us great tips about the area and the best beaches to visit or where to go running from the hotel (the Cami de Cavalls passes by)
If I return to Menorca, I would happily stay in the Tramontana Park again (let’s hope that the triathlon takes place in future and so I will have an “excuse” to visit again)

We particularly wanted a sea view, so we paid extra at the time of booking. It was advertised as a 'superior' sea view apartment. Yes we did get a sea view from the balcony and as luck would have it, it was quite private, however it was a sea view over the pool and over the roof tops of the apartments beyond, so not quite the unobstructed sea view that we thought.
The aircon was a real bonus especially as we got an unusually hot week. The wi-fi was also faultless, never dropped out once. Apt had a shower not a bath, plenty of hot water at all times. The apt had a kettle, toaster, microwave and a 2-ring hob, ok for snacking. The beds were very hard, but then I seldom sleep well away from home. If you go self catering you can opt for breakfast and/or dinner at the restaurant and its good value. The waiting staff deserve a mention, very pleasant and helpful. The complex is built on a hill, so there are lots of steps from the apt to the pool to the restaurant and to reception, something to consider if you have small children. Suggest if you are unsteady you should look somewhere else.
I would be in the sea everyday and tried to access the sea from the complex. There is a walkway of steps cobbled together to get down to the cove, but its somewhat precarious, certainly not suitable for small children. Safer option is to walk to the beach 10-15 minutes away.
If you are self catering you'll be walking to the beach anyway as that's were the nearest supermarket is located. There is no shop at the complex. Its a 10 minute walk by proper footpath to the beach and its up and down a few hills. Compared to other resorts the beach is very good. 'Dive Menorca' are at the beach and are very good if you want to try scuba diving. Can also recommend 'Cafe Del Nord', excellent restaurant. If you want to try exploring further out there is a very good bus service to Mahon for under 4 euros, the bus stop is only a few minutes from the complex.
Finally, If you want a quite holiday, pretty peaceful, the entertainment shutting down around 11pm, you could try Tramontana. If you want 'full English breakfast' at every street corner along with all the football in every pub every night you should look elsewhere.

This place is a gem- the apartments have everything you need and are clean, and the facilities and views are just beautiful. You can eat on site, or self cater. Our premium apartment had a sea view and was adequately equipped with cooker, toaster, kettle, microwave and everything you need to cook and eat.
We stayed half board and both breakfast and the evening buffet meal could not have been better. The food was just delicious and I am surprised where is not more mention of the buffet meals on here as they were exceptional value and lots of variety. The waiting staff were just lovely too! There is a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea to eat and watch the sea.
The hotel has a lovely pool and there is also a head land with loungers to enjoy the beautiful view while you sunbathe. At no time was there a morning rush for sun loungers and there was always enough no matter what time of day we got to the pool or the sea view area (lovely sea breeze there too so not too hot!).

The pool was not too busy - it was a lovely balance of laid back family holiday with evening entertainment that did not go on too late and could not be heard when doors shut in apartments.

We hired a car from a company who come to the hotel which was so straightforward and easy and there is adequate parking nearby.

Just the perfect holiday we cannot fault this beautiful hotel at all.
We travelled with 2 teenage daughters who absolutely loved it too. We do not tend to go back to the same place twice but I would go back here in a heartbeat.

Our family enjoyed two great days in this pretty holiday village. We had an apartment on the upper floor with a view over the pool and across to the wide open sea. This was really special!
The bar has friendly staff who make good cocktails. There is a lawn area where you can lay on loungers and chill, looking out to sea.
The apartment is on two levels with a/c in the lounge/kitchen area but ceiling fans in the bedrooms- this made it more difficult to fall asleep at night because it was very warm.
All the hotel staff respected all the norms re COVID-19- they were very diligent and professional.

Stayed for a week in May. This is good accommodation with friendly and helpful staff. We were originally given a poolside room, but this was a bit noisy for us if we were inside for a siesta, so asked if we could be moved to a quieter apartment, and that was sorted out very quickly without any bother. The apartments are good - basic kitchen facilities, but the bathroom was very good with a great shower. Beds also very comfortable. Air con in the living area at no extra charge.

The pool area was busy but never overcrowded, but it was a bit of a sun trap with no breeze because it's surrounded by buildings - the cliff top area had a breeze and some seats to sit under shade and admire the views. The setting is hard to beat with great views over the bay and a fabulous sunset. There are 3 restaurants about 5 mins walk away which offer good value, tasty food (only ate a couple of lunch times at the complex).

The Playa Fornells resort is very quiet. There's a couple of supermarkets nearby (one was closed on Sunday), nearest one to Tramonta is a 5 minute walk. The main beach of Cala Tirant is about 15 mins walk. The bus to Mahon (takes about an hour) is within a stone's throw of the complex. The village of Fornells is about 90 mins on the coastal path at the top end of the resort (wear sturdy shoes, be sure on your feet, and pay attention to the path markers as it's easy to wander off the track). The walk back on the main road is about 45 minutes (there's also a bus between Fornells town and the resort).

All in all, a nice place to stay with wonderful views.

Just returned from a seven night stay Family holiday, Our apartment was spacious and provided the essentials for self catering, hob, microwave/grill and fridge plus cutlery and plates, we did however upgrade to half board on arrival as we found most restaurants around the area to be closed, end of season, the only supermarket that was open was around a 15 minute walk away and provided the very basics prices had been over inflated, that said we never hired a car which would have allowed us to travel into Mahon etc and to better priced shopping facilities.
Our stay at the aparthotel was pleasant, staff were all friendly and helpful, breakfast and Dinner were buffet style offering a good mix of foods to cater for most tastes, during our stay we never struggled for seating, indoor or terrace overlooking the sea available and not rushed to clear tables etc, some entertainment in the form of live music over three of the seven nights we stayed, and always relaxing music played in and around bar area.
If suffering from mobility issues i would perhaps consider getting in touch before booking, access around complex area requires walking up and down multiple steps and there was little evidence of ramp access that i could see, Reception based just off main road then you make your way down through complex to pool, bar etc. All by steps.
I would visit again as the area seemed to have so much to offer, End of season though so we shoud have planned things a bit differently.

I was impressed by this hotel. Staff very friendly, helpful and professional. This hotel offers a swimming pool that is typically near to your hotel room, the hotel rooms were clean and with comfortable bedding. Eating wise there was three meals a day with a wide varied choice of food and drinks. I cannot fault anything about this hotel I enjoyed my stay.

I don't think there are any specific vegetarian restaurants but you could probably get something to suit. The hotel breakfast and dinner options are buffet style with lots of fresh options and I would think they would be happy to help. There are more restaurants in Fornells village but mostly based around fish and seafood.
