If you want something different this is the tour to take. We were really lucky and only the two of us were in the tour. That meant looking for dolphins in the wild. We got to see three families with small Dolphins. After the snorkeling at the reef was good. The best experience was a swim at a natural pool... More

Day trip with 6 anglers. The manager Sam was cordial and invited us to sit down to breakfast. Scrambled eggs, beans, black coffee and mango juice. I'm not sure if it was because i'd been eating at an all inclusive for the last 4 days, or the fact that I was a bit hungover😆, but it was the best breakfast... More

The Pesca Maya Fishing guides were referred to us by Dane Emerson, our long-time fishing guide at Crested Butte Anglers. The Pesca Maya arranged a 4 hour fishing excursion for us out of Cancun. From the moment we were picked up at our resort, to the moment we were dropped off, they didn't disappoint! We had a terrific day on... More

We booked our one-day trip through our hotel in Tulum to visit Sian Ka'an. A van picked us up at 6:30am and drove us to the entrance to Sian Ka'an. Drive was about 35 min. Our guide, Daurin, was waiting for us to take us by boat to Pesca Maya. Ride on boat was about 45 min. Pesca Maya received... More

I have just returned from a family holiday in Akumal, Mexico where I arranged a day's break away from the family fishing with Pesca Maya. Ascension bay has been on my bucket list and I always bite at the bit to go after bonefish. I was also keen for a decent sized permit, as up to now my record has... More

Great fishing despite the wind. The guides gave us the best shots possible under some tough wind conditions. We caught several different species including barracuda. We stayed in the Seclusion house with a terrific view of the water. The staff was wonderful, helping us in every way. The food was basic but very good. Thanks Senior Martin for a great... More

My wife and I went fishing in February 2016. We booked a day trip and had a great time! The reserve you fish in is miles and miles of wildlife! Saltwater crocks, birds, endless schools of fish. It's like pictures out of the fly fishing magazines... very beautiful area. Our transport arrived at 5:30 AM, we picked up 6 additional... More

Just returned from Mexico where we arranged a days fishing with Pesca Maya. I have fished with this company on a couple of occasions three years ago with great success so I decided to give them another go whilst on a family holiday in Akumal. We checked out their website for the latest day trip itineraries and costs. My friend... More

Hello guys: I am sorry about the bad weather. You spoke with my wife over the phone, sorry on the confusion on the pick up time, Akumal is always 6:15 AM, I am glad that the driver got there on time. Waiting for the couple that got to the dock was annoying, I understand but on the other hand it... More

Pesca Maya Fishing Lodge opened its doors on January 1996 and has quickly become one of the Yucatan's most popular fishing destinations and with good reason. The lodge is located 90 miles south of Cancun in the 1.3 million acre Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve. Situated on a long, narrow strip of barrier beach, the lodge is virtually surrounded by water. There are 11 rooms in 3 buildings, all with A/C and private bathroom with walk-in showers, most with oceanview. Located in a solitary white sand beach, turquoise water and a magnificent coral reef at 90 yards from the beach. Serious fishing, exciting tours, beautiful spots, nice and comfortable accommodations, good food and personal attention is our mission. ... more   less
