Arrival into the Kaya Mawa was a bit of a shock, as I came from the "Robinson Crusoe look alike" Mumbo Island, and the two could not be more different, so I missed the Mumbo. Kaya Mawa for me was "too sweet", too much man made to look nice or so I thought initiallly. The rooms,

Wow, what a magnificent property. The hotel placed me in the most beautiful room imaginable on an island. I had to cross a bridge to get to it. The room was stunning. The massage room overlooked the water, and the masseuse was terrific. The food was healthy and incredible. The

Everything, from the flight into the island onwards, was perfect. We were shown around by Ali and Oli (the new managers) on arrival, and our cottage was beautiful- huge, with a double shower and a private pool on the terrace. The food was just incredible, and the bar had a

Kaya Mawa was our short break between safari parks. Kaya Mawa is the most peaceful, restful, magnificent place to stay. We had the ‘mansion’ at the end of the beach. We woke to the sound of the waves. The lake, the accomodation, the food, the staff were beautiful.

Hi, Are you specifically requesting a room? They are all quite different, in all aspects other than they are all fantastic and on the most beautiful resort Msekwa - I didn't actually get to see, I think it is one of the smaller rooms as it is in the standard range on the website Nguni - situated on the second beach, however we thought it a bit small but it is very secluded, often used as honeymoon suite Nkhwazi- up the hill a bit, we were right on the top suite Mbwama - in my opinion the best, however Nkhwazi looked nice too, quite spacious. Good look if you can request a room & ENJOY

Hi there - apologies for late reply, have only seen your message now. Unfortunately not, the island is in the middle of the Lake, so can only be accessed by the Ilaria Ferry (an overnight trip) or by small Cessna plane (an hours flight).
