My first time in Mykonos. We choose early Oct to avoid the crowds and to get some rest. Weather was still warm but it was windy! Water was a bit cold for swimming but we managed.

The hotel arranged pick-up from the airport in a large bus. Arriving into the hotel grounds, you can a lovely view of Ornos Bay. As another reviewer described, the Santa Marina hotel is incredibly gorgeous. The grounds were well maintained and our room was beautiful.

Check-in was smooth. Checked our reservations and we were escorted to our room. As a Platinum member, we got a nice upgrade using SNA. We got a nice introduction to the grounds during our walk. There are lots of steps up and down. Our room, 133 was next to the adult pool. Our bags were delivered shortly afterwards.

Our room had a wonderful view of the water with a nice terrace where we sat in the mornings. The room had sufficient outlets/room safe/working desk if you needed to plug in. They delivered fresh bottled water every day (Aqua Panna) and nespresso capsules. We also had a nice welcome gift that we eat/drank.

As we were jetlagged having arrived, our first stop was the pool bar to get some cappuccinos. We had a nice chat with the woman working the bar. Frankly all the staff was friendly (chambermaids, front desk, folks working in the restaurants).

Breakfast was included and was a buffet with made to order eggs. This was a lovely breakfast, so much to eat and the eggs were wonderful. We had our dinners outside of the hotel but did have lunch and came back each night to have dessert in the two restaurants. Everything was wonderful.

Rooms were cleaned in the afternoon but I guess due to the late nature of the nightlife, the turndown happened at 10pm each night. Guess we were the only ones in our room by that time.

Checkout was fine, bill was correct and our arranged transportation was ready to drive us back to the airport.

Really enjoyed the hotel and the staff.

Stayed here end of August for a week. Booked using Bonvoy points. We used the hotel shuttle which is a good perk. We were upgraded to a sea view suite (think it was 233 but not sure) but the view was dismal, a tiny sliver between two buildings and the terrace overlooked the walkway and stairs so anyone walking could see into the room. We therefore downgraded to a sea view deluxe (166, avoid). The room proved to be overly noisy, doors banging, industrial machinery, voices from other rooms etc so I couldn’t sleep so we asked to be moved and after two nights Nikos at the front desk managed to put us in a fantastic sea view suite. Kudos to him for moving us, he really made the rest of our holiday.

We didn’t have breakfast and at EUR45 a person it just isn’t worth it unless it’s included. We ate at Buddha Bar Beach twice and it’s fine, don’t expect your mind to be blown even though you’re paying 3* Michelin prices.

The best part of the hotel was the adults only pool for us. The two girls working there Irida and Erini were fantastic, they really looked after us and were great hosts. The only issue with the pool is it’s really cold, probably 22c or less, as it’s sea water. So it was difficult to really enjoy it. We used the beach twice, again staff were fantastic, can’t remember their names but the head beach boy and the girl serving were great. Again the sea was very cold.

Gym was ok, not many free weights or machines but for a short holiday it works.

Keep in mind the hotel is built up a hill, some of the rooms require a good deal of walking up stairs to get to.

I’d like to mention the chambermaids, they did a fantastic job and were some of the loveliest ladies we have met. All in all most of the staff at the hotel were excellent. A few bad eggs here and there but nothing major and they were few and far between.

I can’t give it five stars due to the noise issues and the badly designed rooms, as it’s not perfect, but would I would probably return.

At first we were not sure we want to go to Greece. Our usual haunts in Asia or Africa were of limts this years and Greece was an obvious choice. As fans of Marriott hotel chain we faced a dilema which hotel to choose. We chose Santa Marina and what a choice this was! :) I did not have high expectations but the hotel and surroundings exceeded them.
Wonderful quiet resort with all the rooms facing sea, with marvelous sunset and sunrise. Hotel has a fully equipped private beach and sea is crystal clear with deep blue hue transiting to turquoise all the time. The water is refreshing and so clear that you can see several meters below. The beach maybe in times windy but it is not a big deal.
The best place to eat is directly at the beach and is called Budha bar. Their seafood is excellent. If you want a quit place then walk few stairs up and you will end up at Colonial restaurant with kids pool. This is usually deserted and the views are even nicer than from Budha bar.
Hotel has only 100 rooms and they are scattered on a small mountainside. You will always have to walk to the beach and use stairs. But that is not to discourage you, on contrary you will feel better after walking! All the rooms are spacious and decorated in white, blue colours. I could not find any fault. All of them have view of sea. You can go for also for suites with swimming pool or private villas.
We travelled with kids and they loved every minute of the stay. Prefered beach to the pool.
I must spare a word also for employees. Let me mention two of them. We saw him mostly at the Colonial resturant was it 8am or 9pm he was always there making an excellent iced tea...thank you Alexandros. I think this guy never sleeps! The second thumb up is for elegant Varvara also from breakfast and both restaurants. She probably does not sleep as well :) Lastly thanks to Nick from reception for a warming smile and being always ready to help. The rest were excellent as well of course. But these three made our stay.
If I was to pick up something negative, it would be level of English language in the Budha bar. It was very difficult sometimes to understand. All written Im 100 percent sure we will come back!

We highly recommend Santa Marina Resort in Mykonos for your stay!

We were picked up at the port by the hotel shuttle, with no extra charge! The driver was very kind and helped us with our luggages! Upon arrival at the resort, the hotel staff helped us again with the luggages and brought them to our room!

They also have a shuttle to Mykonos town around 4 times a day, with no extra charge, which is very important!

The breakfast area, the pool & spa area, the private beach and the Buddha bar Restaurant is nothing like we have ever seen. It was so dreamy! We are greeted with friendly smiles!

The breakfast was delicious! And the dinners we had at Buddha Restaurant! So many food options!

We had fresh towles twice a day! Our room smelled so nice and fresh but so did the entire hotel! Our trash cans were always emptied, beds were made daily!

The hotel staff is the best out of all the resorts we have ever stayed! They pay attention to the smallest details! The hotel is beyond spectacular! We would gladly stay at this hotel again next time we visit Mykonos. Thank you to the Santa Marina staff for exceeding our expectations!

We were scheduled to stay at this property in early June and booked a rate that offered full refund if cancelled just 1 day before our stay. Unfortunately our flight was cancelled and we had to cancel our stay. Instead of offering a refund, the hotel is only offering a voucher.

This is incredibly unprofessional behavior. For those who are thinking of booking this hotel later this summer (if Greece re-opens to travelers), I strongly suggest booking elsewhere. You will not get your money back if something happens to your trip. Do not trust the cancellation policies that are STILL on their website.

Worst of all, the hotel staff has refused to answer my emails and are being incredibly unprofessional. I am very disappointed with my experience and am surprised they call themselves a luxury hotel. They do not care about their guests and only want our deposits.

Dear hls77, Thank you for contacting us here at Santa Marina Mykonos. I am sorry to hear of any difficulties in connecting with our team, it is of great importance to us that we answer emails and telephone calls in a timely manner, I will certainly look into this further though. We are also so very sorry to hear of this cancellation and the unfortunate current situation we are all facing, though truly we had hoped that you would have postponed your booking to a later date during this summer. In regards to the cancellation policy, as per the regulation published by the Greek government, a credit voucher is issued, with a validity of 18 months in lieu of any refund or deposit paid in advance. This credit voucher is applicable for full cancellation without charge and If it is not used within the 18-month validity period then rest assured that Santa Marina will refund the amount in full, we commit to ensure that you will receive this refund in accordance with the law. I will be happy to contact you directly to discuss further if you could please send us a direct message with your contact details. Kind regards, Leonidas Anagnostou General Manager

In a summer where the theme for hotel pricing has clearly been "because we can", Santa Marina has nonetheless managed to distinguish itself as the supreme master of the ancient and hallowed art of price gouging. So much so, that I think the managers of the hotel should hold seminars for the hospitality industry on how to effectively fleece one's customers in the most spectacular manner possible.

There is one and only one possible reason you might want to stay here, unless you absolutely loathe the possession of money, and want to rid yourself of it as quickly as possible: if you must at all costs have access to beach directly from the hotel. The beach is quite nice (though really nothing special at all). Everything else about the hotel is shockingly poor for the price, and most of it would be just barely adequate at 20% of the price. The food in particular is so bad, that I write this review having just aborted an attempt at lunch, realising that hunger is preferable to what they have an offer.

Undoubtedly the thing that annoyed me the most: a hotel for which you are paying well over 2k euros a night for, can't even accomplish the most rudimentary task of ordering you a taxi. I called down to the reception well in advance of when I needed one (knowing that taxis are notoriously difficult to come by in Mykonos, especially at peak hours), and asked them to book me a taxi to take me to dinner. When I went down some time later at the time I specified, I asked the concierge whether my cab had arrived, and he very breezily replied "Oh, I'll just order one now!" If the wonderfully carefree nature of his response wasn't enough to set me off, it really sent me over the edge when over the course of the next 45 minutes he constantly assured me that the cab would be arriving in "just a few minutes" all the while seeming completely disinterested and unapologetic.

Avoid like the plague.

The hotel staff are very attentive, friendly and welcoming. You have a lovely beach and pool with some of the most amazing views of Mykonos. Mykonos social and Buddha bar provide a great variety and quality of food and the Buddha bar sushi is the absolute best! You are somewhat sheltered from the winds of the island here and I would recommend the suites as you can walk easily to any part of the hotel. The staff have time for all their guests and I would like to commend the hotel manager on his management of the resort. I came with my family of 5 and I hope to be back here again!

I don’t mind paying 4-5k per night for a hotel, as long as the value is there. In this case, better off staying elsewhere. The beach club is crowded and the budda bar food is inedible. A 34 euro burger should be decent, not the case. Service pretty good and attentive. The cabanas are packed in so that paying extra for a cabana placed you closer to other people. There are no health checks. People coughing are not asked to wear masks. I will write another review about the room. Mykonos, I am sure has more to offer than wasting a day at this beach. Food is terrible and crowded.

The Santa Marina hotel is incredibly gorgeous. The staff is very friendly, and very helpful, especially when needing a taxi. The breakfast is very well appointed and delicious. When we arrived we were a bit early for the room so we sat in the restaurant for a glass of wine and to take in the views. Mykonos is very windy, so you should be prepared for this. When we decided to move inside they were very accommodating. As we are a group of three, we had a roll away bed that was incredibly comfortable and felt like a real bed. The hotel has the only private beach on the island and it was very nice. Again the staff were very kind to us. We had lunch from the Buddha Bar of sushi, hamburgers, dips, and pita. Everything was wonderful. Thank you so much for providing us a wonderful Mykonos experience. To note! The hotel is less than 10 min taxi ride to Mykonos City and is about €10-15. The front desk will arrange a taxi to pick you up, there is no Uber services. I suggest renting an ATV! It is very safe and you can get for about €20/day.

My husband and I just finished a week at Santa Marina . This was our fifth time at Santa Marina and the experience is better each time ! We are fortunate to travel a lot and stay in luxury hotels and resorts , this beats all !
The entire staff welcomes you , treats you so well ( No is not in their vocabulary ) Makis runs food operations both efficiently and hospitably . The staff all work together , having each others back smiling wilst working very hard . Their expertise shows , every employee scans every table for a glass that needs to be filled , a plate removed any need a guest might require .
If I owned a hotel or restaurant , I would send my staff there to see them in action .
The location is beautiful , the rooms well appointed , the quality of food and drink is top drawer .
This is my happy place …forever
