We stayed here for 2 nights. We had been told that as this was a NWR hotel, not to expect too much but we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were immaculately clean, although the itemised list of room contents with a cost against each (in...More

My husband and I stayed here as part of a small group guided tour of Namibia. I was aware that of all the places we were staying in, this place received the poorest reviews. Consequently on our arrival I was very pleasantly surprised. The rooms...More

Plus: Gorgeous setting, Good location near Sossusvlei, giving you a head start to the dunes in the morning. Comfortable and very large rondavels. Minus: Government paid staff with little to no interest in making the guest feel welcome. On arrival there is a deserted parking...More

This is one of the better NWR lodges we stayed at within the national parks. Individual lodges are vary spacious, well enough equipped (no AC), clean and tidy. Food was decent enough. The pool was refreshing, but sandy. It was good enough. You come for...More

No, Sesriem is only about a mile (1.6 kilometers) away from the lodge. There is a tar road from the lodge to Sossusvlei itself, but the entire area around Sossusvlei is dirt and a decent four wheel drive vehicle is a must

As has already been said the sand dunes are not really visible as they are a long way away. With regards to the water hole we didn't see anything as we didn't even realise there was a waterhole!
