I stayed at St. Ronnans for about 4 months.
It is a lovely cottage to stay in very nice and quiet location.
It is always warm and clean with the hosts always there to help you and with a very friendly staff always there to help you anytime.
They make me feel that their priority are to do their best to be more comfortable to fill this place like my home.

Thank you for everything.

This property exceeded all expectations. It is clean, fresh, upscale, great location, helpful family, great breakfast; overall a perfect stay. Steven and Judith Tweed are the owners of this lovely home. They have 4 rooms available (unusual for a B&B in this part of Ireland). Two rooms are in the main house and 2 rooms are in the cottage outside. The cottage outside has 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, Kitchen with Washing Machine and a living room. We had flat panel TV's, skylights and towel warmers. The rooms inside the main house were just as lovely. One room inside has a fireplace and sitting area. The imain house rooms have a shared living room as well. Breakfast in the morning was cooked to order and there was plenty of food. No one went away hungry. This property has some spectacular views. However, the best thing about the property are the owners. Steven, Judith and their lovely family welcomed us like we were dear friends. They were helpful, friendly, kind and I honestly hated to leave them. As we left they stood in the driveway waving goodbye. Great travel is all about meeting wonderful folks worldwide. Do not hesitate to spend time with our new found friends at their fantastic property!

Absolute gem hidden away, top quality setting, fantastic host, massive breakfast, and it’s got great showers and really comfy beds, highly recommended to all out there.
This is in an area of great natural beauty, rural and laid back.

We ended up here just driving around trying to crash after a long day of driving the Northern Ireland area. We were welcomed so nicely by Stephen who even called a local restaraunt to see if they had availability for us for dinner. In the morning Judith cooked a mean breakfast which was delightful. She made so much for us and was just the sweetest. We talked for a while and she was so helpful with advise and tips. This place was a gem to find and I’m glad we did!

Fab little B&B/self catering in a lovely part of the world. Having booked at the last minute, we were in the self catering cottage for a couple of nights and the accommodation could not have been nicer. Good mix of rustic and modern amenities.
The family could not have been more helpful in terms of welcoming us.
Islandmagee is a fab place, close to Larne. Whilst the weather when we were there was horrible, St Ronans is handy for The Gobbins, Larne, Browns Bay, and Carrickfergus Castle.

My sister and I had a great stay here when we visited the newly opened Gobbins Walk. Very friendly family run business, great breakfast and rooms, so comfortable. Highly recommend this B&B which is more like a bijou hotel.

My husband and I and our 2 daughters stayed here for the Irish coastal Rowing Championships, We arrived late to be greeted by Stephen, he was so helpful and friendly regardless of the late hour of our arrival, he settled us in. In the morning we met Judith at breakfast, she couldn't do enough for us, breakfast was delicious with a very wide choice,

Judith took time out of her very busy schedule to advise us what to do for the day, and of course pointed our daughters in the right direction for a little retail therapy,

Next morning we had a very early start because the rowing, Judith gave us Breakfast at 6.30a.m.

and again both Judith and stephen greeted us with smiles at that hour of the morning and offered us a full breakfast menu,

If you are anywhere near Island magee don't stay any where else, stay here you wont be disappointed!!! Thank you Judith and Stephen you represent all that's good in the hospitality business!!!!

We arrived here just as the heavens opened and were greeted by Steven and Judith with warm, friendly faces and welcomed into their beautiful, inviting home. Our room was perfect and Steven and Judith couldn't have been more accommodating. Breakfast was excellent too (I just happen to be one of those fussy buggers about food but really couldn't fault anything). Whatever I say here really won't do this little gem justice, it's just perfect in every way, the location, the accommodation, the food and the family. There are a couple of beaches just a stones throw away - Browns Bay and Portmuck that were just beautiful and perfect for just pottering about. Then there's the Rinkha - you can't stay anywhere in Islandmagee and not go here for ice cream! I travel to Northern Ireland every couple of weeks and have stayed in a lot of hotels and bed and breakfasts and St Ronans is definitely in my top two - we will definitely be back!

During our journey in Ireland, we were looking for a place to sleep in the surroundings of Belfast. After searching on the internet, we've decided to book a room at St-Ronans.
To be honest, we didn't really expect a lot from this B&B before we left. When we were approaching the location, the environment didn't look very promising... but when we finally arrived and we were welcomed by Judtih and here daughter, we had to change our opinion. The rooms and dining room looked much better in reality than on the pictures, we'd seen before on the website. The only disadvantage, but Judith and her husband can hardly be blamed for it, is that there isn't a lot in the surrounding area to visit.
The next morning after our arrival, Judith's husband cooked as a very extensive breakfast... I think it was the most extensive one we had during our entire journey in Ireland. Judith's husband also took the time to have a chat with us; he was clearly a very warm and friendly man.
So to summarize : definitely a good place to stay!

Hi how far are you from the port. Do you take dogs, if so how many and how much. thanks.

Hi Gillian, I'm a reviewer not owner! Best to direct question direct to owners. Btw, can I confirm that we were very pleased with St Roman's! We travelled by train from Belfast and the owners picked us up from the station. Not sure how far it is from port. Owner has an old Westie so they are animal lovers. Enjoy!
