Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
Vangelis Hotel & Suites is lauded for its relaxing and modern atmosphere, with guests often praising its central location near beaches and shops. The adult pools and evening entertainment are highlights, although some suggest improvements in children's activities. While the rooms are appreciated for their cleanliness and space, issues with room allocation and maintenance have been noted.
The service is generally seen as friendly and efficient, yet experiences can vary. Amenities are well-received, but the food variety and sunbed availability have room for enhancement. Overall, guests question the value for money due to food and additional costs.

Detailed Reviews
We booked an all inclusive package from Tui with a sea view suite located in Building B. The room was large (42 sq meters) nice and modern. It was equipped with everything that a family of 4 would need. Large king size bed for the parents, and a queen size pull out sofa for the kids. The bathroom was also very modern with this free standing large tub and a separate shower cabin. The only negative about this room (for us this was a big negative) was that it faced the main strip in Protaras. All the night clubs and restaurants are located on the main strip and it is very loud until around 2 AM. So if you are looking for a quiet night to sleep, you will need to use ear plugs. Had we known that, we probably would have opted for different room in that hotel. This is why we gave it 4 out of 5 for overall rating.
The hotel grounds were well maintained and constantly cleaned, if something broke you would see immediate attention from the staff. The pools were sufficient for our kids, they had a lot of fun. For the adults, there was the 18+ pool, which seemed to work out fine for those that did not want to hear screaming kids. We made frequent use of the kids club, and thanks to Nastya (Nastia) our girls had a lot of fun and did not want to leave. In the evening the animation staff tried to get everyone involved in the fun and games. They would first start with kids and later focus on the adults. No issue for us in getting a sunbed at 10:00 or 11:00, we did not need to get up at 7 in the morning to reserve one.
Food selection was sufficient for both breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Every day there was a different theme so that you would actually see something different to eat. Some food items were constant, but in general there was something for everyone. The chefs also answered any questions regarding food allergies.
Bars also did a good job in serving the customers. The alcoholic beverages were always good and not watered down.
The hotel is not located on the beach, but the beach is less than 10 minutes walk. It is a sandy beach and the water for us was perfect temperature. To rent a pair of sun beds with an umbrella it was 7,50 EUR per day.
Free WiFi worked well in all areas of the hotel.
To my observations about 60% of guests were British, 30% Scandinavian & German, and 10% Eastern European.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and personally would return again, but for sure I would consider a room that does not face the main strip.

We booked to stay here for 10 nights with our 3 and 1 year old. We had the best time. The hotel is lovely and clean and the staff are amazing. There is something to eat for everyone on the restaurant and the food is all fresh and constantly being refilled. The staff make sure people wear gloves and masks in the restaurant areas too which is very good. The chef who cooks the omelette was amazing and remembered me everyday and always so my omelettes just the way I liked!
The pool area is kept clean at all times and the Bart staff at the pool area are amazing. Wide variety of drinks and ice cream available. Snack bar is a little bit rubbish, could be a bit more variety but still ok for a quick bite throughout the day.
The rooms are cleaned daily and towels changed. Air con worked perfect. We had a one bedroom suite which was amazing and the staff happily accommodated us with cots for the children. We were in room 4103, which had a pool view, the shower leaked quite a bit under the shower door but we put towels down to stop this and they were changed the next day. The hotel is modern and updated and in a perfect location on the Protaras strip.
We come to Protaras every year and we have already booked to come back to this hotel in June next year we enjoyed our stay here so much.

My partner and I stayed for the first time June 5th-15th 2023, the hotel is tucked away off the main Protaras strip, perfect location, our room was modern and clean positioned at the rear of the hotel, we encountered no noise from the main strip, we had a small fridge with complimentary fruit on arrival, we bought our own drinks and kept chilled throughout, we went on b&b basis as we wanted to eat out and enjoy the nightlife so unable to comment on the evening entertainment and additional dining, we can however comment on the breakfast which had a huge selection and thoroughly enjoyed what we ate, no queues and we went both early and late between 7-10am. The rooms were cleaned/towels changed daily, there is a button on the wall which you press as option of clean room or do not disturb. The staff were all very polite, we had no water one eve, reported and rectified in 10 minutes, shower lovely and warm, only issue the shower door did leak so we put a bath mat down which did get sodden, this has been brought to the attention of the hotel so hopefully going forward will be rectified. we bought occasional drink whilst round the pool, this was paid at the end of our stay, reasonable, Keo beer £3 euro a pint, we had a full body massage in the hotel, reduced prices for guests and very relaxing, would recommend. I would suggest taking coat hangers if you like to hang your clothes as not many provided, we would recommend a few trips, the catamaran, we went on the 4-8pm trip, food and drink provided, swimming and music it was great , also truck trip to the mountains and dancing waters, all tickets were bought a few doors up and some cheaper than buying directly… all excellent, we went paragliding which was great it was £35 euro each but an experience we wanted to do, photos are taken during the experience for you to purchase additionally (optional) at a set price of £20 euro, overall a fabulous holiday and hotel for the price we paid. Finally a special mention to the reception staff Mariah and Eva who were polite, friendly and always helpful.

Block 2 undergoing renovation work, beginning at 07.30 and throughout the day, banging drilling etc.
The ground and first floor of block 2 is undergoing renovation with works starting at 07.30 continuing throughout the day, banging, drilling etc, being on holiday should be relaxing and I believe that this block should not be in use. There was no advanced warning when booking this hotel with EasyJet Holidays. We don’t stay in our room all day but like to get up at our leisure and go to the beach, then before going out in the evening we tend to come back to the room for some chill time sit on the balcony for a while then get ready and go out but unfortunately the works seem to still be going on. The room itself is lovely, cleaned daily and has a good comfy bed, the pool is great although we prefer the beach the one occasion we did sit by the pool and was going to have lunch at the pool bar we were told we couldn’t purchase food as it was only for all inclusive guests, although there was a qr code on each table that accessed a menu. We were leaving to go for lunch in a nearby bar and asked reception about this and they said we could buy food, we went outside the hotel anyway, as we are only bed and breakfast (due to us preferring to go out and eat at different restaurants) I can only comment on the breakfast choice which I must say was extensive and of good quality. The staff are polite and helpful and the location perfect.

Arrived 8th August for 11 nights.
Pros: lovely pool ideal for my children aged 11 and 2. Pool bar staff were lovely and friendly especially to Mia my 2 year old she was known as Miss Lemonade always went the extra mile with her.
Lobby bar Chris was brilliant went extra mile to make me a lovely baileys cocktail on several of the nights.
Reception staff were friendly and happy to sort out any issues / queries.
Breakfast and the omelettes were lovely freshly made each morning.
Cons: I don't think the hotel is big enough to be an all inclusive more suited to half board / full board.
Lunch and evening meal were very samey a lot of people give excellent reviews on the food however we were not as keen. Theme nights each night and unfortunately Arabian, Mexican, carribbean etc were not really our thing. The best night was Around the World as felt this catered to more British tastes.
Sunbeds yes I was one of the gulity party getting up at 6 each morning to reserve 4 sunbeds in my defence this happened 3 days into the holiday as by 7am beds were very limited again sun bed area not big enough for the volume of guests.
Rooms were not thoroughly cleaned each day bathroom counter and dressing table was never wiped over in the whole of our stay.
The cost of our holiday was fairly expensive and I would have thought we would have been allocated a much more spacious room with a better view however we were in block A room 1104 with no outside view whatsoever and a tiny room for 4 of us when there were couples who had a 1 bedroom suite with a living room.
Al A Carte restaurant I can't understand why people rave about this. The menu was bizarre I don't class myself as a fussy eater however there was nothing on the menu that I could eat in full.
The actual pool bar you have to pay for any food here the only free snack bar is next to the adult only pool and the quality of food from the food that you pay for is considerably lower standard.
No drinks in fridge at all one bottle of water when you arrive if you wish for anymore you have to pay for again never had this type of experience in an all inclusive hotel.
We have eaten out several times on the strip Island Affair food was lovely, Avli again lovely food. Our favourite was Nameless Bar which is a further walk as is off the strip.
Protoras is a beautiful place and I will definitely return just not to Vangelis.

Dear Valued Guest, We would like to thank you for choosing us for your holiday and sharing your experience with us. Our goal is to provide always more and better for our guests, so we are reading sadly that we could not reach all your expectations. Indeed, a lot of our guests gives excellent reviews on the food quality. We create different theme nights to provide more variety for our guest, unfortunately we could not reach your taste. In this case our chef and his team would be happy to assist you, we really wished to be informed while you were here. Giving more attention for your needs from the housekeeping and from the kitchen are something we could have arranged easily and happily. Regarding room allocation, we do have different types of rooms and our guests can book what is more convenience for them. More spacious one bedroom suite with a living room, or one bedroom suite. I am glad to notice that among corrective lines you could enjoy our high quality cocktails and friendly, helpful service. We wish all the best, stay well and safe. My pool view and limited sea view suite (3106) was incredibly spacious, modern and well-equipped, with plenty of UK-type sockets.
Food was abundant, with a massive selection of freshly prepared, delicious meat, fish and vegetarian/vegan dishes, as well as a hot grill for you to choose how/what to have, plus a selection of the usual junk for those who can't get enough of chicken nuggets, fish fingers, chips, sausages, burgers and pizza squares.
I only drank sparkling water with my meals, none of which was charged to my room.
Check out at 12:00, but they have a locked luggage storage room for those departing late in the day, as well as a Courtesy Room for showering and dressing, with towels, toiletries and hairdryer.
I didn't visit the indoor pool, gym, sauna or steam rooms, but they looked incredible.
Pool towels provided free of charge and replaceable every day.
Beautiful main pool, a children paddling pool and an adult-only pool in pleasant surroundings, set back away from the noisy main pools (which was very welcome).
All communal areas were cleaned regularly and looked pristine all the time. Teams of cleaners would descend in the early hours of the morning onto the pool areas to wash and brush floors and loungers.
My only gripe is that the initial chambermaid had 2 days off and the replacement lady didn't wash the floor or bathroom, didn't make the bed properly and didn't even change towels on her first day. She did improve on second day after I complained to Reception, but still no floor cleaning, so there was a dead bug, fluff, hair and dirt marks left on the floor for days.
Despite that, I would happily return to this Hotel, which is a 5 min walk from Fig Tree Bay (one of the best beaches in Cyprus).

We returned to Vangelis hotel & suites for our 3 time this year. Upon arrival the receptionist had remembered us from our last visit and she was very happy that we had returned. The reception was exceptionally clean as it was previously. We had asked for a quiet room but upon arrival of our room we opened our patio doors to be deafened by the Air conditioning units from main hotel. We had noticed that people were placing towels out in the evening for the following day. This was so unfair, as the previous years that was totally prohibited. The same was happening as early as 5.30am too! We noticed that when we went for early morning walks and swim on the beach. When I mentioned this to reception they explained that there had been so much trouble over this. When the attendant removed towels the guests became extreme angry and confronted them and reception too ! I find this disgraceful as there are plenty of signs stating that reserving beds is NOT allowed. Something MUST be put in place to stop this in future. In the Adult only pool we found that there was a rather thick dirty scum mark that covered the whole of the upper pool. We did mention this to reception and it was cleaned but not until the 12th day of our holiday. We noticed that the pool areas were not cleaned to the standards in previous years which is very sad. The cleanliness was the reason we had returned to Vangelis for the past few years. The restaurant was still the same as before and the food and staff were every bit as delightful. On all inclusive we had Limited cocktails !!! This wasn’t mentioned upon arrival. We had found out that certain cocktails were taken off the all inclusive only 1 month prior to our arrival in September! This meant that most of the season they had been on the inclusive! We were not given an adequate explanation of why they had been removed…. Overall our holiday was fab but I’m not sure we will return to Vangelis next year and this is so sad as we very much fell in love with the original Vangelis hotel and suites!

Amazing 10 days spent at Vangelis, out did all expectation!
Perfect location, minutes walk from 20 or more top class restaurants, gift shops, bars and the most beautiful beach we have ever been to ( Fig Tree Bay) the water was absolutely crystal clear, warm and shallow, my 3 children loved snorkelling and seeing the hundreds of fish darting about! Perfect beach..boat trips from the harbour highly recommended also.
The hotel itself was spotless, rooms clean and spacious... we were B and B, the breakfast buffet had something for everyone from pancakes to porridge, Marina the hostess was absolutely lovely, always had a smile on her face at the diner entrance and a warm welcome.
No noise disturbance at night and very comfortable beds with black out curtains.
The pool was spotless and the perfect size and depth, organised pool games on daily for the children, music and a great poolside atmosphere. There was a small pool for toddlers with a slide which had a big shaded canopy.
This hotel has thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable, safe and pleasant as possible. Well done!
We will most definitely return, hopefully in the very near future!

We stayed at the Vangelis Hotel and Suites for our family holiday and we absolutely loved it! It was our first time staying in a hotel instead of a villa and we did our research before booking and chose the Vangelis based on reviews, it’s location on the main strip and its close proximity to the beach. It also worked for us as a suite could fit in our family of five where as in most other hotels we needed 2 rooms.
The rooms were huge! Modern, clean, bright and airy with working air con. Cleaned daily by the housekeepers with refreshments like tea and coffee topped up. Fresh towels everyday too. There is a card scheme for pool towels too so you could hand in your cards (provided at checkin) in exchange for towels and then return them at the end of the day to get your cards back meaning fresh pool towels each day. Being on the main strip, we could hear the noise in our hotel room from the bars outside but it’s expected when booking a hotel in such a central location. And it wasn’t so loud that it disturbed us. We quite enjoyed listening to the bar music from our balcony!
The pool is superb, a great family feel (there is an adults only pool for those wishing to escape the children and lilos!). The small kids pool is perfect and under a canopy giving shade all day. As it got busier, sun beds were busy but I noticed the staff bringing extra beds over when needed if they were all taken.
The pool bar is fab, loads of variety and the best milkshakes for the kids! Snack bar was also fab with a range of daytimes snacks including toasties, pizza, burgers and chips.
Anthony and the rest of the entertainment team are an asset to the hotel. Lots of activities during the day for all, although my husband was not impressed that he couldn’t beat Anthony at table tennis! He’s still blaming the slight breeze for his demise! Evening entertainment consisted of a kids disco, an evening act (dancing, fire throwing etc) and bingo.
The buffet food for breakfast, lunch and dinner was divine. Different food every night, a kids section and more puddings than you could imagine. Restaurant staff were lovely and helpful :-) only negative for us would be that you enjoy one night for free in the a la carte restaurant on site, but the food there wasn’t our favourite and didn’t live up to the buffet food at all!
Reception staff were lovely and helpful, we were delayed in arriving by over 24 hours and ended up arriving in the early hours and they had kept some sandwiches, cakes and tea/coffee for us.
The hotel is in a fantastic location, it’s surrounded by bars and restaurants with a stones throw from the beach. Boat trips are just down the road and it’s only 20 mins from the water park and ayia napa.
All in all a fantastic holiday, in a fantastic hotel. We will most certainly be returning :-)

We travelled as a family of 6, 3 generations from 18 to 74. We all had a wonderful time. We travelled with TUI and everything was good. We had requested adjacent rooms in advance along with a couple of other requests which the hotel fulfilled.
Check in was quick with cold drinks available and we were shown to our rooms by a porter transferring our luggage.
We found all the staff helpful and very friendly. Special shout out to Justus in the lobby bar who looked after us well during our two week stay, keeping our evening cocktails flowing (best cocktail menu we have ever experienced on an all inclusive holiday, some had an additional charge but large choice of inclusive options). We spent all of our days by the adult only pool where again the pool bar staff looked after us well (thank you Nicole, Paraskevia, Theodora and Christina).
We never had a problem getting sun beds and we easily changed the pool towels every few days. The family pool never looked too busy either. The rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard.
We found the buffet restaurant at all meal times very good, always managed to get a table easily either inside or out, and drinks table service at dinner was good. We ate at the speciality restaurant once during our stay which was also very good. We also ate out a few nights with lots of restaurants in the main street to choose from.
Nice sandy beech across the road, with plenty of watersports to choose from. We did parasailing which was great fun and reasonably priced (€40 per person, with photos taken and emailed to us for a further €20).
Thank you Vangelis for a wonderful holiday, we highly recommend and would definitely return :-)
