This is a lovely family run hotel. The location is perfect in Pernera with plenty of bars & restaurants on your doorstep. The poolside rooms have sea view as well.
The reception staff are great, always ready to help & have a chat - Anastasia & Christine.
Rooms are big & clean & have everything you need.
Rooms could do with an upgrade as they are dated but other than that, no complaints.
I’ve been going here for years and like everywhere, was hit hard by the pandemic but they’ve managed to keep their standards.
The pool area is lovely and clean with plenty of sun beds. This year was a different man running it - Jimmy & it was spotless with good freshly cooked meals.

If you’re after a good, clean no frills base, this is highly recommended.

I stayed at the hotel for a couple of days in August 2023. The room was spacious. the staff was very very friendly and helpful. the location is very good. You can find everything nearby. In less than two minutes you will reach the bus stop to go to Protaras Center, and in less than three minutes you can reach the beach.
The cleanliness is not the best thing at the hotel. Unfortunately, this is the only thing that ruined our stay.

Don't generally write reviews however ready the ones on here felt I had to.
We live in Paphos and decided to do a mini break to the East Coast, got this hotel through booking.com .
If you are looking for 5*accommodation then maybe this is not the place to go but it does not claim to be, it is a good , clean and friendly hotel ,our room was clean but dated as are many hotels in Paphos and I am sure here on the East coast. I can only assume their policy regarding WiFi has changed, indeed truly amazed as we went up to java lounge on the main road several times and we we're still connected to the hotel WiFi with good signal.
The pool area is very pretty with a great pool safe for children at one end and spotlessly clean
I cannot fault this hotel at all.
Also had the bonus of a free carpark and is close to the beach area and walking distance to Protaras (20 mins)

What makes this place special is the people that work here.

The rooms are big, the self catering equipment is more than ample and everything is clean.
Some rooms are a bit dated but you don’t come on holiday to be in your room.
One of the best pool areas in the vicinity.
The location is close to a lovely beach and plenty of places to eat if you didn’t want to go into Protaras.

But the real joy is the people - Christine, Anastasia, Andre & of course the owners, George & Xenia. They go out of their way for returning guests and nothing is an issue.

The worst nights attempted sleep I have ever had. The beds are like concrete slabbs. The facilities are lacking in almost every area.
There are levels of basic and this is both lacking in comfort and practicality. The Apartments are spacious but extremely minamalist and dated. Shower facilities and toilet facilities very basic, loose toilet seat, narrow bath shower made for a very uncomfortable stay. They have the space to make this something special, but haven't. Would not stay again.

We had 10 days there earlier this month and were very well looked after. We could not fault the staff who were all very cheerful and helpful and we had a thoroughly relaxing time. Unfortunately, although the hotel was full, guests (who appeared to be mainly Russian) were not making use of the excellent bar and restaurant, preferring to eat in their rooms so it meant it was uneconomic for Sam, Sue & Serge to set out the featured buffet breakfast which is shown on the website. We still had terrific breakfasts each day but this type of tourist is killing the resort! So many restaurants and bars were empty each night and you felt guilty walking past as the staff were desperately trying to get customers. The Steak & Ale pub owners, along with quite a few others have decided not to open this year as it is financially crippling for them to staff the place when so very few people are eating out. I feel for Protaras, especially the Pernera area as we have been going there for approx 15 years and have never seen the bars and restaurants so quiet. A combination of all inclusive holidays and stay in their room tourists who do not spend money is slowly changing the face of this part of Cyprus and it's a sad sight to see!

My party of eight were due to stay at the Seagull from the 08/10/13. A few hour before we were due to arrive we were informed that the tour operator who own the hotel had over booked and therefore we were to be relocated to the Crown Resort around the corner.
On the promise of better accommodation we reluctantly accepted.
The Crown Resort is the worst Hotel I have ever stayed in however according to George the Manager of the Seagull he had done us all a favour and wanted no more to do with us.
I have nothing against this hotel but please be aware that if they get a better offer you will be dumped just like that. I thought this sort of barrow boy behaviour had stopped in Cyprus however I think George has returned to the bad old days. A nice hotel just be careful of an unscrupulous Manager with no honour. I will be taking the matter up with the CTO accordingly.

The location of SeaGull is good, not too far from the beach, and has very good cafes around.

The building is quiet old and very old fashioned, it has a nice pool and a bar that they have local beers not too expensive.

The moment you enter the rooms, is like a time machine that takes you 20years back, everything is old (very old) and very depressing.

There was nothing special with the breakfast, very simple things, and is worth to mention that they don't serve dinner..you need to go restaurants around which may cost a lot.

Overall, with the same price you can rent a better hotel/apartment in the same area.

The hotel was fine, but I was horrified to see a tourist stamping on a sleeping cat outside the hotel one night!
Luckily the beach was devoid of fishes when I went there, but the sea had plenty of them in it. Just as well, because fish don't live long on the beach, bit hot and dry for them.

My apologies to the previous reviewer for this review, I couldn't resist. ;)

Tripadvisor, remove if it offends, but it seemed unfair for a reviewer to tell people to stay away from this hotel because of dead animals, even animals that appeared to be dead and because the sea had fishes in it.

We have been to the Seagull hotel for many years .....the friendship given by owners and staff is exceptional.
The rooms may have needed updating but this is being resolved this winter.
The cleaning staff are extremely reliable and friendly and the rooms are cleaned to a very high standard.
There are plenty of sunbeds for everyone around the pool area with well kept gardens.

Speak or email George at the hotel and he will arrange transport for you at very competitive cost. We have done this for many years and have never been let down.
