My traveling companions, my family, arrived here after dark. You can imagine our surprise as we pulled up to the gate and saw several people crouched around a burning campfire. It was almost surreal, as we passed them and then drove up the long road to approach the main building. India is chaotic, to put it bluntly. There are people...

This is a charming place in Gwalior. It is very quiet and it may surprise you when you arrive to check in but it is a nice hotel place to rest. We enjoyed the large room, the great garden view and a very good meal with friendly staff. This place was great after a busy day visiting the area, a...

We arrived and were stunned by the beauty of this hotel and the rooms. I wish we'd spent an extra night here. The rooms with verandahs are particularly beautiful as is the garden and the staff is wonderful! The food could be improved and I would suggest keeping it completely local, nit too spicy and less exotic.

The staff it's really nice and kind. We were there for two nights, one of them December 31st. They organized a nice gala dinner in the garden with dj music, which, sometimes, was a little bit too loud. The structure is amazing, beautiful gardens and 3 temples. Rooms are nice but, in the period of stay, quite cold. The shower...

One of Neemrana's best property. Reaching there itself enhances the experience as the roads of Gwalior have a different flavour of their own. But be prepared to witness magic once you arrive. The greenery and the monuments inside are just too good. Narainji and team ensures that the good time continues. Highly recommended!

Location - A lot of people might think that deo bagh is away from the city, however this is not so, it is pretty close to the gwalior fort and other places of historic interest. Property - Historic and charming. The property is an erstwhile mahal and still boasts of cenotaphs and temples. The rooms also reflect the same old...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Awaken history in a Char-bagh where Mughal emperors once camped ! History has it that in the late 1500 AD important Mughals camped in this “char bagh” with a stunning chhattis-dari (36-pillared pavilion) at its heart. This shielded the women in its underground chamber during the summer. Later, as the conquering Maratha army marched towards Delhi, the Jadhavs took possession of this natural water catchment area. Sardar Deorao Bhausaheb Jadhav and his son Sardar Krishnarao Deorao Jadhav used this 'bagh' as a summer house with the ladies’ section in Deo Bagh and the mens’ section in Jai Vihar, the family's current home. The garden complex houses the most exquisite family temples, a ‘hathi khana’ for elephants, stables and cenotaphs. Important Gwalior State meetings, especially against the British – when the valiant Rani of Jhansi fought from the fort rampart close by, were held here during that time. After India’s independence, this has been the home of Sardar Deorao Krishnarao Jadhav, his son Sardar Dhananjayrao Deorao Jadhav and his wife the Ranisaheba, since 1954 when they left their ancestral Lakshmi Vilas Rajwada. ... more   less
