This is a lovely campsite right on there banks of the Mosel river. It is mainly occupied by caravans and motor-homes, but there are pitches for tents, which was our dwelling method for the 5 days we stayed. The pitches are fairly close for caravans or motor homes, but tent pitches are of a good size, and the ground was great quality for the pegs during our stay. The site was pretty full when we arrived, and the only pitches available were down the far end of the site. This was better, as there were trees providing shade, unlike alot of the rest of the site, so during the heatwave that had hit while we were there, it was very welcome. However, it was a bit of a walk from the toilets and shower block, which is next to the reception. There is another shower/toilet block which is also where the washing up facilities are, but this was double the distance of the facilities at reception. I would suggest to arrive on a Tuesday or Thursday to get a more central spot. However, it appears that they are currently doing work at the reception site so it may be that they are extending the facilities. There is ample electric points and water taps. The site boasts a beautiful view of the river. There are 3 toilets, 2 showers and 5 open wash basins at the reception site which are very clean and look nice (I didn't check out the other facilities, though there are 2 sinks for washing up). The staff are friendly and speak English. It is approx. a 15 minute walk into town across the river for boat tours and some nice places to see. It is also about a 10 minute drive down the road to a retail park with an Aldi and Lidl. All in all it is a nice campsite in a good location and I recommend it if you visit the region…
