Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went end of August to beginning of September. This is a MOTEL not a Hotel. The rooms are not clean, the pool area is not clean and the beach area is a disgrace. The sunbeds provided by the hotel are old, broken, dirty and the towels are torn. There is NO service and no quality food. Do not waste money and time eating. One of of friends was sick from the food. This property is very pricey but does Not deliver the goods.

Stunning hotel in a beautiful setting, the staff were helpful and friendly the food from the pool bar excellent . The only niggle was the mini bar , arrived on a Sunday quite late , drank a small mythos beer , which then didn’t get replaced till the Thursday !. Same with small bottles of red and white wine . And unfortunately wine at pool bar ( both red and white atrocious) still had a most enjoyable stay and would return knowing I can purchase wine and small beers locally

We've just got back from the beautiful hotel, We stayed in room 115 which had the private pool , the room was quite big, with a massive soft bed might be too soft for some as I took us a couple of night to get use to it , we both slept really well and woke up very relaxed, there is also a small fridge , table, with a kettle, you also got tea, coffee, sugar ect, also a mirror on (in) the table, 2 spacious wardrobes, (one had a safe in ) the bathroom area had a shower, (quite small ) a bath which also had an over bath shower, the sink area was quite small, not many places to put your toiletries on, but the whole room was extremely clean, we had a "garden view" room, not much of a garden tbh, a strip of grass (that needed cutting ) a tree and a couple of hedges, next to a fence which separated us from the next door hotel (which at times was quite noisy if you were sitting out) there was 2 sun loungers, 2 chairs and a table, and a small plunge pool, not heated, but very nice after spending all day at the beach in +30° . The pool area was big with plenty of sun loungers and a covered area (we didn't spend much time at the pool area) there was a pool bar (where you go and get your beach towels ) which was well stocked and the staff were amazing, so friendly, nothing was too much for them, and they always greeted you with a smile, just cross the road was the beach (pebbley not sandy ) again plenty of sun beds, there was a waiter there who would bring you drinks, food ect, also very friendly. The reception area was beautiful and very clean. The receptionist always greeted you with a smile and were very warm and welcoming. The cleaners work very hard and are an absolute credit to this hotel. Breakfast. There was a good choice, breads, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, ham, eggs, sausage, ect ,the *hot food * was not hot and sat in warming trays , but I did get used to it, the Breakfast was the same every day, The coffee was nice, and again the the breakfast staff were lovely. This hotel was great we have come back home feeling very relaxed and chilled. The only Negative was the cold breakfast,

Nice hotel, but disappointing room. Stayed bed and breakfast for one week in a room with its own mini pool. Outlook from room was terrible, bathroom was tired, loud music from neighbouring bar until early hours. Woken up on last night by creature trapped in air conditioning ducting - very alarming! Lovely pool area and efficient pool bar service. Comfortable sunbeds. Beautiful, scenic beach with crystal clear sea. Front line sunbeds and waiter service provided by hotel on the beach were a real treat. Authentic Greek beach resort with 95% Greek holidaymakers. Lots of reasonably priced beach/harbour side restaurants within walking distance.

Nice hotel in a great location of Kalamata. Real nice pool and lounge area by pool. Directly across from ocean with sunbeds. Water on this part of the ocean gets a little choppy in late afternoon but enjoyable. When i arrived my room stunk like smoke but management moved me to another room and had the room disinfected while i waited. Service at pool bar was ok but could be better. Breakfast was also very good. I would stay again if i get the chance.

We spent our 45th anniversary at Horizon Blu in Kalamata, and loved every minute of it! The staffers were very friendly, helpful and spoke English well. Our ocean-view room was really comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was loaded with fresh fruit, pastries, bacon/ham and eggs and the best feta and Kalamata olives (which we ate at a table overlooking the Mediterranean, of course). The Olympic-sized saltwater pool, just a few steps from our room, was pretty sweet, too! The location was great, and we really enjoyed being able to walk just a few blocks for a number of tavernas with delicious traditional food along the sea. During our 2+ week trip to Greece, we stayed at high-end hotels in Athens, Kalamata and Crete. And our favorite, by far, was Horizon Blu.
