Only one night and one breakfast. Far too short. Beautiful location and great accommodation - a lovely room and a very comfortable bed. I great nights rest after a long drive. The breakfast was excellent quality and a generous portion. Only a short drive from my meeting in town.

Me and wife visited yesterday and as a young(ish) couple we thought it looked like a weekend we wouldn't have super fun. We loved it. Amazing room enhanced by the great weather and scenery. The local pub was great and Moira's breakfast was incredible. We then went to the local witch shop and visited the church. We will be back.

Had a great stay in the Dam Head property operated by Kate and Moira. The cottage was very comfortable, clean, and located in the great village of Roughlee. Great to catch up with Moira a bit, although our schedules did not allow for more time together, and also very good to connect with Kate. Kate and Moira are great hosts...

Web site etc looked very nice, we were visiting Barrowford and at short notice needed B&B for two nights, this looked good and at £80 per night, double room seemed reasonable(ish) but we found out too late that breakfast was an extra £15.95 (each), even good hotels don't charge this (I think!). Room and bed were very nice, the village...

I was in a twin bedded ground floor room. It was spacious, ensuite, very clean and had an electric kettle, fresh milk in the mini-fridge and tea bags and coffee provided. If required, you can have either a cooked or continental breakfast at an additional cost. There was also a flat screen television on the wall, table lamps and several windows...

We received a voucher for a nights stay here as a wedding present. The room its self was really lovely but they are disorganised. When I booked I asked for a double and they said this was fine. On the email confirmation I was advised I booked a twin, so I emailed back asking for a double. Again they said...

Stayed in the little studio. Ideal apart from the double bring 2 singles that had wheels. Should be easy enough to sort that. Tastefully decorated. Nice views. Handy for walking. Not too far to walk for dinner.

We booked for one night in Blacksmiths Cottage as a short weekend getaway. It is unusual to be able to book a full cottage for just one night, but this was a great find. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you would need (wood burner, dishwasher, microwave, kitchen etc.) and you can walk to Pendle Hill and the...

We stayed this time in the studio which was comfortable and well designed. The Bay Tree pub and restaurant is good to have a short walk away. Dam Head is so worth visiting - peaceful, very scenic and Moira and Kate are excellent hosts. We will be back again

This was a most welcome oasis after a 24 mile walk along the Pendle Way. Very comfortable and very welcoming. Dam Head is a perfect stopover if you are walking the Pendle Way as it is only a short distance from the Way and there is a great pub (Bay Horse) nearby for an evening meal. Breakfast was delicious and...

Welcome to Dam Head Barn, B & B and the Blacksmith's Cottage set in the heart of rural Lancashire. The properties are set in the protected landscape of the Forest of Bowland, a national area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB). Roughlee is a delightful hamlet set alongside the gentle stream of Pendle Water and one of three lovely villages sitting at the foot of Pendle Hill. Famous for the Pendle Witches - Roughlee’s witch connection goes right back to the beginning of the 17th Century. Pendle Hill towers 1,831ft above the region and used to be a beacon hill at the time of the Spanish Armada and is now a magnet for walkers and cyclists. Dam Head Barn, the Studio and the luxurious Blacksmith’s Cottage make a perfect place for a short break or longer holiday (for groups and individuals) to explore Pendle, the Forest of Bowland (AONB), and the diverse leisure and cultural activities on offer in wonderful rural Lancashire. We aim to offer the best possible guest experience. We have a rural location and lots of green space.
