We have just arrived home after a fabulous three nights at the Fountain Inn. We decided to spend our new year in beautiful Barnoldswick after a brief stay there a few years ago. We arrived early and were made welcome from the very start by the staff in the pub. Our room was

A Disgusting, Filthy Hovel! (And trust me that is being really polite). I've stayed in some rough places over the years particularly in remote third world countries. This place is beyond dire. Filthy pillow, filthy room, filthy toilet and bathroom with cupboard. door hanging

The room wasn't in the state you've taken pictures of! The room was checked in the morning by house keeping and was spotless. You say you took one look and left, yet you spent a good 3 hours in the room then left. What did you do in them 3 hours? Maybe your own pictures explain what you did! If the room was in such a bad state, how come you used the coffee and tea making facilities then?

Stayed for just one night and have to say the weather was very kind so wished we had booked in for two. We stayed in a family room which was spacious and great king sized bed which was very comfortable. Clean with an area to make tea, microwave and fridge so good amenities.

Stayed here a couple of times and always had a good stay. This time I booked it and arranged an early breakfast as we are working. This wasn’t going to happen until we made a fuss. We had two rooms booked a single and a twin. The single was damp, mouldy and cold. The twin was

Hi, we are sorry your stay this time wasn’t what you expected. We serve breakfast from 8am on weekends like advertised. You had asked for a 7.30am breakfast when you booked, but, on arrival wanted it for 6.30am. Trying to explain we couldn’t do it at this time you started being horrible to our bar staff. We spoke to the chef who was doing the breakfast that morning and told you we needed too wait for him to confirm if he could do it at that time, as this would of ended up in him doing a 15 hour shift, you demanded a refund. Even before we came up with a suitable solution. The chef agreed to come in at 6am to do your breakfast for 6.30am. Regarding the smell in the room, you are the first person to bring this too our attention. When the house keepers cleaned the room the following morning all we found was a broken chair that wasn’t broken before you checked in. As for the single room, it’s on the end of the building. With all the bad weather with the rain and wind we had, the rain got through the wall (pointing)resulting in the the feel of the room being damp. You said the bar staff was rude, maybe this was because of the way the way your attitude was with her. When you came too the bar to ask if we could do something about the rooms, we was going to put you in different rooms.. you disappeared without saying where you was going. How can we sort something out for you when you wasn’t around? Again sorry the stay this time was up to your expectations.
