Tired and jaded accommodation and time for a refresh. No customer service. We were given a key at reception and left to our own devices. If you like dogs you'll love it here. We don't and wish we'd stayed elsewhere. It's like a very old fashioned hotel where commercial travellers would have stayed in days gone by

This was our last stop along the Stanza Trail and the hotel is perfectly situated just off the canal towpath. Four of us had quite a long day, walking over from Hebden Bridge and our host greeted us with the same friendliness that we've experienced on previous occasions. Superb food from the same hands and he even rearranged the rooms... More

Ok. It was a flyby visit, late arrival, early depart. However the room was great and really clean. Superb breakfast, great quality and well cooked. Friendly owners. Really enjoyed the stay. Recommend if you in the area. Unfortunately never got to see the famous locks. Maybe next time.

We were going to Bingley Music for the Sunday and made a stopover at he Five Rise Locks which we knew about from when we lived in the area. Overall the one night stay was acceptable, not special in any way but is reasonable value for money.

This is a very dog friendly hotel, our two Labradors loved it here - we stayed in room 9 which had access to an outside door without having to go through the main Hotel, it went straight out into the garden and you are able to walk round to the car park. The Hotel is very clean, tidy and friendly,... More

Wonderful relaxing holiday! Lovely views from our room. Comfy bed, great food and very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Love it! We even had a display from a cheeky squirrel pinching the food from the bird table in the garden. The walk down to the five locks is well worth the steep climb back to the hotel. Loved the allotment on... More

This is nice place to stay, we were put in the 4 poster bad room which was nice and spacious. Very clean and everything you need. Breakfasts were lovely and plentiful. Couple of downsides though. We stayed over a very hot period and walking into entrance hall/reception area both afternoon there was a very strong 'doggy' smell which wasn't so... More

Stayed at this hotel just for one night while I went to a wedding. The scenery is really nice, and the 5 Rise Locks are just a short walk away and are really nice. The staff were extremely friendly, the room itself more than adequate but it was the food that made this hotel stand out for me. I had... More

Just spent a couple of nights here , it was fabulous. The grounds surrounding the hotel are so peaceful you can't fail to relax here. The menu in the restaurant is a little short on choice but the food is of really good quality. The rooms are comfortable, four poster bed was a surprise and comfortable. The staff are very... More

The hotel worked well for a single night stay. The staff were very welcoming, particularly those within the restaurant. Food also of a high standard. The bedroom was adequate and the parking free. Good internet. Nearby is the five rise set of locks, hence the name, and they are well worth a visit. The canal also provides a good route... More
