Value
Space, peace and idyllic quiet are rare luxuries, which you will find at the Moulin de la Camandoule ; an ancient olive oil mill lovingly transformed into a stylish Hotel-Restaurant at the foot of a mediaeval Provencal hilltop village. With a long history, its weathered walls reflect the centuries and remind you of the charm and the seduction of old Provence. Le Moulin De La Camandoule is located in Provence, between the southern Alps and the Esterel massif. This old olive mill was built in the 17th century and has an outdoor swimming pool, a hot tub and a terrace set in a 4-hectare park. In terms of room cleaning : In addition to the "Anti-virucidal standard" products, we will use a device that allows the disinfection of all surfaces and fabrics. Organic treatment : bactericidal, fungicidal, virucidal, yeasticidal, tuberculocidal, sporicidal. The final disinfection is in the form of dry mist to uniformly reach each CM2 to be treated and this for any volume. (DVSA concept - NFT 72281)

We've been before a couple of times. This time, we went with two friends for dinner and stay the night.

They take 5 hours to completely clean the room so check in is a bit later but that was fine with us. They don't come in to change towels or anything so nobody enters your room. If you have room service the waiter comes in quickly... wearing gloves & mask and just lays your tray [covered in cling film] on the table and leaves.

Food in the restaurant was delicious as always; good social distancing. Their wine lists great and OK priced, but the house wine is also very good and exceptionally reasonably priced.

Great attentive service.

Had an organized women's lunch for the International Women's club of the Var. It was a limited menu but the food was excellent and gourmet, the wines very good and really was exceptional. The cost was 39 euro and included everything. Couldn't have been happier and hope more meals like this are offered, perhaps next time with husbands!

Beautiful hotel, fabulous location close to Fayence Village but in a quiet and relaxing location. Attentive staff, individual rooms full of character & charm, beautiful views. Spotlessly clean with much effort made towards Covid safety. Lovely pool, fabulous terrace dining. Huge car park. Loved it and looking forward to coming back soon.

Just returned from 3 nights at the Moulin de la Camandoule - and wished we could have stayed much longer! Will definitely return. This converted olive mill provides charming ambiance - lovely grounds, well appointed and very comfortable rooms with all amenities. Also has a large swimming pool altho we did not use it in Nov! Ample parking plus easy access to Nice airport (30mins) and surrounding areas of the region. The owner (British) and her staff are available, friendly and extremely supportive - the perfect hosts. The dinners (extra cost) are a gourmet delight with an extensive wine list and impecable service. The salon provides a relaxing area for drinks before dinner and coffee after. The photos on the website are an accurate reflection of the reality.

This restaurant had been recommended to us and as luck would have it, we happened to reserve it for what must have been one of the wettest days in Provence this year. However, what a delightful way to spend a wet Sunday! The restaurant was full and, as far as we could determine, most of the diners appeared to be French - a good sign. The meal was excellent from our house speciality aperitif through to coffee and petits fours. We would definitely go there again and would like to combine it with an overnight stay so that we could fully appreciate the pretty grounds and outdoor pool.

We booked here to celebrate my partners birthday and I had picked the place carefully. We like small, charming, comfortable places with a personal touch - and The Moulin de Camandoule is definitely one of those. The room was on the small side, but very nice with a lovely private terrace. The staff was very forthcoming and made us feel welcome from the first moment. The pool area is nice and the restaurant excellent. We will make plans to return.

It's lovely when you get to discover a well-run independent hotel with this much character.
The building is steeped in history with a small Roman aquaduct running through it and the room we were in was spacious and beautifully decorated.
We also dined at the hotel which was a stunning experience.
Highly recommended.

We visited this restaurant again on a lovely warm summer's night. All the tables in the garden were occupied. The welcome and service was stylish and friendly. They have two fixed priced menus at 53 and 69€ and an "a la carte" menu. The wine list is predominantly local. We ate excellent foie gras and filet steak cooked to perfection with Summer truffle. The cheese board reminds me of The Gavroche restaurant in London in the seventies with at least 25 different types of cheeses.
A red fruit desert completed this memorable feast.
This is a lovely place with great atmosphere. It will certainly be on our list for the next time we visit the area.

We booked one night with friends but wished we had been able to stay longer. Although the hotel is only three star, the service of all the staff including Cynthia at reception on our arrival, gave us a great feeling of welcome. The rooms were clean and air conditioned. There is a a large pool with plenty of pool beds and towels are included. For lunch there is a poolside restaurant, as well as the main outside terrace, serving good mid day fare including barbecue.
The main restaurant has an excellent set menu, with a good choice, as well as a la carte. The food was of a very superior quality with excellent flavours and again the service was superb and friendly. If you like cheese you will not be dissapointed with the cheese board on offer. Is is so large that we were surprised the waiters could carry it.
We had a wonderful stay making the one night into two full days, starting with poolside lunch, evening dinner, great buffet breakfast next morning and lunch. The owners had no problem with us staying till late afternoon the second day. We must surely return.
The internal public rooms are also wonderfully furnished and indoor restaurant is a picture, in case of bad weather.
One thing that needs mentioning is that if you have problems with stairs, request a ground floor room, as the upper floors have tight winding stairs. Not unusual as it was originally built as an olive mill, some of the features are still remaining.
