Visited in March 2020, and enjoyed a good reception by all staff. The room was relatively well stocked, (though can be improved) with fresh towels, robes and beverages with which to make my drinks. Rooms are also spacious and are worth every coin spent.
The breakfast and lunch are continental and everything is organic.

The serene environment is a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of town life and allows a guest to feel as one with nature, while taking in the beauty of Mount Elgon and savouring the fresh air.

Will I return or do I recommend to potential clients?? - BY ALL MEANS - YES!!

I don't like hotels that are quite expensive and present themselves as a top quality but at the same time they lack the sufficient level of basic services. In our case for example no hot water in the room in the morning, one hour waiting for the dinner when there were just 6 guests in the dining room, etc. Personally - I can't recommend this hotel.

Mbale Resort is a great place to relax or hold a business meeting/ conference. The rooms are spacious have Wifi and satellite TV though the old CRT type not flat screen. Their restaurant has both A la carte and local cuisines. The local food is well prepared and fresh. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. There is a swimming pool and gym available. The rooms have a fridge though no mini bar yet but bottled water is supplied with a kettle. The balconies on the eastern wing have a beautiful view of Mt Elgon and with the sunrise you can also hear the bats in the distance. Their gardens are well tended and natural. There is a stream that runs through giving it a natural feel.

We arrived after a long drive and couldn’t park because a wedding party was blocking the drive way and just looked at us and wouldn’t move. Had to back up to a secondary entrance. No hotel staff seen to insure hotel guests were taken care of.
After check in was told room was not ready, this was 2:30 pm. Tried to get a cold drink and was told there was no ice available and drinks were not cold. When finally told room was ready and went up the stairs the wedding party was seated midway up the stairs and blocked the way and wouldn’t move. No staff around to direct the wedding party to cater to hotel guests. Not happy about this.

I went for a filming trip in Mt. Elgon area with my team. As a documentary maker, i got the best support of all times. Dickson, Sarah, Sikola, and the chef we cannot recall the names. You guys are geniuses. We have never felt comfortable on the filming trip like we did at your resort. Food especially Malewa was so unimaginable. 5 star luxury is an under statement. Birds wake up singing for you plus the whispers of that small stream that was kind of flowing close to my window. Dickson is not only a good administrator but an excellent guide. We toured Bamasaba land filming with ease. Guys keep up the smiles, they make us remember you all the time. Rooms were super neat and the swimming pool OMG. My team always scream to come back.

We really highly recommend any documentarist or media house planning a trip to Elgon area or anywhere in Eastern Uganda. Honestly the service is far above each single penny you pay. We cant wait to come back for Malewa.

I visited Mbale Resort Hotel on my christmas trip to Mbale. I was blown away at how the facility is well kept and the top notch service received from the staff. I could not help but notice the new changes and renovations taking place at the hotel. The staff right from reception to the restaurant were very smart in african fricbric uniforms which seem new. I also noticed the renovations taking place at the Health Club. I inquired from one of the staff and was told their Health club is being upgraded to a more spacious one and will be equipped with modern equipment. Too bad i was not staying around town for so long otherwise i can wait to enjoy the new health club facility next time with all renovation works complete.

this is always our place for weekends and we get well treated. Service crew on point and speed of service really good lately. Smiles from the crews and a warm place to be by the pool. We were well handled by Brenda and Christine at the poolside and food was hot tasty and fresh will recommend. Manager peter also followed up on our and other orders and served in a fast efficient friendly way. Clean bathrooms and Covid regulations observed. Great place!

Amazing Hotel with spacious rooms, This goes to Olivier and Jamal for making my bed a wonderful place to stay in. This people laid my bed in a shortest time possible I give it all to them for being amazing house keepers Not forgetting the IT Emmanuel, for quickly solving the Safe that had locked with my property inside, This is genius, something I spent ten minutes trying to open, he spent less than a minute and the safe was open. Thank you for making my stay enjoyable, As part of the Britam team, I enjoyed the stay.

This is a beautiful place! They've expanded since we were there last time, and it's really nice.
We had lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Service was good, everyone was very nice, not a long wait for our food, and the food was simply wonderful. One of our friends said it was the best he had the entire trip. (he had chicken salad with avocados, not sure what it was called)
It was quite a bit more expensive than anyplace else we ate in Mbale, but a much more upscale place.

Mbale Town is about 275 km from Entebbe and that translates to about 5 hours drive. The hotel security is good and Mbale town in general is safe. They most probably do not do Airport transfers due to the distance.

Hello It's approx 20 minutes drive and that's because the road isn't smooth otherwise it would be about 10 minutes or less. Hope that helps

There are two wings in the Hotel - the old and the new wing , so prices will vary, just be mindful of this when choosing - usual hotel booking sites will be your best bet with prices. . Lovely place whichever wing you choose, just a matter of a few minutes walk from the old wing to the new (where the restaurant etc are located - service will also be quicker as a result).

beside the calendar showing up rain season you can expect in Uganda temperatures between 25 and 30 C. August / September are monthes recommended to travel by own experiances, however it could always have a rain shower, hence be prepared. Uganda is really worth to travel focus on warmhearting people, landscape and beautiful animals.
