Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Thank you for an excellent stay. The room was in great condition, and we had a really comfortable nights sleep. Top marks for the receptionist on duty, Friday evening (12/4) and Saturday morning (13/4), she was one of the nicest people we have ever met behind a reception counter. We shall come again when we next visit family.

My overnight stay here with my assistance dog was out of this world. Each staff member I encountered was fantastic. They all seemed to have received specialist training on how to offer me all the accommodations for my Autism needs without me asking, which led me to having such a relaxing stay. I did not have to feel awkward in asking for anything, as it was always offered immediately, from helping with my luggage, getting into my room, a quiet table at dinner and breakfast, helping me with the self service breakfast. Each staff member was not condescending or making any assumptions on my abilities or capacity, they was just all so lovely. Every staff member I encountered was just brilliant. Special awards needed for them all, as it was the best stay I have ever encountered whilst travelling independently with my assistance dog.

I stay here often and on this occasion I have to mention that the staff helpfulness was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was very clean, the bedroom was spotless. I recommend this hotel and will be going back. I find it strange how Premier Inn quality and standards vary between hotels, it must be due to individual staff and managers.

I’m a big Premier Inn fan, thus this review is the polar opposite to my review of Premier Inn Karlsruhe which I’d stayed in the nights before Pontefract North. Where to begin? I checked in late, around 20:30, and due to the window being left wide open the room was chilly. I can understand airing out the room, but strange for guests to enter a room with the window open when it’s raining outside. Thus I turned up the thermostat and nothing. So I went to reception to ask if they had a spare heater which they said they did not. When I returned to the room there was a rather awful burning smell, emanating from the wall heating. When I looked inside, amongst the debris was a glowing orange wire from which the smell was coming. I’m no heating engineer so perhaps this wasn’t dangerous but it sure felt like it, so we turned it off from the wall and spoke to reception about changing rooms. They said no as the hotel was fully booked, but were polite and offered us extra blankets to keep warm. I wasn’t happy but it was very late, my kids tired, so I took the bedding and tried to sleep. Sadly the problems didn’t end there. This may sound pedantic but I wanted a freshen up, and when I entered the shower I was greeted by a massive hair stuck to the shower wall. It can happen, but sure was off putting. And then to top it off when we used the WC it seemed there was a problem with the cistern as the water ran for a few minutes, more worryingly with a gurgling sound coming from the bathtub plug hole when you flushed. Thus, I had the bare minimum few hours sleep I could before packing up our car early and heading off, with the family not even having a shower as we worried about water quality issues after the bathtub/wc gurgling. Perhaps we were just unlucky, but it was a horrendous stay. It’s rather bemusing that despite the night reception being polite, and again my mentioning the issues at check out to reception that they apparently are powerless to do anything at the hotel itself and I’ve had to complain via the website which says Premier Inn will get back to me in 30 days. That just feels weak customer service and will probably just end up with a generic we are sorry email.

Hotel is in a great location, food was very good and the service by Tony was second to none… would highly recommend this hotel and Tony is needed at every premiere inn.. Great parking, close to the motorway, the soft play was so good for the little kids which made our stay perfect.

Hi there, the Premier Inn Pontefract North hotel is clean, food and drinks were perfect during our stay. The room and board were top notch. But above all you need the staff to make the place work and Tony made my stay first class. Always there to help, with the kids and during the breakfast period. Will stay again as he made the difference!!! 👍🏻

We were in Pontefract as a Berkshire Team of 48 athletes 6 team managers and one coach driver., for the English Schools Cross Country Championships at Pontefract Racecourse. The Hotel offered excellent value for money and was able to accommodate our group in 24 twin rooms and 7 double rooms. We stayed on Friday 15 March for the ESAA Championships on Saturday 16 March. We had an excellent choice of a two course dinner on Friday 15th and an outstandingly good choice from the breakfast menu. As a group we were very happy indeed with the Hotel, restaurant and the efficiency and politeness of the staff involved in our check in and the high standard of the restaurant staff. The manner in which they dealt with a large group and our requirements was of the highest standard. The Hotel was only around 15 minutes away from the venue for the ESAA Cross Country Championships.

Typical Premier Inn. Very expensive for one nights sleep which didn’t include breakfast. Extra £10/person for breakfast. I will go elsewhere on my next trip as I don’t think they are very good value for money. £90/ night is a fairer price. No better than a Travel lodge which is far cheaper.
