Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a small campsite at the entrance to Orgiva. Good wifi offered for free throughout. It offers several sites, some of which are suitable for a campervan, and others just for tents, in addition to bungalows and even one tree house. Pitches were not all level, offer electricity. We loved that this was one of the only campsites in Andalucia that offered BBQ sites as well as picnic tables. The staff are very helpful, have provisions and can give very good advice re hiking in the Alpujarras. The town is not in walking distance. Amenaties were okay, clean - would be so much better if they offered toilette paper as every other campsite does. We ended up staying for two nights.

Nice camping with lovely old olive trees. Bathroom is clean. It would be nice if they provide toilet paper. You can easily walk to the nice village. The restaurant has good and cheap food. A loth of locals come here too. It is a good starting point for hiking in the neighborhood. The wifi is bad, that is a pity.

The camp site is nice and staff friendly, and the location is beautiful.

But... I get annoyed enough when there is no hand soap in campsite toilets but this is the first in Spain I've been to where loo roll is not provided. Over €15 for the two of us in a tent (without car) is enough to cover a few sheets of bog roll surely!

Bring toilet roll if camping here, and hand soap too if you value hygiene.

We have just spent four nights at Camping Orgiva in the Alpujarra and would like to recommend.
It's a small to medium sized site on two levels. The call it a garden site but it is mainly dirt and grass. The lower level where we were had more grass than the upper level and also had gorgeous views. Very peaceful and we were so lucky with the weather. I guess in Summer the grass will be dry and in wet spell there will be quite a bit of mud, but for our visit it was perfect. The pitches were lovely and large.
The reception staff were very quick to respond to emails, and very welcoming and helpful. They sorted us a gas bottle and even gave my husband a lift up to the village and back so he could do a supermarket shop.
We stayed 6 hours over time today which we were expecting to be charged for, but weren't. The cost was 26.55 per night with 10% off for the ACSI card.
There is waste land next to the site where dogs can have a run off lead.
I didn't use the toilets or showers but my husband says it was all clean and the water pressure was good. Th shower block is heated too.
Rustic restaurant on site. Service wasn't great but the menu was comprehensive and the food very good. The only time a portion of prawns has beaten me.
A walk up to the village for lunch was a 6.5 km hike uphill. I struggled with it but I generally fit person would manage fine. We had a lovely meal in the town plaza. A few glasses of vino and thankfully downhill all the way back.
We will definitely return.

Room Tip: Plenty of free pitches while sites on the coast were very busy. Shhh, don't tell everyone!

The staff are disgusting. The owners daughter decided to harass me. The cleaning woman was rude and offensive in her behaviour. They both decided to throw fleas on my tent repeatedly causing me hundreds of euros in damages. They also had my last review removed. Nasty people.

We've just had a week here in our motorhome - our 8th visit in 7 years. We love it! So tranquil, friendly and good value. Bar / restaurant excellent. Tapas to die for! ½hr walk into Orgiva... uphill but downhill coming back! Very Spanish rural town. Great for visiting white villages in the Poquiera valley ... good bus service from town. Also excellent bus service into Granada. Or you can just sit and look at the mountains!

If you are camping/glamping, and find yourself in Sierra Nevada region, I strongly recommend you stay here!

Whether you arrive with tent/caravan/camper or fancy renting a tree house on site THIS IS A MUST STAY PLACE

Multi-lingual reception, great bar/cafe/terrace, international professional crowd (as opposed to those you may find along the coast in Spain, OUTSTSTANDING STAFF, pool, etc

Do not get the site confused with "Camping Puerta de la Alpugarra" which is located on the otherside of Orgiva... It is nowhere near as nice

My friend, my dog and I were camper van travelling around Europe and decided to stop at camping orgiva for a week. Everything was very straight forward, we got a lovely pitch under the olive trees and were in the best site we'd stayed at in our three months so far. The atmosphere was so lovely and communal, we met some amazing people there from all walks of life and the bar/restaurant was a nice place to go in the evening. I was trying to learn Spanish and every time I learnt a little bit more the bar man was so proud of me and congratulated me it encouraged me to learn more and more, such a positive experience. All the staff were amazing, I loved being told 'hola guapa' in the morning when I went to get coffee, and when I said ¡hasta luego! the last day we were there I really meant it! We ended up staying for three weeks and only left as we had to get back to the uk for work, otherwise we could have easily stayed for the winter. It's in a beautiful setting, orgiva is a lovely multicultural town, it's close to all the bigger places like Granada and motril for shopping and to be honest I still wish I was there right now!!!! We made so many great memories here and will see you again soon!!! ¡Hasta luego!!!!!

Having a property some 30 minutes away means we have never used the camp site to stay. We visit our house for a few days every month and we make sure we have a least one meal and probably many more drinks each visit here. In summer we pay the entrance fee and use the pool. The staff here at the restaurant are excellent friendly and efficient and some of the best we have ever come across. For most people good wine, good food, great setting for visiting other areas then this has the making for a superb holiday.
