Site facilities include exceptional, modern, clean and award winning bathrooms including family rooms and disabled access. A well stocked shop and cafe as well as a laundry with tumble driers are all conveniently located in the main facilities block. The cafe at Haw Wood Farm serves fish and chips every Friday between March and October, plus delicious breakfasts. It is situated facing the extensive children's playground so you can sit back and relax while keeping an eye on your brood. Firepits are available to borrow on request and other items such as high chairs, wellies and a baby bath and all free to borrow during your stay. A dedicated dog walking field is provided. This is a family run site within easy reach of the A12 and surrounded by acres of peaceful Suffolk countryside. You'll be just 5 miles from the nearest beach and close to many attractions, so you can discover something new each day. Pitches here are generous and level, catering for motorhomes, caravans, campervans and tents. As well as fully serviced hardstanding pitches, there are also large grass pitches with or without electricity. Managers Dan and Georgina and their team will welcome you onsite, show you around and take you down to your pitch. They will be available all through your stay, giving the site a very friendly and relaxed feel. Dogs are very welcome and will enjoy the large grazing meadow that has been made available for them to exercise off the lead. They may also enjoy the rest of the park on a lead. There is a heavy emphasis on being environmentally friendly here, which is evident in the biomass boiler that provides underfloor heating and constant hot water, and also in the gold awards from David Bellamy that praise the tremendous wildlife present on the park and the green manner in which the site is run. Open from 1st March to 14th January

We stayed at Haw Wood last summer as a group of families with 6 children (aged 4-7 years old) between us. We were greeted with a warm welcome and shown to our pitch, a lovely spot next to the wild meadow which the children couldn’t wait to explore. We are regular campers but have never experienced such great onsite facilities. The showers and toilets are spotless and roomy (no trying to dry yourself without dropping your clothes on wet floors!), the shop sells lovely local produce with the added bonus of serving hot suppers, we enjoyed a great curry one night, nice to have a night off cooking on the camp stoves. Dunwich beach is approx 10 minutes away and the on-site playground had enough to keep the children occupied for hours. We will be returning this year and have recommended the site to friends and family.

We stayed here for a long weekend and had a great time.

1) The tent pitches are large and the surrounding countryside is beautiful.

2) The toilet and shower facilities were immaculately clean.
3) It was great to stay at a campsite that allow BBQs (they do insist you use fire bricks, which they supply).
4) The shop was well stocked and the kids playground looked great for those people with children.

There is a strict quiet time policy from 11 pm, however on our first night we did have a problem with some noisey/inconsiderate neighbors. After speaking with reception in morning the staff were very understanding. They had a talk with our neighbors, made them reconsider the position of their firepit (so it wasn't 5M from our tent) and made sure to patrol by our pitches the next evening to make sure our neighbors behaved themselves. Which we really appreciated.

Overall this campsite is wonderful, the staff are great and we would highly recommend it. We ourselves hope to return again.

Updatrs:
- Their COVID-19 policies were fab, lots of hand sanitizer everywhere and even the playground was closed every hour for sterilisation.
- We would highly recommend walking from the campsite to Southwold beach. It's about 7.5 miles and goes through some really beautiful landscapes (Suffolk farmland/Dunwich forest/the salt marches) and finishes with a short trip on the walberwick . Though a taxi back to the campsite would be advisable.

Had a great time at Haw Wood Farm, beautifully clean, excellent social distancing in place. Nice and quiet, everything we needed. Will definitely come back. Borrowed fire bricks for our bbq, can also use their fire pits and buy logs. Kids play park was huge and cleaned regularly, lots of green space for the kids to fly their planes

We returned, with friends, for our third trip to Haw wood farm. We have always enjoyed how clean and lovely the facilities are.
I was very disappointed this year at how rude the staff were. Staff challenged and refused to serve those not wearing a mask in the little shop without regard for hidden disabilities. Masks are no longer mandatory and people should not have to have sunflower lanyards in order to avoid rudeness and embarrassment.
The covid rules in place (one way system) was ridiculous and appeared to be there for a tick box exercise. Common sense out of the window. No hand sanitiser beside water taps/play ground which would have been a better use of money/their time. As a group we fully support, respect & follow covid precautions!

The showers & toilets were very clean but the water quite cold making showering unpleasant.

The play area was great for kids. Camp site has little added extras such a fire pits (to hire)

Thank you for your review and feedback, There is a mixture of messages here as you say you support, respect and follow covid precautions, but the pre arrival infomation you recieved before arriving very clearly states that we will continue to enforce our masks in the shop and washing up area policy and you would have again been told this at check in. As you say it is a small shop and we have lots of young staff who have not had a chance to be fully vacinated yet so we are doing our best to protect them. We also do have 6 hand sanitizers around the building and one exclusive one for the playground and another for the chemical waste area. Thanks again Hawwood Farm

Fantastic to see Haw Wood Farm open for business again, it’s a lovely campsite in a great location. Our family of 3 enjoyed a fantastic 2 night stay in a tent on the first opening weekend since Covid-19. We did one of our favourite trips again, cycling from the campsite through the quiet lanes, past the pig farm and sandy heathlands through to Walberswick, for crabbing off the jetty and an ice cream. We then returned stopping for a pint in The Anchor pub garden on the way back. The Haw Wood Farm pitches are spacious and the meadow settings really nice. We also enjoyed the use of a fire pit during our stay which kept the chill off before bedtime. There was quite a bit of noise late into the night from a group in the next field on the first night, but it was good to see this clamped down on the second night by the owner. The shower block, toilets, shop etc are all spotless and I would thoroughly recommend staying here.

Camping; tent all set up under a tree, dog fast asleep and you're enjoying a bottle of beer in front of the firepit. You look around and you can barely see anyone else. However, you're only 30 seconds away from a on-site cafe and the cleanest toilets and shower rooms that we've seen at a campsite.

Yes - it's October. Maybe you'd have a different experience in the height of summer but throughout our stay, we enjoyed it and would definitely return.

On arrival, we were met by friendly staff to go through the camp / Covid rules which were all fair enough and only took 5 minutes before being shown to out pitch.

Bacon sandwich at the café was lovely and the showers were very clean. My girlfriend had hot water, however mine was on the cold side therefore a little hit and miss however standard for camping showers.

9/10 only due to the cold shower but otherwise it was lovely.

We stayed back in June with friends (who had been before and recommended the site) and we were not disappointed!

First impressions, were clean, tidy and well maintained site. Huge pitches (we had a 6 man tent with plenty of room for sitting and also parking our vehicles). This site had a real family feel to it with an amazing play park and family wash rooms (which consisted of a spacious shower, toilet, sink, mirror and changing facilities for babies). I’ve never seen such clean and well maintained toilet/shower blocks on a campsite - they were regularly cleaned, had relaxing music playing and fresh flowers too! This had a great location for days out at Dunwhich and Snape Maltings etc as well as having the Two Magpies bakery at the end of the road. There was a great little shop/cafe on site with seating area outside - Positioned perfectly to sit and watch the chicken playing.

Bins were kept tidy and when full, another opened with facilities to recycle, glass and general waste etc.

This site has definitely set the bar very high for our camping expectations and we will certainly be back as well as highly recommend to others too.

There is a lovely atmosphere here, it was our first time camping without friends and we really enjoyed it.
The owners have thought of everything (particularly in Covid times) - fire pits on loan, spacious pitches, great shop, excellent kids play park etc. Toilets and showers very clean, hand sanitisers on the entrance to the loos & play park.

Very quiet at night after 10pm which is good for families and suited us. Me & husband sat having a beer by the fire talking quietly until about 10.45pm once the kids were asleep without any issues or being asked to stop. For those looking for a lively party site in big groups I recommend look elsewhere as this is not the place for you.

Beautiful location for exploring Suffolk. We will be back!

We have visited this site many times over the years and watched it grow in popularity. It is a testament to the professional, friendly staff who are dedicated to making every visitors stay and enjoyable one. The site pitches are generous and roomy, the facilities such as toilet blocks, washing rooms etc. are excellent and immaculately clean. The play area offers a break for the parents, where they can monitor their children playing whilst sipping on a nice cuppa or glass of beer or wine on the patio. Its location is an ideal base for all the usual tourist attractions in Suffolk and further afield. My wife and I always speak highly of Haw Wood Farm and its lovely staff members. Warning: If you go, you will want to come back! ;-)

We visited out of season so the site was very quiet and some of the facilities not in full use (e.g. cafe). The showers and loos that were open were lovely and clean as was the wash up/laundry area. We had a wonderful warm greeting from Dan and he checked in with us throughout our stay. Fantastic location for exploring Suffolk beaches and villages. Huge, contained dog walking field. We thought it was great value for money and loved that there were no extra charges for our dogs or awning. We'll definitely be back.

Hi. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Yes we do, but as it is very dry you must put them on bricks and boards to stop fires and use a fire bucket. As the other person mentioned we also lend fire pits out pits and sell logs for them.

Answer from Haw Wood F
Hi.. It depends what you are after. Do you want to be near the toilets and playground or tucked away in a quiet corner? You can look at a map when booking and choose what suits you.
