Travellers' Choice
Haw Wood Farm is a well established campsite that prides itself on its peaceful, well maintained and spacious pitches. A 14 acre site surrounded by countryside, for 100 tourers, tents, motorhomes and 55 privately owned Static Caravans. Haw Wood Farm has recently seen some major improvements to its amenities. We are really proud of our platinum award winning bathrooms, family rooms and facilities for the disabled. We have a laundry, shop, reception area, cafe and fantastic kids playground. Our newly planted woodland, wildflower meadow and dedicated dog walking field (where you can weave through the wild grasses and feast your eyes on a magnificent array of flora and fauna) are just a few of the things that have gained us a David Bellamy Gold Award for Conservation. New for 2016 are fully serviced hardstanding pitches and a motorhome service point. You will find us conveniently close to the A12, surrounded by open fields and just a few miles from the beautiful Suffolk coastal towns of Southwold, Walberswick, Dunwich and RSPB Minsmere. With picturesque market towns, bike trails, woodlands and plenty of pubs nearby we have everything you could want for a well earned break right on the doorstep.

What a lovely site a treasure of a find. From the moment I drove up such a warm welcome. The site is really well laid out, facilities were extremely clean and tidy. Very spacious well laid out site. We had breakfast from the little shop before we left it was lovely to be able to get gluten free without any hassle. Thank you 😊 and a proper pot of tea not tea bags! And not over priced. I would highly recommend staying here. Really felt a lovely atmosphere even though only there 1 night. Just a shame we were only staying one night. Will definitely go back if in the area again. Thank you and see you again.

From the warm welcome on arrival, this lovely site was perfect for our first caravan holiday. The staff were all friendly and helpful and there were sensible Covid measures in place so that it also felt safe. Having a place to walk our nervous dog where all dogs had to be on leads was also a bonus. We liked it so much that we stayed an extra night and hope to come back again.

We visited out of season so the site was very quiet and some of the facilities not in full use (e.g. cafe). The showers and loos that were open were lovely and clean as was the wash up/laundry area. We had a wonderful warm greeting from Dan and he checked in with us throughout our stay. Fantastic location for exploring Suffolk beaches and villages. Huge, contained dog walking field. We thought it was great value for money and loved that there were no extra charges for our dogs or awning. We'll definitely be back.

Hawood Farm is amazing.absolutely love all the wildness and orchids. we had 2 weeks june july welove it our 2nd visit. Georgina and Dan are great and all the staff, they all made our holiday safe. reading reviews im amazed about the poor comments on covid rules. For us and i know many more having masks and a one way system made us feel very safe. Surely we need a safe holiday and no more lockdowns, We love the fact its quiet at 10pm. HONESTLY THIS IS A ONE OF OUR FAVOURITE SITES AND WE WILL BE BACK. kEEP UP THE GOOD WORK gEORGINA AND DAN AND ALL THETEAM, AND ALL THE EFFORT INTO YOUR MEADOWS WILD FLOWERS AND WOOD. DEF DOING YOUR BIT TO SAVE THE PLANET.

Camping; tent all set up under a tree, dog fast asleep and you're enjoying a bottle of beer in front of the firepit. You look around and you can barely see anyone else. However, you're only 30 seconds away from a on-site cafe and the cleanest toilets and shower rooms that we've seen at a campsite. Yes - it's October. Maybe you'd have a different experience in the height of summer but throughout our stay, we enjoyed it and would definitely return. On arrival, we were met by friendly staff to go through the camp / Covid rules which were all fair enough and only took 5 minutes before being shown to out pitch. Bacon sandwich at the café was lovely and the showers were very clean. My girlfriend had hot water, however mine was on the cold side therefore a little hit and miss however standard for camping showers. 9/10 only due to the cold shower but otherwise it was lovely.

I gave this 4s because there was nothing wrong with the pitches and the showers . This site wasn’t for us, it was too well manicured & regimental with all the pitches being lines. This was our most expensive pitch at £31 a night. We decided we liked the smaller more rural sites.

Arrived and although greeting was friendly it felt more like a hospital than a campsite with more COVID info than details about the campsite. Hadn't even got the tent out the car when the gardener demanded our dog be tethered up. Our lab was sat beside us, calm and not moving about. He never roams, but gardener not interested in any of this. He even came back several times to check we had him in a lead (which we did, although we didn't tether the lead as we didn't need to) We were unlucky enough to be beside the only people on site who let their children run around their tent, shouting and screaming for hours. I appreciate that kids can be noisy, but everyone else in site was there for a quiet break. If you want noisy then go in school holidays. We asked them to quieten down after several hours but the male in the group became very aggressive and abusive even following us around on site to intimidate us. We packed and left the next morning 2 days early. Site may be clean and tidy but we didn't feel welcome within minutes of arriving.

Fantastic campsite, great for kids and excellent facilities. The café is good and there is a well stocked shop. Great location for the beaches and tourist spots in Suffolk. If there is one thing they could improve, that's the time taken when they have takeaway food evenings, other than that really good.

We returned, with friends, for our third trip to Haw wood farm. We have always enjoyed how clean and lovely the facilities are. I was very disappointed this year at how rude the staff were. Staff challenged and refused to serve those not wearing a mask in the little shop without regard for hidden disabilities. Masks are no longer mandatory and people should not have to have sunflower lanyards in order to avoid rudeness and embarrassment. The covid rules in place (one way system) was ridiculous and appeared to be there for a tick box exercise. Common sense out of the window. No hand sanitiser beside water taps/play ground which would have been a better use of money/their time. As a group we fully support, respect & follow covid precautions! The showers & toilets were very clean but the water quite cold making showering unpleasant. The play area was great for kids. Camp site has little added extras such a fire pits (to hire)

Thank you for your review and feedback, There is a mixture of messages here as you say you support, respect and follow covid precautions, but the pre arrival infomation you recieved before arriving very clearly states that we will continue to enforce our masks in the shop and washing up area policy and you would have again been told this at check in. As you say it is a small shop and we have lots of young staff who have not had a chance to be fully vacinated yet so we are doing our best to protect them. We also do have 6 hand sanitizers around the building and one exclusive one for the playground and another for the chemical waste area. Thanks again Hawwood Farm

My daughter and I have just returned from our first ever camping trip to Haw Wood and already can’t wait to return! In all honesty I wasn’t sure I was a “camper”, but with staycations in such high demand this year and camping seeming to be the only option that isn’t charging the same price for just me and a child as a family of 4+ I thought we’d give it a go, and after staying at Haw Wood I’m definitely a convert! Every member of staff we met was cheerful, kind, and amazingly helpful (despite my probably very stupid questions!), and despite it being fairly busy on our arrival we were greeted with such cheerfulness it really got the holiday mood started! We were shown to our amazingly spacious pitch (we had a 4 person tent with a living area and porch and my fiesta and could’ve fitted both in twice over at least!), and pitches in our field were arranged so that you could all angle away from each other but lots of open space for kids to play together too - a far cry from the crammed in pitches on top of each other that I remember from my childhood! Facilities were fab - great play park, lovely shop and cafe, and we’d bought logs/borrowed a fire pit which was on our pitch on arrival with the logs brought round once we’d got the tent up due to some bouts of torrential rain, so well thought through! Toilets and showers were clean, and despite the site being full never had to wait, and family rooms were great to save trying to shower myself and a 5 year old between cubicles! The site is brilliantly maintained - clean and tidy with lots of beautiful surroundings to explore and things like the sunflowers dotted around the place have such a lovely feel! Lots of reviews seem to mention the 10-8 quiet time negatively but it’s brilliant - I was sat out until gone 10, as were a few others, but quietly, and it was so lovely to then be able to get to bed without lots of noise, everyone around me seemed to be respecting this so didn’t witness it being enforced but as it’s a family site it would’ve been incredibly disruptive to have had parties going on until the early hours and so to me it seems a positive that this will be enforced if required! COVID regulations were also sensible and appropriate - we felt very safe but still felt relaxed and not on edge about it all! Also in a great location for trips out - Framlingham castle was a favourite for my little one, and southwold, dunwich and aldeburgh are lovely beaches! Thank you so much to the wonderful team for such a fab stay, we can’t wait to come back soon!
