The Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa is celebrated for its warm, attentive service and pristine cleanliness, with guests frequently applauding the twice-daily room service and immaculate grounds. While the resort's diverse atmosphere and luxurious amenities, including various dining options and water activities, are highly regarded, some guests feel the rooms could benefit from modern updates. Despite the convenience of its location, mere moments from the airport via speedboat, the value is a point of contention due to the high costs, particularly for food and unexpected charges.

With an ideal location 15 minutes by complementary boat ride from the airport, this true price right location has attentive and friendly staff that cares most of the guests needs. Asad welcomed us and gave us the best tour of hotel Everyone was just as nice. We had a room with a small pool over the water that was heavenly. With all the taxes and breakfast we paid US$850 a night for three people as there was a $100 third person supplement. We caught fish by line fishing by hand and ate it fresh in the restaurant that night, feed sharks, snorkels right from the. room to see amazing fish, went snorkeling and saw turtles and thousands of colorful tropical fish, are great food and enjoyed joyous drinks. Only the hotel is on the island so all food and drinks comes from the hotel, but compared to a big city like San Francisco, the prices are reasonable, especially for the view. I recommend the Sea Salt restaurant where fish and sharks swim almost beneath you as you eat dinner as they are attracted by the light. And also try scuba (you can get certified) sailing, paragliding or Jetskis. Wow. So much to do.

My husband and I stayed at the Sheraton Maldives this past week and I must say I was extremely impressed from start to finish. It was my husbands birthday and we were greeted at the airport with a Happy Birthday sign personalized with his name. We took the boat over to the island and the check in process was seemingly easy. We got in at 9am and our room was ready for us. We stayed in the over water bungalow with the plunge pool. As we were escorted to our bungalow when the door opened we were pleasantly surprised as the resort had a “happy birthday scott” spelled out on the bed with champagne on ice and a cake also saying happy birthday. We bought a package that included breakfast, massages at the spa, and dinner at the restaurant. The dinner was a three course dinner and it was amazing. They had us out by the water secluded for a private birthday dinner and the chef came out to greet us. The resort was quiet not a lot of people so everyday we had the beach and pool area to ourselves. The massage at the spa was amazing we felt so relaxed. The breakfast menu had many options to choose from and I liked that everything was made fresh in front of you. The resort grounds were extremely clean and one big thing I loved was that no matter where you are on the island the WIFI service was the best!!!!! Doesn’t matter if your on the beach or in your room the WIFI works everywhere with strong signals. There was a guy his name was Jamal and he was soooo sweet. He tooks us on a tour of the island and he was very personable. He left a lasting impression my husband and I. We shared stories and laughs with him on a daily basis. We took amazing pictures as the resort had so many scenic options. We also did the jetskii excursion which was a lot of fun. We were sad to go but would definitely return in the future. The manager would also checkin with us from time to time which was great. Overall we were treated like royalty and you don’t get that everywhere so I would definitely recommend this resort!

I spent a couple days at this resort. Before those days, we stayed on Malë. There is absolutely no comparison. From the warm welcome at the airport, the stellar check in, to the daily excursions and outstanding meals, the Sheraton Maldives gets a two thumbs up from me. The entire island was absolutely magnificent. It was extremely clean! The gardens are kept meticulously manicured. Our beachfront deluxe with two queens was everything I had hoped and more! The extras that came with the room really solidified how I felt about the property. It was just an A+ accommodation. They have complimentary breakfast for two, complimentary snorkel gear, AND a relax lounge for after you check out, before the boat takes you to the airport. The water was crystal clear/turquoise and the views were like a dreamy postcard. The food served at the restaurant was amazing as well! They really know how to pamper their guests! This place s exactly what you get when you think of the Maldives. The rooms are affordable for everything that is offered. I would come back here over and over again!!!!

To start with, I am a platinum member with Bonvoy and to be honest I never write reviews but I am now because I have no other way to vent out my frustration.

I went on my honeymoon and booked for three days. As a platinum member, I am entitled for a welcome gift and a complimentary upgrade and I got nothing on the top of that I had a wait for 2 hours to get a room and the hotel was on 50% occupancy. I felt that staff was racist and that’s why we did not get room and they were telling us that I arrived earlier than the check in time. However, there were two English couples with us who immediately got rooms.

Then, they said they will give us an upgrade next day and our room will be changed between 9.30 AM to 11.30 AM and asked us to call the staff once we pack our bags. So, as requested, we packed and called and they said room is not ready yet then we waited and called again after an hour, someone answered the phone and said they will send someone to help us change the room and then we waited for that person but no one turned up and we called again and again and finally after so much of struggle we finally go the room but no apology from the hotel for this kind of treatment.

We thought now we can relax but that wasn’t gonna happen. I went for dinner in the night, we reached restaurant called Masala Hut at 9.45 PM and the closing time was 10.30 PM and we wanted to sit by beach but the Hostess said we cannot and I asked why she said they are closing the restaurant but there were people sitting out there and then I demanded to see the manager but she even denied that. Then, I told her that I will sit only outside because there are people sitting then she replied that she will not serve. So I put a request on the Bonvoy app someone came and took our order and we had dinner.

Next day, we order food in the room but the food quantity and quality are not worth talking and on the same night when we ordered dinner staff said those things are not available. Then, I ordered a pizza and when I asked can you make it according to my choice they simply denied.

There were so many things which things happened, like things missing in the toiletries, no update to customers, no apologies, no action even after complaining, no proper room service etc.

Then finally the time had arrived that we will check out and leave this horrible experience behind. So while checking out, no body even asked how was the stay but still I thought to share the feedback but that was my biggest mistake.

Guy named Mohammed came and said he is the manager and tried intimidate me and started questioning me instead of apology. He said why did I not complain? So I replied I did complain and he said that I am lying I did not do anything now why I am I doing at the time of check out so I showed him the proof on the app because I raised two requests of complaint on the app and then still he did not apologise and just walked out of conversation. We felt so embarrassed and frustrated with this whole experience that the hotel had ruined our honeymoon.

No body deserves this kind of service.

I visited this place for 3 days stayed at the over water bungalows, its absolutely amazing. the location very close to the airport so one doesn't have to worry about the long boat ride. the resort is built in a very sophisticated manner where once can enjoy the ocean as much as he can enjoy the luxury provided by the hotel. They provide complimentary wine and chocolates for the couples on honeymoon. they even give the snorkelling equipment if you know to use it as long as you stay at the resort. The food is one thing you will not be disappointed, one can find every kind of cuisine and enjoy its authentic taste. there lots of water sports but have to pay for those, would highly recommend to try few as it the experience is surreal. the staff is another major plus here, always a smile and constantly greeting when ever you see them, please few off them of good photographers too(especially a girl name Katrina who took some wonder-full picture of us). Speaking of photography the resort had plenty of location where one can take beautiful couple and solo pics, on top of that the resort have their own photographer who would capture few wonderful moments for you, even print one for free. special thank to Mr Fittey our photographer and Ms Moshi who gave us good deal of photo album. I hope to be coming back but for a longer stay.

went with my family for four days was a perfect choice :)

Very close to the male airport (approx 15min) with speed boat... We took a villa with a private pool.

They have some water sport activities for free and others you need to pay.

Our booking was half-board which was sufficient, and we paid for some light snacks as room service or from beach bars/restaurants during the day.

There are several restaurants in the resort. For the half board, they change the food cuisine every day, so you don’t feel bored with the same food.

The spa was fabulous and next to the beach, so it’s something that you don’t want to miss

They have a clinic in the resort that can do PCR tests before you travel, but you need to book in advance

The room was spotless and modern :)

We stayed for four nights at the Sheraton. With the exception of a couple small details, everything on the property was excellent. The staff provided excellent service while not being overbearing. One example is how the maintenance/housekeeping carts always dimmed their headlights when guests were walking on the paths. The property is immaculately maintained and has enough space for all guests to find a place to socialize or a quiet spot on the beach. The price is a bit high for the average vacationer. The price difference for the larger rooms with pools is not all the large, but seems worth the upgrade. Where I think value is really made is in doing the all inclusive plan. If you don't plan on drinking alcohol and only eating breakfast (which seems to be a standard inclusion), then it may not be worth it. Otherwise, everything including side dishes come at a premium price. We found the included activities enjoyable, but wished they were better advertised both during and before the stay. The watersports company was great. Again, a little expensive compared to most places in the world, but the service made the money spent well worth it. We appreciate the Sheraton making our anniversary a special occasion and would highly recommend enjoying this well managed luxury resort.

It’s a beautiful resort but the customer service needs a lot of work. Once we checked into this resort we were faced with Super nice people upon checking but then when we were promised a birthday amenity that was not delivered we were given an attitude by the person who promised it. Ruben approved the amenity and then flat out said no because the birthday was not over the time that we had booked the stay for. Going to the Maldives is very expensive and not always when you are celebrating a special occasion do you celebrate on the same day that the occasion happens. He was rude and even ignored us at the elite members reception. He greeted every table except ours. That is not what I expect being a Marriott titanium member or even a Marriott guest. My choice of stay is always a Marriott and when faced with this type of customer service from some of their head staff is very disappointing.

Asking for room cleaning or even extra conditioner was faced with questions and challenges on the room cleaning service telling us that it was only one conditioner per room per day which makes no sense to me when you have three Women sharing a room.

Breakfast daily is delicious, there’s a great selection of menu items at the buffet. The staff is very nice, I noticed that they do not clear plates right away. This has happened multiple times where you’ll be sitting on the table where plates will be left.

Using the extreme sports, we booked a snorkel cruise which we truly enjoyed, I felt like we weren’t given the full information when we booked a cruise. We paid $150 for the cruise plus service fees which came out to almost $200 per person. The gentleman mentioned that there would be beer and wine and other foods. There was no vegetarian options so we were not able to eat and also there was no wine which was mentioned in the initial booking. After paying all that money we would expect at least to have a little bit of what was mentioned, when I asked the gentleman about it he said he never mentioned wine. Normally all the cruises I’ve taken there is an option for beer and wine. I only mention this because you’re paying over $20 at this resort for a drink.

The gift shop is super expensive, expect to pay close to $300 for one bathing suit.

Maybe I’m a little bit biased after traveling to many Mexican resorts, but here not all the staff even says hello to you when they pass you in the morning. To me that’s a sign of customer service and if this is supposed to be a five-star resort, I would expect a lot more than the type of treatment we are giving here.

Response from Sergio Arias Resort Manager, Other at Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa
Responded 27 Mar 2022
Dear barbiepatel, Greetings from Sheraton Maldives. Thanks for choosing to stay with us during your recent trip to the Maldives; your loyalty is much appreciated. We regret to see that we had a little glitch with the communication regarding birthday amenities. It is a common practice to provide birthday amenities if the birthday actually falls during the stay; thanks for pointing this out, we will try to find a way to have a clearer communication not only about this but all the points you have mentioned. We have also noticed a number of your comments regarding prices. We can reassure you that our prices are in line with resorts in the same category here in the Maldives. Once again, thanks for staying with us and taking some of your time to write this comment. Warm regards, Sergio

I have just got back from spending 4 nights at the Sheraton Full Moon and it was an amazing experience. We took the all inclusive package which was great value and well worth it. I would like to ask the management to look at the soundproofing on the Beach Front deluxe rooms as you can hear everything anyone says and the TV if its on especially if you are on the top floor. I must admit it did detract from the enjoyment being woken up at 7am by the neighbours kids shouting and the TV on. Back to the good bits though. The staff are brilliant (special thanks to Hoodh for looking after us all day by the pool) and the food is very good. Would I go back, yes definitely as it is not far from the airport (20 minutes on a boat) but Im would probably have a cottage. One more thing most of the over water villas are north facing so you wont get direct sunshine on the outside terrace which will be great from some people but not if you want to sunbathe all day by your private pool. Overall I loved it and would recommend it. If management could take a look at soundproofing those rooms it would be good though.

We stayed at Sheraton full moon resort and spa for 3nights/4 days and had an amazing experience. We were upgraded to an overwater with pool. The ocean is as clear as a glass of water with white powdery sand. We had fun snorkeling, saw fishes, baby sharks and stingrays pass by our bungalow. What’s special about this resort is not only the atmosphere but the employees that are working here. One of the managers, Karen Chua-Offisi, was very accommodating. She took care of us, made sure that our stay was enjoyable, and that we were happy and satisfied with the services until we left. She recommended some activities that we would enjoy and she was right! She’s really great and would give more than 5 stars to her. Shareef from the front desk was also very helpful, he gave us his whatsapp number so we could email for any questions. He answered even on his day off. Rifath from anchorage bar, Fawaz from the Feast buffet were very nice also. Employees here would greet good morning/afternoon when you pass by them. We would definitely go back to Sheraton not only bec of the resort but the employees working around it. We were sad to leave bec we really enjoyed our stay here. 5 star hotel- excellent accommodation and service!!!

Yes the water taxi was complimentary with our booking. It's a 15 min ride. When you land there's a team there you can ask under the Marriott board and they will direct you to the pier, which is just outside the airport.
