My husband and I stayed at TUI Magic Life Calabria for 5 nights in October 2023 and we had a truly wonderful time. It was our first experience of an all-inclusive holiday, and we are now converts, to say the least! The resort is only a 20 minute drive from the airport so it was very easy to hail a cab and just like that we were greeted warmly by the TUI team. It was less than an hour from the plane to the pool - the epitome of 'fly and flop'! We were very lucky to recieve a complimentary upgrade to the Private Lodge and I think this made the experience even more special. I would really reccommend the upgrade if it's in your budget and all of your party are 18+. We spent the majority of our time in the Private Lodge area. We loved the Pool Bar during the day and the Private Bar for a pre (and post) dinner drink! The rooms were pristine and when there was an issue with our A/C unit, we usued the app to log it and this was fixed the same day! The bed was a great size and the walk-in shower was dreamy. The Private Lodge buffet was a brilliant experience for every meal. All of the staff were lovely and the food was excellent quality. We had been excited to sample tha A La Carte options and (ironically) this was the only time we were less then happy with the food. Save yourself the trouble of making a booking at The Flavour, the Private Lodge Buffet is far superior with a much better ambiance! We had a lovely day down at the beach - the walk there is lovely, and the stretch of beach is very serene with beautiful warm water even in October! We didn't get around to making the most of the many activities included in the package as we were too busy relaxing - we're already talking about going back next year for a spot of archery and kayaking! We had a wonderful time here. We chose the adults only area which was worth the extra cost. A special mention to Anna Maria in the poolside bar. Very efficient and professional and at the same time very friendly. Even remembers your favourite drinks.

… well, not ordinary beer and I appreciate that most people who read this really won’t care but as somebody with a serious gluten intolerance running out of Gluten Free Beer was a big deal. Look the staff were lovely; the Guest Services team did their best to resolve the problem along with Isabelle 🫶🏻and the other Managers in the Private Lodge restaurant but the bottom line was that I couldn’t get a beer in any of the bars, well the Beach Bar had a couple of bottles which I was charged €6 each for and so did the Premium Bar. My lovely friend 🫶🏻 in the Premium Bar even went around the whole hotel searching and found 2 more, again €6 each ! Eventually the restaurant ran out too and no I’m not an alcoholic 😂 a day later somehow Isabelle managed to get some more delivered for that I am very grateful 💕. Having vacationed at MagicLife Fuerteventura many many times I wasn’t expecting the beer problem. There you are issued with a “GF Token” which you show at any bar or restaurant and they bring you some. They even stocked them up in the help-yourself fridge in the Private Lodge area. Why such a massive difference between two locations within the MagicLife brand I have no idea 🤷🏻♂️ Anyway I realise this will be very boring for most of you but it would stop us returning to Calabria (unless I knew the issue was resolved ?) and obviously I couldn’t recommend it to anyone with Coeliac disease. Otherwise we did have a lovely holiday; the hotel grounds are stunning and the Private Lodge area (effectively a hotel within a hotel) and being adults only was extremely tranquil. We couldn’t recommend the “General Population” for a couples vacation you really do need to book the Lodge. Food and drink generally was okay we only ate outside the Lodge once, just too noisy, so we accepted the smaller selection in the Lodge in exchange for peace and quiet. The Premium Bar was nice, yes you are paying on top having already paid for all inclusive but the service was outstanding and the lovely lady there was able to recommend some reasonably priced white wine that was a massive upgrade on the general wine served on the AI. The Staff here are generally fabulous, the odd grumpy barman but hey it was coming to the end of a long season. Special credit to Guest Services and the Restaurant team in the Lodge who were amazing as was Housekeeping 🫶🏻 We loved the entertainment; daytime archery 🏹 with Antonia 🫶🏻 was great fun and the evening shows and events were excellent; shout out to the “FABULOUS” and talented Marek & Dinah, Serge, Werde, Coco and all, top-notch dancing, singing, acrobatics and more 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. Who knows if there’s a positive response from Management we may be back next year … ball in your court ! All the best x …

Lovely gardens and so clean! Loved the relaxation area the most and of course the production shows! The entertainment team is so friendly. In particular Coco who shone on stage and always had the time to talk to us.

**Although we had a fantastic week, I do have to first mention that our final day/evening was spoiled by the large corporate group who arrived on the Friday. The company was called check24, and they pretty much took over the hotel with little respect for families on their holiday. They were very loud and rude - smoking extensively around the kids and chugging beers from a beer bong. Really not acceptable from a family hotel. I really hope the hotel take this feedback on board as this is the only thing that would put me off rebooking** Have just returned from a fantastic week at this hotel. Facilities are great, lots of included activities for adults and kids. Heated pool was ideal for this time of year as we found the main pool a bit too cold. Food was pretty good, and in particular thought the kids area was a brilliant idea and took the stress out of meal time with a toddler! Only negative really was the lack of included snacks outside of meal times, eg ice creams and crepes were all extra. There were often cakes in the fridge at the Wunderbar but would be nice to have had different options. Probably the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed at, the staff are constantly cleaning. Room quite basic but comfortable and super clean. Only downsides were the air con wasn’t great and no tea & coffee making facilities.…

We first visited TGL Calabria in October 2022 and loved it so much we took an extended family of 10 this time. Everyone had an amazing time. The resort has something for everyone. The three pool areas all offer something different. Our almost 2 year old loved them all. The beach is stunning and an oasis of peace and beauty. The sea is crystal clear, the shingle stone surface is perfect to clean off in seconds in the showers and the beach bar/restaurant has everything you could need. The rooms are great with modern bathrooms and comfortable firm beds. The activities offer rivals a Club Med resort for what is on offer and the quality of activity available. The gym is great. What makes this resort stand out above any that any of my family have visited is the cleanliness of it. Cleaning staff work tirelessly to keep it immaculate. One morning I was in the gym where three women were cleaning. I looked outside to the pool area to see a further 6 workers getting that area ready for the day. On a windy day a gardener even cleaned away the leaves! I believe the hotel has won awards for one of the cleanest hotels in Italy and it deserves the award. The food offer overall is fantastic. The Buffett restaurant can keep you well nourished for three meals a day if you choose. The two A La Carte restaurants offer an alternative to the Buffett. We didn’t enjoy La Flavour where the service was slow and food wasn’t any better than the buffet but Tratoria was fantastic and we had a lowly meal in there. The pizzas in the buffet restaurant are incredible and freshly cooked by the minute. We have always got on brilliantly with all of the staff at the resort but a huge shout out to our favourites in the main restaurant and bar of Antonella and Gianpiero. Our daughter loved all the staff and loved interacting with them all day long. She misses the pancake and omelette men who were especially kind to her. We are there when the Check24 guests arrived and it didn’t cause any problems as the resort was about to close for the season. If anything it just made the final day/evening a little more lively. Pizzo is a lovely quaint village/town and worth a short visit. Tropea is stunning if you are happy to travel a bit further. We’ll be back in October 2024. We are here during the last week of the season (October). We are lucky enough to have a few very warm days but also a bit of rain. Although this Sunday the resort closes until spring the staff still do their best to provide a good experience. You do notice it as speciality restaurants are no longer available. Unfortunately today a very large German company group(3001-500 people) from Check24 arrived which can best be described as loud, drunk, and rude. At times it felt like a frat party with drinking games and we even saw them drinking beers through a funnel and hose. It also felt like 3/4 of the people were from the company. Especially considering that certain facilities had closen it was extremely busy at the restaurant and bar. Check24 took over the resort and turned it into their personal corporate party. As I thought this was a “family” resort this was very unwelcome. You don’t want your kids watching young adults “chugging” beers. Considering when you visit there won’t be such a company invasion(although possible), I agree with most other reviews. Food is okay( not great but well prepared), although other all-ins might have a wider selection. Resort is clean and well kept. Same goes for the rooms. The main pool is cold in October but if you’re lucky with the weather then it’s doable. Staff is quite friendly and works hard. Only the people in the TUI office seemed very disinterested. The beach is a stone beach and okay for swimming but not great. There were definitely insufficient beds at the beach when the company arrived there today. I would definitely recommend renting a car at the airport and not at the resort. As is with the cheaper all-ins you have to pay extra for most things (water sports/snacks/etc). Most guests are german. And that means that the communication is also mainly also then in German. This was our first experience with the Magic Life concept but as it was extremely busy after the company invasion we doubt we will again choose this concept. …

We had a wonderful stay in the private lodge section of the hotel, quality staff, accommodation, food and facilities. The beach is beautiful and the water very calm, even in October. The place is kept immaculately clean and the garden areas are very lovely. Our room was spacious and lots of storage space. We were lucky to have a ground floor food looking out over the gardens. These rooms are the sunniest and therefore brightest for sitting out on the patio. We ate at each of the speciality restaurants, the lodge was our favourite, however the buffet food was also of high quality and varied. Being near the end of the season, we had no difficulty in finding a sun bed by the pool or at the beach. In fact, we were spoilt for choice. If, like me you are not blessed with great height, the adult pool gets very deep very quickly so you may wish to bring a floatation help so you can talk with other guests without constantly paddling to keep afloat.…

A Fabulous holiday. The resort Staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The resort itself was immaculately clean. We stayed in the Private Lodge which was perfect - beautiful well tended gardens . Great walk through a forest to the beach. Food was delicious. We will return!
