We stayed for one night at the beautiful Goss Hall (wish it had been longer). We were greeted by the most charming host (Maggie) who showed us to our perfectly appointed room which was easily the equivalent of a good 4* hotel. We had delightful views of both the lake and countryside from our room, Sebastapol. In the morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast which included gluten free options. This is certainly more than “B&B” and we look forward to returning as soon as we are fortunate enough to do so.

We were lucky to stumble across this amazing farmhouse during our search for somewhere to stay during our wedding close to the venue, We originally booked for myself to stay the night before and the newlyweds the night after, for our first wedding date two weeks into the first COVID lockdown. Maggie was so kind to have kept in contact all the way through our next few booking requests to ensure we did not need to worry. I arrived at this very special place and spent the most relaxing night with amazing surroundings and wildlife before heading to my wedding the next morning having settled my stomach with a very tenderly cooked breakfast. My new wife and I arrived after our wedding for our final night, to have another morning of delightful breakfast and experience of a wander around such beautiful grounds, for us to be able to express our thoughts of the day before together in such bliss. We cannot thank Goss Hall enough, Mr & Mrs Earwaker

We was very disappointed that we had booked and paid for the Sebastopol room, in particular in the Manor House, a year ago for two nights, only to be told on arrival that we couldn’t have it due to it being allegedly damaged! We were told we’d been moved to one of the rooms in a separate building. We had initially booked the B & B because I wanted to stay in the actual Manor House! Although the replacement room was adequate it was £10 a night cheaper. We were offered no refund for this and was begrudgingly given only £10 back for one night after we queried this. Our disappointment was further enhanced when we were told the breakfast menu was limited and we weren't able to have a full English which is advertised on their website as part of the price. Also there was no complimentary toiletries as was advertised on their web site. We did not feel very welcomed!

Wow a score of 2 when the majority of all our other reviews are a 10. I honestly think any future guests will realise this is more about being vindictive than a realistic, objective review. We have already replied to your other review which you posted on QBook just outlining that you were not actually due a refund. This was explained to you however, you have clearly chosen to ignore this. However, because of your rude and aggressive demeanour we refunded the £10.00 as we did not want the confrontation To be clear, we do not advertise a full English on our website.

I would not hesitate to book at Goss Hall in the future. We sadly only stayed one night over The Open Championship weekend. Maggie couldn’t have been more attentive and helpful with all of my questions leading up to this stay, even booking us a dinner reservation in Sandwich. The Sebastopol room is large, lovely, and of course very clean. Excellent experience!
