The Berghotel Derby is on the top part of Fiesch. The hotel looks over a beautiful little valley with a romantic river. We think that it is much nicer than being in the middle of the village, with noise and crowds. You will be nicely welcomed. The restaurant and breakfast room is Swiss chalet-style. We absolutely loved this place.

The most idyllic, cosy and extraordinary place I have ever stayed at. You are taken back in time at this hotel with the antique wooden furniture - and of course everything is also completely clean! The staff/owners are so sweet, kind and helpfuland have great knowledge of the area. You really could not ask for a better service. Free cake,... More

The Derby is a small hotel on the outskirts of Fiesch, but only about a 15 minute downhill then uphill walk from the train station. However make sure you have directions, as it can be a bit difficult to find. Had a pleasant stay there, starting with a very warm welcome and easy check-in. This hotel doesn’t offer dinner but... I'd flown into Switzerland at lunchtime on a Friday and was headed for Uri for a weekend of walking. Despite travelling through Fiesch more times than I can remember, I've never stayed there in 35 years of Swiss travel. So I booked the Berghotel Derby and wasn't disappointed. They didn't do an evening meal (they have a tie-in with another... More

This is a warm and friendly place to stay in a beautiful area. As other reviewers have said; Michelle and her daughter (Christina) are wonderful hosts and work very hard to ensure that their guests enjoy themselves. The rooms are clean and pleasant and Michelle's wonderful art work decorates the hotel throughout. Breakfast is continental but substantial and the permanent... More

This hotel is an excellent place to stay in Fiesch. Probably one of the most friendly welcoming hotels I have stayed in for a long time. The rooms are bright and airy and a good breakfast is provided. Although the hotel does not offer dinner, the owners make plenty of good suggestions for where to eat. Michele and Christine are... Absolutely loved this hotel. Well, it's actually more of a chalet I guess - warm, inviting and bedecked in geraniums. The owner Michelle, and her daughter were so friendly and helpful. We wanted to walk around the absolutely brilliant Aletsch Glacier and had a million questions on the logistics. All were answered patiently, accurately and with a genuine smile. Breakfast... More

Friendly staff, small but comfortable room. They cooked gluten free bread for my breakfast which was quite nice, and the breakfast was a good meal with plenty of options. My room faced the waterfall, and noise of the river made it a little hard to sleep at night.

We stayed here one night in early September so we could go up and have a look at the glacier in the morning. Rooms are basic but spacious, with a small flat screen TV with a few English channels. Our room overlooked the river, which was no louder at night than a typical hotel air conditioner (there was no air-con... More

Arriving by car we appreciated the large parking area by the hotel. Although we were early our room was ready for us and we were shown in by Phineka who was extremely friendly and very helpful. Our room was one of the "superior" ones on the ground floor with a patio area and garden. There were two sun loungers, two... More
