Just one good point is walking distance to the Toya lake Expensive ryokan, but room facilities are very poor. No kettle, cups in room. Guests are not allowed to use dinning room to get hot water to drink. Host is very cold, not friendly. Tatami has mold smell

Daiwa Ryokan was near the JR station. It is a good location but the rooms were decently heated. The corridors were especially chilly in the subzero temperatures in December (they really should on the heaters there). Otherwise there was a nice onsen there which we could enjoy. We

We loved our stay here. It's convenient to get around. Tatami style rooms very very clean and comfortable. Loved the hot spring here too. The owners are an elderly couple who doesn't speak much English but they were always smiling. Would definite stay here again if we come back.

It is a bit far from the bus terminal but acceptable distance. The room is super big, include a living room which can accommodate another 4 person at least. Our room is facing the lake, at night when the fireworks show started, we can view it very clearly from inside the room.

Daiwa seems suspended in time - service, decor, and prices set in the 1970s. For a stay at Toya onsen (Toya-ko) of up to three nights, Daiwa is more than adequate for most needs. Pricing is set at an extremely reasonable, if not amazingly cheap rate for the spacious room
