We would very much recommend this cottage to a couple or small family wishing to visit Norfolk. It has two bedrooms, a lovely garden and conservatory and is frequently visited by a family of ducks, hence the name.

Overall, my experience at Style Cottage was a very good one. I stayed over a two-day period and was very impressed with the owners, Christine and John. They were very friendly and accommodating, bending over backwards to make sure that my stay was pleasant. Details. My room was clean and tidy. It was a decent size with an on-suite bathroom plus I had access to a separate kitchen area. I didn't use it while I was there but it was nice, for future reference, to know it was there. One nice little touch in my room was something I've called 'Style Cottage Hints N Tips'. What are they? Little laminated cards dotted around the room/bathroom that contain useful nuggets of info and/or instructions. They're no more intrusive than similar instructions that you'd find in a chain hotel but I liked that small business owners put that level of afterthought into how they present their service and add to the autonomy their customers have during their stay. Christine and John, as I mentioned earlier, were extremely friendly and through chatting to them got to find out how much of a labour of love Style Cottage is. In the dining area they've got photos of the building's development and you may be surprised to find out that a significant chunk of it was literally built from the ground up, which for me added to its character. Would I stay there again? Yes. Would I recommend it to anyone else? Definitely…

We found the owners to be extremely pleasant to deal with. Couldnt be any friendlier and the room was good value for the money. As a businessman who has stayed in many places I found it to be a great little place.

We had the great pleasure of staying at John & Christine's Style Cottage for a weekend recently. Everything about the cottage was superb - extremely clean room; great facilities; excellent breakfast and lovely people. Couldn't ask for more!

We stayed 4 nights and it was a perfect break in our action packed itinerary to visit family during a 2 week visit to England. Hosts were super friendly and welcoming but not over the top and in your face. Our room was in the annex at the back so we had a nice little patio. There were coffee and tea making facilities in the room, plus a kitchen that could be used if needed (shared). This was very handy for keeping our snacks and wine! Room small but adequate for our needs and nice and clean. Really enjoyed the breakfast - it was cooked to order from a menu that you checked off the night before. We walked into Downham Market several times as well as to Wimbotsham where my family lived. It was great location for our needs and I really enjoyed the stay. Will definitely stay again and would recommend to friends and family. Thank you Chris and John for everything. …

Booking was easy and the welcome we received on arrival was warm and friendly. The hosts, Chris and John went out of their way to ensure we had all we needed during our stay. There was adequate off-road parking and we were given a key to the guest's annex so that we were able to come and go as we pleased. We were allocated the room to the rear of the property which was generous in size with views through french doors into the beautifully maintained garden. The bedroom and en-suite bathroom were spotlessly clean and the double bed was very comfortable. There was a separate kitchen in the annex for guests to use which we found very useful - it was kitted out with a microwave, fridge, plenty of cupboards and a sink. Breakfast in the dining room was a joy - juices, a range of cereals and fruit plus a well prepared full English if you want it. We ended up going backwards and forwards to Downham Market over a period of three weeks and we stayed at Style Cottage every time. The owners are a charming couple who go out of their way to deliver a warm welcome, a comfortable stay and a quality experience…

Thank you so much for your glowing review and chuffed to bits that you enjoyed your stay. We too enjoyed your company, despite the circumstances of your visit to Downham.

We were invited to a wedding reception at the Red Barn and wanted a small B & B for the Saturday evening. After searching the Internet we decided on Style Cottage. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and shown to a beautiful and comfortable room with plenty of Tea and coffee. There is also a fridge in the kitchen next door with fresh milk if you don't like the little pots. Style Cottage is an old property with a modern feel and furnished in keeping with the character of the cottage. On Sunday morning we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. The Proprietors were always very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We would highly recommend anyone to visit this very reasonably priced B & B. If we are in the area again and need accommodation we would certainly return to Style Cottage…

This was our first visit to a lovely little B&B in the town where I grew up. It was very convenient for visiting family locally and easy to find being well signposted on the main Kings Lynn road. The room was reasonably compact but fitted with all the usual amenities including good wi-fi and a very comfortable bed. There was also a kitchenet that was available for guests to use (we didn’t). We stayed in the room facing the main road but this being Downham and New Year’s Day there wasn’t much traffic after 11 so not a problem (lighter sleepers might want to request the room at the rear). Breakfast was ordered the night before, I had the full English which was very nicely presented and well cooked. Several cereal varieties were available along with toast, tea, coffee & orange juice. I’m sure Chris would have been more than accommodating if we had any other requests but we didn’t need anything else. I look forward to staying there again next time I’m in town.…

This was our second stay at Style Cottage - what other recommendation is needed? It is very comfortable and welcoming. The room was cosy and the en suite was well equipped. The breakfast was delicious and there was a good choice.
