Acharavi Mare Hotel's beachfront setting with picturesque sea views is a highlight for many guests, although some find the location a tad secluded. The atmosphere is often described as vibrant and welcoming, with the layout reminiscent of a quaint Greek village and evening entertainment that keeps things lively. While the rooms are generally praised for cleanliness, issues with size and maintenance are not uncommon. Travelers appreciate the pools and beach access, yet struggle with securing sunbeds and express discontent with the value, pointing out subpar food and drink quality. Staff are lauded for their attentiveness, though housekeeping receives mixed reviews.

We have recently returned from a week long stay here and can honestly say the hotel is not as bad as some of the reviews on here.

Pros:
The staff are so friendly and really go out of their way to make you comfortable and looked after.

The food even though slightly repetitive there was plenty of choice for even the fussiest eaters (my children) who managed to find something every time we ate here.

The hotel room was spacious and had enough room for a family of 4 (we had a two bedroom family room)

The grounds of the hotel were beautiful and well kept.

The location is perfect we could walk to the main town of acharavi and also to Roda which had the pirates bar which was really nice for a meal and cocktails! We also hired a car for a few days and managed to see a lot of corfu which I would recommend.

The pools were cold (but it is October?!) I didn’t try them but my kids and husband went in lots of times and had no complaints!

Now for the cons:
Our room even though spacious and clean to an extent had a few snags for example the air conditioning did not work whilst fine in the colder months would of been hell in the height of summer, our shower flooded every time you used it and the cupboards seemed to all be hanging by a thread.

The cleaners were actually pretty awful to be honest our room only got cleaned twice on our week long visit and they never replaced our bottle of water and they clearly had a restriction on toilet roll as this was never replaced and as a 4 person family we had no choice but keep asking reception for more toilet roll because clearly the two rolls that were already in the room when we arrived was never going to last a week?

The all inclusive drinks were absolutely vile and honestly undrinkable even the soft drinks tasted mainly of old fizzy water we ended up buying drinks from the shop and keeping them in our fridge at the room. Which is ok if you don’t mind spending money on drinks when you’ve already paid all inclusive which we didn’t mind but can imagine this being an issue for other visitors!

All in all it was an incredible cheap holiday working out around £400 per person with a private transfer thrown in. So you kind of do get what you pay for and in my opinion for the price it could have been a lot worse! However I probably won’t go back but that’s just my preference we have stayed in lots of hotels around the world and there is a lot better out there!

Having read previous reviews I wasn't looking forward to my stay, in fact I almost cancelled the holiday....however I am glad that I continued with my holiday.

The room I had was a good size and there was a double wardrobe with a safe at the bottom. The room was nice and the bed very comfy. The showeroom/toilet was very small with an open shower which flooded the entire showroom. We needed to dry the floor with towels so that we could use the toilet without soaking our feet...this wouldn't have been to much of an issue, however the maids didn't want to replace the wet towels everyday!
I travelled in October at the end of the season. Acharavi was quiet at this time and the majority of the restaurants around the hotel were closed for the season. Thankfully the food in the hotel was much better than I expected. There was always a decent selection of meats, plenty of fresh salads, a pasta choice and freshly made pizzas. Whilst the food got a bit repetitive over 10 days I was always able to find something good to eat. The all inclusive soft drinks weren't great, the cola particularly bad.
The hotel has two pools, an infinity pool at the front with lovely views across to Albania and another pool at the back of the hotel. If you want a lounger at the infinity pool expect to get up very early as beds were often reserved from 7am if not from the night before.
This holiday cost me very little and I feel that the accommodation was more than adequate. I definitely feel that I received excellent value for money.
I probably won't return, however if your after a relaxing break and find a good deal I would recommend.

Just arrived back after a week at Acharavi Mare, we were a bit apprehensive before going after reading the mixed reviews but can honestly say that our experience wasn’t as bad as expected. We arrived and were upgraded to a sea view room right near the pool and the staff couldn’t have been any friendlier on arrival. The rooms were alright but not amazing, quite scruffy and not overly clean. Housekeeping were a bit hit and miss, we didn’t get fresh towels and toilet rolls etc every day and had to ask for these on multiple occasions. They also weren’t cleaned for the duration of our stay. There was a safe and a minibar and tea and coffee facilities but these were unfortunately dirty and not replenished. The food was ok at breakfast and lunch, and was always hot, but we did choose to eat out most nights due to there not being much choice at dinner. The hotel got busier towards the end of the stay and you did need to get up early to reserve beds by the infinity pool but we found ourselves going to the beach everyday. The staff at the beach bar were lovely, especially Dimitri. Again, the drinks were ok, not great for all inclusive and not much choice. The location is amazing, with a nice walk along the beach into Roda and some really nice restaurants especially Woodys and Medusa, highly recommend. Overall, it wasn’t as bad as some reviews I’ve read but wouldn’t say it’s the best all inclusive I’ve been to and not the best experience with the overall cleanliness etc.

We stayed here from 12 June to 2 June 2022. Firstly the staff were very friendly and tried there best, that’s the positives over.We paid extra for a sea view room to be told there were none available
There is no Al la carte restaurant, Non kids club, no poolside snack bar, only one pool and the beach is stoney not sandy. The staff did not seem to know what to do most of the time especially in the restaurant, at times it became quite chaotic and dangerous the way they rushed around with trying to top up the food.
We were told our room would be made up with clean towels daily this did not happen and we had to repeatedly ask for this to be done. We had to wait two days to get pool towels and found the only way to get a sun bed on the beach was to go down at 7.30 and put towels on our beds something I have never had to do before and wholeheartedly disagree with.
The whole hotel just seemed that it had opened far too early and that the promise of some of the

I went here for my birthday with my mum in October 2022 planning to stay for 4 nights .. as we went to check in we realised straight away that the pictures on the site we booked through were nothing like what it looks like in person . The grounds were unkept and shabby and the pool area looked dirty .. we then went through to reception and it seemed a lot nicer and the lady on the reception desk was lovely and polite and welcoming so we thought oh maybe it’s just outside that’s not great . Then we were shown our room … !!! After being bombarded with flies and the smell of dirt we couldn’t actually believe this was a four star hotel . For one the room hadn’t been cleaned in a long time never mind before we checked in . There was dirt and blood on the floor , marks all over the walls where the flies had been swatted . No head board for the bed . Stains all over the vanity area and the toilet area and shower were filthy . I wiped some dirt off the floor and went to reception to show them as I was so upset , I stayed calmed and complained to be replied with .. and I kid you not “ well if we move you to another room there will probably be loads of flies in that one too “ by a lady who seemed to be a supervisor or manager on duty at that time . She then sent the cleaner to our room after saying “ we will try and clean the room to your standard “ .. i couldn’t quite believe how she was speaking to me and how much Of a poor attitude she had and I didn’t raise my voice or be in any way unreasonable to her considering the situation . The cleaner spent an hour and half to clean the room to what you would expect checking in and then the flies went because the balcony area was now clean and swept after having all the spilt alcohol and tissues cleaned up . We had to stay there that night and went for food .. which we couldn’t eat . Not one serving tray had a cover on , all the meat dishes had a congealed layer of gunk on and there was bugs on some of the plates . One guy who was staff was walking around just looking at a load of spilt food and gunk on the side and never once cleared it up . It was that bad that me and my mum got the giggles in the end when an elderly bar man was quite inappropriate with the way he acted towards me because we just thought at what professional hotel would there be this much wrong it was like faulty towers !! You just couldn’t write it . Luckily the travel firm did check out charges and we moved to a beautiful hotel 10 mins up the road the next day to start the holiday properly. Honestly the worst experience I have had with a hotel ever and I’ve stayed at one and two star hotels in the past on girls holidays that have been basic but clean at least . The overall service was horrendous . Do not stay here .

So let’s start this review with some positives…
Kitchen and restaurant staff were always friendly and attentive. Special mention to Baptiste and Maria.
There was a wide range of food, especially traditional Greek dishes and salads.
The bar man in the reception bar was lovely and made nice drinks. Always nice to chat to.
The young woman on reception was lovely and helpful.

Now the negatives…
First arrived to a rude receptionist, no warm welcome from a short haired woman. Entirely unhelpful and often dismissive of our concerns.
We were shown to our rooms and found storage to be insufficient. And whilst the cleaner came in each day the floor was never cleaned, our bed sheets were not changed for over a week despite going to reception twice to get these changed. They never were. We were often left with insufficient amount of towels and again had to go to reception repeatedly to fetch some. Including a bath mat. We had a bath mat 3 out of the 10 day holiday. This was very annoying as the bathroom was basically a wet room.
Don’t get me started on the sunbeds situation. Unless you wake up at 4am to put out your towels you will have to lie on the rocks for the day or pay elsewhere along the beach road. Despite the policy in place, the hotel staff did nothing to deal with the issue. With complaints about this from multiple holidaymakers.
The cleanliness of the main pool was terrible, and the toilet/shower area was also disgusting. Definitely not up to a 4 star standard.
On multiple occasions our room had been entered by staff members without our permission on a night, without informing us. They had moved the furniture which frightened us as two young female travellers.

A member of the day bar staff on the main pool would not leave us alone. Asking us to go for a drink with him, and he wouldn’t take no for an answer. This made us feel quite uncomfortable around the pool and beach as we were constantly watched. Unfortunately this did ruin the end of our holiday as we tried to avoid certain areas of the hotel.

Whilst overall we did enjoy our holiday, we would not recommend this hotel to stay in acharavi.

We have just had 7 fantastic days at the Acharavi Mare, we arrived late in the night and were welcomed by the night porter who helped with our bags and served us cold plates and drinks.
We had booked 2 rooms (adjoining) but when we arrived they were not together, the NP advised us to sleep in the rooms as they were and then see the Receptionist in the morning.
The following I went to reception where I first met Yonka and Marios, they do a lot here at the hotel and are very helpful. They were able to move our 2nd room to opposite our Ist room.
The rooms are nicely done out and have everything you need but they are small, think Central London rooms where you can barely swing a cat around!!! Rooms are perfect for couples, anyone thinking about bringing young family the standard garden rooms maybe on the small side. I believe you can pay extra for other rooms which may have more space.
The hotel has been completely refurbished following it being vacant for 15 years. The owners have done a good job and they have spent well on the hotel. When we arrived there was still one wing being worked on and you would often see trades people working on parts of the hotel, this didn’t impact our stay.
The hotel is in the beach front just across the beach road, however how the beach is the hotel is on the pebble beach not sand beach, so if you are looking for a spade and bucket holiday then you need to walk about 500m down the beach to find sand.
The food on offer here is fantastic, there is so much and the choice is good, we never went hungry. Even with 3 older children they never went hungry, freshly made pizza, fries and pasta dishes at all meal times.
The drinks are poor though, the post mix used at the hotel is not great and my kids didn’t like it and actually drank more water and juices because of it. The local beer is as you expect and there was plentiful wine and I am a Rose drink they had it on tap here.
There is entertainment most evenings either in the main bar or at the 2 pool bars. It was ok and having done a number of all inclusive holidays it is what you expect, local entertainers making a living.
The hotel is situated at the top of Acharavi and is about 1.25km from Roda which you can easily walk to on the beach road. It is a quiet area so if you like a bit of hustle and noise then Roda is perfect for families that want a change of scenery and food.
I really enjoyed my stay here at the Acharavi Mare and would recommend it, this is our first trip to Corfu and will definitely be back!

Pros:
Location is idyllic with access to the beach ( 10 metres across the street)
Staff are very friendly and attentive
Hotel room is basic, however is comfortable and cleaned regularly
Access to local bars ( Pirates Bar in the next town of Roda does a lovely breakfast for 8 euros)
Hiring of a car for 35 euros for a day which me and my partner found the idea much better than using public transport. We went to visit kalliopsi, which is a lovely fishing village about 20 minutes from the hotel and then we went to corfu town where there is a lot to do also. The lady who was with the car hire company was very informative and gave us highlights of the island so we are venturing to the left hand side of Corfu tomorrow.

Areas for improvement:
The food is nice and what you would expect for an all inclusive, however can be repetitive and not of the best quality ( the fish can be extra fishy and some of the meat can be rubbery and chewy)
Selection of drinks is limited- if you want your top shelves alcohol like Gordon's and smirnoff then you can pay 7 euros extra
When you first arrive you will be hit with 21 euros tax for staying the length of days, as we stayed 7 days this was the amount
The transfer from the airport is a phaff, route through the mountains and the transfer had no air con and was uncomfortable.

Overall, we are satisfied with the great service of the hotel and its staff. When reading the reviews, people need to be mindful this hotel has only been up and running for 6 months and things will not be perfect. Acharavi Mare, thank you for the fantastic hospitality and providing a relaxing break for me and my partner. I wish you all the best in your journey to becoming an even better hotel !

Love Kate and ciaran from Manchester 💗

Firstly, this is an honest review. We arrived for a ten night stay all inclusive stay. Upon check in as already advised on here you pay a €3 euro per night tax per room. When we eventually got to our room with one double bed and a sofa for three people at 1am we were not happy. We were told to wait until tomorrow morning to see the manager. We asked to see the manager about the room and were told this is a family room and the sofa is a bed for ten nights! Now, I don’t mind this for a weekend break but not a 4* all inclusive hotel for ten nights. I complained later that day and did move the next day. The food is not too bad really for what you pay on a positive note, the restaurant staff are very pleasant and speak good English. At times there are similar foods like salad, vegetables bread etc however, there is variety with Greek specials like Kleftico and Gyros for example.
The swimming pools are cold but acceptable. The grounds are not kept that clean and tidy. Lots of weeds in the gardens. The communal toilets at both pools are not cleaned as you would expect, often there is no toilet roll and a wet seat with no automatic lighting. The swimming pool areas are not cleaned either at the end of the day. As we moved rooms I noticed the room was not cleaned as I would of expected a 4* establishment. I complained as our bed sheets had not been changed in over five days! Bathroom not cleaned. The cleaner rushed in shouting problem room… I was not there however my husband was and did t reply to her as she was speaking Greek. I came back to the room later and the cleaner was around ( normally chatting in the complex) I explained I wanted the room cleaned as expected. She advised the toothpaste marks on the walls and sink are water marks?? They were not. She couldn’t be bothered to clean it basically. I have not been away to a hotel abroad or the UK and had to complain about a cleaner before. This was noted however not to a standard you would expect.
The resort is modern and a nice looking hotel. There are some positives. I read them and thought people are fussy. When you come here you understand. There is nothing really around. Acheravi is a small village about 20 mins walk with shops and bars etc. The beach is pebbles. Please read bevies booking. Beware of a two hour transfer too!

We have recently returned from this hotel. On a positive note, the location is stunning and the staff are friendly and helpful. I found the location good for the kind of chilled holiday I wanted. The hotel provided four double rooms for eight ladies, this was a bit of a shock but we accepted it as we arrived early hours of the morning.
The hotel had very pleasant surroundings, however this is no way four star. The bedrooms were not cleaned properly at all during our stay, the shower flooded the room if you were not really careful, furthermore we were left without towel’s, and when we enquired, we were just told there was issues with laundry! They did not seem to bothered that guests did not have towels to have a shower. The food in my opinion was pretty awful and not especially warm, I gave up with meals at the hotel, the drinks were also pretty rubbish. We heard that there were issues with the hotel, but as I have mentioned the staff were friendly and did try there best.
The pool areas are nice, however the flooring on the pool at the front of the hotel was very slippy. The public toilets around the pool area, had issues with lighting, and very fairly unclean.
This could be a nice hotel if they sorted there housekeeping out and stopped serving cold, awful food, and awful drinks.

Regardless the fact of reading a positive or a negative review, we do always encourage our guests to share with us their travelling experience, because only with this way we can improve ourselves. However, our hotel management strives to maintain and simultaneously upgrade its high services and all of us are frustrated that our attempt was not so obvious in your case. "Acharavi Mare" team has already made substantial changes and improvements and we would like to have one more chance at welcoming you back, in order to show you the facilities and services for which we are proud of. With our warmest regards, Guest Relations Department
