On the banks of the River Usk, we are a traditional Freehouse pub. We have modern, en-suite bedrooms, all with lovely views of the scenery surrounding us, two rooms also have views of the river. We are dog friendly and offer excellent pub food and a great selection of local real ales. Being only a short 10 minute walk into the nearby market town of Abergavenny you can relax and enjoy our peaceful location whilst benefiting from the wide selection of interesting independent shops of the town. We are on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. We welcome muddy boots and paws as well as cyclists. We offer secure lock-up and washing facilities for bikes.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We arrived on Saturday and had two rooms. The room we had had fantastic views of the bridge and river…lovely clean rooms but the absolute winner is the location. Right on the river Usk the beer garden is amazing overlooking the Castle Meadows. Lovely friendly staff and great value….we will be returning!!

Following on from my review of the Premier Inn and Brewers Fare having no beer, we walked to the Bridge Inn, about 10mins from the hotel. It's set next to the bridge over the River Usk.( A real torrent of a river that often rises to the garden level and sometimes into the pub. It was Sunday Evening and only the landlord, barmaid and a handful of customers were inside. We were made to feel very welcome. Everyone chatted to us. And the beer ? There was a good selection. The Wye Valley Brewery 'Butty Bach' was absolutely delicious. The pub also does B&B and food but currently aren't serving meals due to the recent flooding.

(writing on behalf of my wife and daughter). My daughter and I stayed here after attending a family wedding locally. Weren't too sure what to expect but it was lovely, and in my 7 years olds opinion it was amazing and fancy and we stayed in room number 1. Super clean in the room with lovely fresh, crisp bedding. Large selection for breakfast already in room, including fresh milk for a cuppa in the morning with also juice and yogurt in fridge and small cereal boxes, fruit and pastries. Even though we were on main road, traffic noise was minimum but ear plugs are provided. A hair dryer and mini sewing kit was also provided and handy. Will definitely come back with my husband and no children ☺️ Thank you for a lovely night.

The positives - Great location on the side of the river, I can't comment on the pub itself as we didn't use it, we just stayed overnight in a room. The room itself (number 1) was quite large and has the wow factor as you go through the door where a large bay window in front of you reveals a stunning view over the river and bridge. The bathroom was smallish but adequate and decorated nicely. The breakfast was already in the room, pain au chocolat and brioche bread with from the local supermarket. Jam, cereal, microwave porridge (milk in small fridge), yogurt and bananas. The negatives - the room was cold when we arrived late afternoon but ok. But when we arrived back from our event around midnight it was absolutely freezing! We tried turning the radiator up with no effect. The Inn was not occupied and we were the only guests. The toilet macerator made an awful noise! There was no-one in the Inn during the night and no-one to take payment in the morning, when we telephoned there was no answer.

This is a great little pub alongside the river Usk. We had a great walk along the river and had a drink in this very friendly pub. The landlord explained that the kitchens were not open when we called in on a Monday but we got some snack and a drink which was what we needed. Must return again soon.

This is a great pub on outskirts of Abergavenny. Great stop off for walkers, equally great for food. 1 of the best meas we have had in ages. Steak and ale pie was delicious. Owners ate so welcoming and friendly. Not many pubs around like this these days. One of our favourites by far
