The rooms and bathrooms were clean and quiet to sleep and there was a nice cheap breakfast. The location does take about an hour from Florence and if you want to visit Florence at night the buses don't work for that and you would have...More
I loved this place from the moment I got off the bus from Florence. I felt right at home in the hostel, and the staff are lovely. It's located in a sleepy town in the Tuscan countryside, within walking distance of free wine tasting, a...More

We did not came across any day tour starting from Ostello del Chianti or Tavarnelle. All tours start from Florence. The hostel would probably help you with the bikes but we dont think tour is an option. Between Tavarnelle and Florence their is a single bus. For us, we tried a walk on the highway. There were two nearby old towns on the way. We got to get inside a large farm in between and we did wine tasting. But it was a really long walk !!
