Detailed Reviews
The smart hotel is a clean small friendly hotel, the staff are only to willing to help, we enjoyed our stay. The food is fresh and tasty and we always found something nice to eat, however there was minimal choice and I did think the lunch menu was very minimal. .The hotel is like a nice travel lodge with people staying a night or two and moving on to other parts of the lake. There are not many facilities for children apart from a small pool. Arco is a very quiet town with a beautiful castle,, well worth a steep walk up and a 3.5 euro charge. We travelled most days further a field into Riva del Garda and beyond on the local buses they were excellent and at one euro each way you could not complain.

Arco is a beautiful town about 5km from Riva but dont let that put you off there are regular buses to Riva from a bus station just across the road costing €2 return. The views around Riva and Arco are just stunning. From Riva you can pay €22.50 for a ticket which enables you to hop on and off while visiting the other towns on the lake all day which i totally recommend. The stay at Arco smart hotel was a really great experience i can't thank the staff enough they all worked tirelessly for us to have a great holiday. The breakfasts and evening meals were amazing with a lot of choice so you would find something for your palate, i can't comment on lunch as it was on offer but we were out all day but i couldn't see it being any different from the other things on offer. The room was spotless as was the rest of the hotel. All the staff were helpful, friendly and totally lovely. I can honestly say you must visit lake Garda as the views are some of the most beautiful i have ever seen and if you do you won't do better than this hotel. This holiday will always stay with me again i thank the staff for all their hard work.

Nice hotel but could be better,
We stayed here with an all inclusive shearing holiday and on arrival was met by a wonderful male receptionist(sorry can't remember his name)
On recieving our room key card we went up and found we'd been given what I can only describe as the cleaning closet(room 305) the room was so small it was embarrassing, and to make it worse when I went to open the curtains to see what kind of view we had they came away from the rail, my wife had to rebuild the shower head and when I tried the Aircon it came off in my hand.
So down to reception I went and luckily we we're moved to another room and informed that the Aircon systems had been deactivated due to it now been there winter period (still in the mid to high 20's)
Right room sorted now down to the all inclusive or the somewhat lack of it for non-alcohol drinkers, the hotel didn't include alcohol free lagers in the deal and charged €3.50 a bottle for it so off to the local Aldi and 6x pack was bought for €6.
Now onto the food, for me been a meat eater I was happy with the selection but unfortunately for my wife who's a vegetarian there was little options other than salads, cold aubergine or courgette and the occasional pasta dish(I had to check these as some came with either tuna or chicken mixed through them)
Breakfast was the highlight of the day as it never changed and my wife loves scrambled eggs which was supplied every morning.
Unfortunately due the location of the hotel there was no entertainment on an evening as the local residents seemed to complain about any noise made from the hotel grounds but didn't mind if there neighbours made a racket at silly o'clock in the morning.
The local area around the hotel was a few small shops and a chemist at the rear of the hotel was a helpful addition. And a selection of small cafés and restaurants added to its charm, only drawback is the town is approximately 3.5k from lake Garda so you need to get a bus to Riva del Garda which we were told was only €2 each way.
Other than the shocking first room we were given the hotel is absolutely stunning and the staff can't do enough for you.

Hotel nowhere near 4 Star
The food leaves a lot to be desired, packed lunches very basic standard and the same every day, we stopped having them as were so poor.
None of the food is covered.
Dining room very lack lustre and characterless, with dead or dying plants everywhere
Bar was often left unattended whilst staff had dinner or performed other duties, as was the reception.
The pillows are of poor quality and only I on each bed. There was a spare in the wardrobe but no cover for it and, despite rooms been cleaned daily, no one had seen fit to put a cover on it! The sheet on the bed had a tear in it. Maid service daily but beds not made just quilts folded and left on bottom of bed. However, sheets did get changed once during our stay.
Hairdryer would not stay on unless you actually held the button down whilst attempting to dry hair.
On the positive side, most of the staff are friendly and helpful.

Had a lovely time at this hotel as a solo traveller with shearings. Hotel is close to the the Arco town, 5-10min walk and to climb to the castle at top of mountain.
Food was basic but with choice of meat or fish for main for dinner and plenty vegetables which were cold that I didn't understand, but loads of choice for fresh salad! Hot breakfast was only eggs and bacon with loads of pastries and continental breakfast basically. If your looking for 4-5 star food with chef stations this isn't for you, but if basic and some bonuses is good enough to feel your belly each day then this is sufficient enough and enjoyable and worth the money you paid for it.
Facilties are great, the pool clean and Spa facilities were good too. Drinks were lovely too and staff friendly and helpful.
Thank you Arco team for a great stay!

We are both in our 70’s and struggling a little with the heat so decided not to go on the excursion (Shearings) We walked in to the restaurant for lunch only to be chased out by the receptionist who informed us that because we didn’t go on the trip with the rest of the group, we were not entitled to lunch. I am disgusted with the hotel.
Apart from that, we are fairly happy with the room except that there is no shower screen so when you have a shower the toilet and toilet rolls become soaked and the entire bathroom floor becomes a skating rink and is very dangerous.
The pool is quite small, about 8 metres long but ok to cool off in.
The hotel is nowhere near lake Garda, certainly not walking distance, about 7-8 miles.
The food (when you can get it) is very good.
Over all the hotel is more like a hostel than a hotel. Certainly not 4*.
One other thing, they really need to sort the filthy lift out, it absolutely stinks!

We stayed here for 7 nights on a Justgo coach trip and were very happy with everything about this hotel. We had the best variety and quality of food we have ever had in Italy, there was way more on offer than just pasta.
The breakfasts were outstanding with yoghurts, scrambled eggs, bacon, as well as cold hams/cheeses and so many fruits including grapes, apricots, nectarines, peaches, water melons, kiwis etc every day. Also a fantastic choice of about 10 croissant, pastries, etc. all warmed and delicious.
Reception were always efficient and friendly and ready to help, as were all the staff here.
Although our room overlooked a small car park at the back, there was still a nice view of the mountains in the distance, with no noise from the pool or traffic.
it was very quiet in the evenings with no entertainment after dinner except to mingle with people.

I would certainly recommend this hotel. I wasn’t expecting it to be all that great. When I arrived the reception staff were professional and polite and very knowledgeable. The food was great and couldn’t fault it. Staff in the dining room were polite and quickly went round to clear the tables in a professional manner. Room was large and better than expected. cleaning was fabulous, cleaned every day, clean towels and bed made. This hotel is excellent value for money.

The hotel was clean with the bedding and towels changed daily. Good sized shower room which was immaculate. The room was basic with all furniture in good condition. We had a small balcony with mountain views. Staff were friendly. We were all inclusive and a packed lunch was available on request to take on trips.
