The staff at the Kings Head could not be better. They are hard working, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I feel I must make a special mention of the chef who must be a wizard! We had wonderful food on both days of our stay and were in a party of 50 people. How he managed to produce...

I visited this hotel for a meal with my husband and 7 year old son and the first thing that struck me was how busy it was for a pub in a small town in the countryside on a Wednesday night! We visited for an evening meal on our way home from Leyburn. This is a Chef and Brewer pub...

Fabulous. Staff all fantastic, really nice friendly and helpful. Room was lovely really clean and comfortable. Ate dinner in the restaurant which was 2 courses for £12, and really tasty fresh food. Lots of choice on the menu and allergy information available for guest with nut allergy. Waiter was very polite and well mannered. Couldn't get the wifi connection (provided...

Hotel was really nice. Staff very helpful and nothing was ever a problem for them. However, the evening meal we had was very disappointing. Not the standard I was expecting at all. Definitely recommend the hotel itself it was fantastic but avoid the restaurant in the evening

We stayed here for just 1 night, it suited us down to the ground. The staff were friendly, the food was smashing, the room just right for us everything we needed. Would like to go back again. We were round the back in a courtyard room but there was no noise at all from other guest's

However o was very disappointed with...

A last minute booking in a surprising gem of a hotel. Free (Honesty Box) parking outside the hotel in the main square of a village with 2 breweries. The hotel is clean and well kept and the rooms quiet and clean with good beer and food.

It's a beautiful Yorkshire village and a beautiful old building - shame the owners have no interest in their guests' comfort. We had no shampoo or shower gel in the rooms, the towels were thin and old, the bed was uncomfortable, the warm temperature in the room required a cheap portable fan being situated on the bedside table meanwhile you...
