We managed to be squeezed in for a table of 7 for a birthday celebration. It was faultless from the greeting by a lovely young lady full of enthusiasm and the food from giant starter soufflé to fish and chips, langoustines, scallops, fish pie - all truly awesome! Superb staff after a very busy summer and still smiling . A rarity sometimes …… Excellent and we will be back , would love to stay next time .

I have been to The Pierhouse sooo many times. The Seafood platter is exceptional, as is the exceptional wine list and lush desserts. Both the position and the interior warms the heart, so here is the 'but!', my friends and I went for Sunday lunch and were so looking forward to it, sadly it was below what one would expect of The Pierhouse and prob at best sub-average. The Yorkshire Pudding, (prob the best bit of any roast lunch), was flaccid, with zero crunch. The meat was sirloin steak, which we were not asked how we would like it and it came out well done, we all like ours medium rare. The cauliflower cheese was soapy in texture and the whole thing was drowned in gravy. Not one of us thought it was up to scratch, nor matched the quality of the fantastic seafood that The Pierhouse is reputed for. Maybe the point is that they should stick to what they are exceptional at. We will go back, just not for a roast.

Dear osricks1234567 Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback for us. As a regular visitor here at The Pierhouse you will know that your most recent experience falls short of the high standard that we constantly strive for and that our customers have come to expect from us. I have brought your comments to the attention of the Chef. We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your recent meal, but do hope that you will come back again in the not too distant future. Kind regards Fiona McLean General Manager

Unfortunately didn't stay here but had the pleasure of dining here twice on my first trip to Scotland. What a gem of a place! Friendly staff, great food and plenty of Whisky!! And a whole vegan menu, who'd have thought in Scotland! Thank you, no doubt be back again!

Hi alexP3517AU Thank you for the lovely review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your first trip to Scotland and of course to The Pierhouse too! As you say we do have a full vegan menu; altough we are primarily a seafood restaurant we do try to offer a full range of alternative dishes. We hope you won't leave it too long before you come back to Scotland, and we hope you will fit in another visit to The Pierhouse while you are here. Kind regards Fiona McLean General Manager

This place is such a find. It has gone straight to the top of my favourite place to go list. The staff were all so friendly and knowledgable. The room was just lovely, although the rooms with view had all gone, it really didn’t matter. When you are in the restaurant or lounge areas the views are just amazing. It really is a piece of heaven in earth. The food was exceptional, from the seafood platter to the breakfast. Hats off to everyone there, they are all masters! We had our 11 year old with us and she loved everything too. We will be back for sure. Thank you all.

Very warm and friendly attentive staff with a great professional attitude and a willingness to have a chat with all guests. The restaurant food is simply outstanding and the langoustines are caught nearby and landed straight from the boat to the kitchens. Try the cheese soufflé too!

Hello lurganbob We are so pleased that you enjoyed your recent visit to The Pierhouse. Thank you leaving this great review for us. As you say we do try to source all of our produce as locally as we can, and the langoustine are provided by Eoghan Black from the waters right outside the hotel. That's about as local as you can get! Kind regards Fiona McLean General Manager
