Plas Coch must be well over 200 years old and it's built to last. The walls are as thick as as the walls of at least 3 modern houses. Situated right in the centre but you can park in the old stable yard at the back so it's highly convenient. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, the bathroom also a...

My daughter had orginally booked us into the White lion Hotel, but due to rooms being refurbished she had to find another venue, this being The Plas coch which is situated in the high street with parking around the back of the hotel. Our room was situated on the first floor at the front of the hotel. I thought it...

The hotel management need to decide whether they want a hotel or a music venue. I had to sleep with earplugs in until 2am due to the loud amplified band that played in their pub downstairs till 1.30am. Apparently this is not a one-off and they do it frequently. Then at 3am I was woken by 3 drunks at the...

Chose the Plas Coch for a one night stay on a business trip. Two rooms booked. On arrival tried to park in the advertised car park and couldn't due to the hotels catering trailer and very big towable toilet block. Went to check in and discovered one girl behind the bar who vaguely waved a hand and said "reception is...

Others had the burger , that also was succulent and very tasty. Food was well presented and altogether a lovely meal , everyone enjoyed their...

Met friends at the Plas Coch for drinks and a meal recently. As always a warm welcome was extended by Elen and her friendly and efficient staff. We only popped in for a few drinks and a chat , but there was a great atmosphere in the lounge so we decided to order food and stay for the evening. As...

Oddly, it has a good reputation locally. We stopped for a supper after a long day in the hills. Food took an age to arrive. My pate and toast arrived with out toast, the soup of the day was deemed acceptable, whilst the burgers were underwhelming, and the chicken undercooked. The steak was tough - not that the dog minded,...

Stayed here whilst attending a sailing event at Lake Bala. It isn't really a hotel at all, just a large pub with rooms above. I was a solo traveller and my room was very small, a bit basic and not very comfortable, although clean. There was however a smell of stale cigarette smoke in the room and in the hallway...

Stayed here for 2 nights as we had booked for a day on the lake, which is only 2 minutes by car away from the hotel. It's comfortable with large rooms with a Bar, Restaurant and Lounge. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay here. The Goat pub across the road is great value and...
