Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An amazing trip. Maureen and her team are extremely professional and yet so warm, caring for the guests, the horses, the overall atmosphere. Everything from matching the horses to the riders, to the complicated yet so smooth logistics was incredibly well thought out. I now feel part of this incredible big family, what an honor. It was beyond all my expectations. And the scenery of each of the ride was breath taking and diverse. I can’t praise the Castle Trail ride enough. Thanks Maureen, Paul, Gillian, Emma, Cerys, and everyone else who participated to the success of this amazing experience I will cherish always! Wow!

Nice set up, lots of horses, 2 great arenas! Slightly disappointing to get put on large horses when I requested small and only 1 canter out on the hack when I am very experienced. Just felt held back a lot and wanted more. Some great technical skills were improved though in the arena. The week long castle trail ride was mentioned and ‘sold’ to us a lot which became very frustrating. Sadly we didn’t enjoy the hack to the unesco site in the woods as the steep drops into the valley were so high and felt un safe also lots of trotting on the main busy road wasn’t ideal. Lovely accommodation and great food though. Visited with 4 friends.

Thankyou for your nice review. I’m really pleased you enjoyed our facilities and improved your skills with our great instructors. You will recall on booking I said the pace of the outdoor ride would have to be based on the ability of your friend who was a novice. We hope we’ll see you again

After a very warm and friendly greeting, I went to my room to get my belongings and myself comfy to relax a little after a 5 hr bike ride. I was then invited for a riding assessment so the staff could get to know me and my skills, and for them to carefully choose a suitable horse for me from so many well cared for and beautiful horses. I was chosen by Maverick and at the end of the week, I wanted to take him home with me !!! My riding skills now after a week here was 100% better than when I arrived, all courtesy of the extremely friendly, helpful and very well trained staff. A really big thank you to Niamh, Emma and Sandra for this. Being here has also massively helped with my mental health and, after talking to Phil (Fergus' dad), my personal confidence of being a 40 something male trainee horse rider too. The food and the accommodation is absolutely wonderful, comfy room and really good shower too. I'm taking what I've learnt from here and will continue to build on my skills at a school closer to home, and I am already making plans to return here in 2024. Big thank you to you all for giving me the most amazing holiday of my life and giving me wonderful memories too which will be treasured for a very long time.

I had a terrific week staying here for a centre based riding holiday. My room was very comfortable and well maintained and I thoroughly enjoyed the home cooked meals in the attached bistro. All of the team were friendly and very accomodating. Going into the week I had no horse riding experience but felt very safe and supported from day one in developing my abilities and confidence. The horses are clearly all very well looked after. Between the excellent instruction and hacking out in the beautiful surroundings I couldn't have dreamed of a better introduction to the sport. I would definitely reccomend and I hope to return again.

A totally magical experience! Went on the Scottish Castles Trail Ride and it was absolutely gorgeous — all rolling hills and shimmering heather and countryside views. The staff were amazing, super helpful for a novice rider like me, and so were the horses (so beautiful!). Would definitely recommend!
