Very spacious room and large bathroom. Enjoyed the beautiful views from room and also the roof top terrace. This hotel is located in the old part of Jimena de la Frontera, a charming town with narrow streets so best to arrive in the day light. Friendly service and suggestions for dinning and hiking.

This is a little known Frontera town right on the edge with the province of Cádiz, beautiful place, and not busy, even in August. Hotel Casa Henrietta is relaxed, open, very chic and highly recommendable. We enjoyed the roof terrace, where you can grab a bottle of white wine from the fridge, and the rooms, with their expansive views over the countryside.

This quirky and charming hotel was a brilliant find. Located in the middle of Jimena de la Frontera, it was an easy, if not steep, walk to all the local restaurants and attractions. It was thoughtfully decorated with interesting furnishings in the most beautiful, calming colors. Our bedrooms (5 & 6) were huge, with large tiled bathrooms, and set at the back of the hotel on the first floor with breathtaking views of the countryside and village rooftops. The cosy bar and restaurant are located on the lower level with a pretty terrace filled with wrought iron chairs and tables. There was even a piano in the salon. The restaurant is only open for dinner Fridays and Saturdays, so the receptionist kindly recommended two excellent places to eat when we asked for authentic local dishes. We highly recommend a walk around the sprawling castle and adjacent cemetery, as well as a visit to the Museo de la Memoria, located a few doors up from the hotel. Note: the elevator is not operational and I get the feeling that there are no immediate plans to repair it any time soon.

I have never seen so much dirt in a house in my life. There were books that I think came from a container directly, into the room and into the rest of the house. On the terrace they never cleaned or changed the chair cushions, and it was impossible to sit on them. Internet practically non-existent, only in bursts. The mattress seemed like a flan every time you moved, and the pillows were unbearable. There was no way to sleep. The bathroom was horrible and had a broken screen, which was a danger for all intents and purposes. No one to welcome you, a safe wrapped in plastic behind the bars of an exterior window to take the key... Surreal. The free outdoor parking that they say exists is a super steep and narrow street in which my vehicle was in serious danger for two nights, and to get out I had a car five centimeters in front and another five centimeters behind so I had to do more than twenty maneuvers. All this 170 euros for two nights... in theory there was a restaurant for breakfast during the weekend, but in this case it was closed. There was also a disused elevator, apparently for a long time, whose doors were covered with a cloth, but you had to go up to the second floor, carrying your luggage, up the stairs. I don't think there's much more to say, although I'm sure I'll have something negative...

This hotel is as delightful as it looks in the photos. Staff was very welcoming and accommodating. Room was ready with the two extra beds we requested for our children. The bedroom and bathroom were clean. Worth every penny we paid for.
We had breakfast once in the hotel and it was nice and basic, you do get better value for money at the bars in town.
Loaction was very central with bars and restaurants close by.

This hotel is a quirky gem in the middle of Jimena. Large clean rooms with nice decor and a roof top terrace with free tea and coffee and honour bar for drinks. A real historic ‘Andalusian’ hotel No onsite parking but parked safely on the street. Will return.

Greeted by Melissa who was very helpful and friendly, we got a lovely room with a view of the valley and hills, lovely terrace with iron furniture WITH cushions 👍🏼. On street Parking was good, although driving around the Pueblo is not for the faint hearted😰😰. There was an Honesty bar, nice touch, we didn’t use it but fabulous view of the castle from the roof terrace . Overall for a Hostel great👍🏼. The room needed some work, drawers sticking and one front fell off!! Door to room stuck half way ! Latches to window covers missing. The lift was not working and looked like it was out of order for some time as it had a covering on the doors on all floors . Only a problem if you mobility issues as stairs are steep. Recommendation made for a resturant (El Ventorrillero ) for breakfast which was a tourist rip-off in my view. Suggest they give more than one option, we discovered some good ones. Good value,Would use again.

This is a most attractive boutique hotel/B & B, run by a charming and helpful owner (Melissa), set in the middle of a lovely little hill-town surrounded by the Los Alcornocales Natural Park, which has some great hiking trails.
We would have no hesitation recommending Casa Henrietta, even though on the nights we spent there the hotel’s bar-restaurant was closed for a staff vacation, and so the breakfast part of B & B had to be sought elsewhere. This was all explained perfectly clearly beforehand by Melissa when booking directly through the hotel (the big online bookers were all announcing ‘No Vacancies’: a deliberate and sensible move by the management to reduce the risk of a full house and possible disappointed customers who would be unaware of what was going on).
Our room (No. 4, first floor) was large and light, with a huge bed requiring GPS to get from one side to the other, and it had a delightful covered terrace offering extensive views east and south over the town and across the rolling countryside.
The bathroom was equally spacious, with a good strong power-shower that did admittedly take a while to warm up in a largely empty building, and perhaps the only quibble would be the all-too-familiar “Hey, there’s nowhere to put your washing gear” absence of any surfaces or worktops. Bathroom lighting, on the other hand, was very good.
We could not check out the restaurant or the terrace where breakfast can apparently be taken outdoors, but we did climb up to the rooftop solarium area, which has great views in all directions.
The whole building has a nicely quirky, artistic vibe about it, which is perfectly in keeping with the village itself: Jimena de la Frontera appears to have attracted a more bohemian ex-pat set than some other places, and there is an atelier shop in the hotel selling arts and crafts from local potters, sculptors, and artists, both Spanish and foreign.
Not sure if the elevator is actually in service, so be aware of this if you have heavy bags (we didn't). Free parking on the (quite steep) street outside.
Thanks, it was nice. We’ll be back.

Our sense is that the star ratings on trip adviser represent perceptions of value for money rather than degree of luxury. Casa Henrietta accordingly deserves the top rating as it offers exceptional value for the price it charges. The hotel itself is colourful and quirky, adorned with art everywhere (many from the owner). Our terrace room (we strongly recommend spending the extra for one) was huge with a spacious balcony and fabulous view of the mountains and town. The bathroom was also huge with a great shower, but could use some kind of stand as there was nowhere to put a toiletry kit. Also, a couple of extra pillows would have been helpful for reading in bed. But again, given the price, the uniqueness of this hotel, size of the rooms and view from the terrace offers exceptional value. Note that if you are driving you will need to find a parking space on the left-side of the street. It is also worth adding that Jimena de la Frontera, itself a pretty hilltop town, offers a great jump-off point for visiting Gibraltar or some of the nearby white villages.

When I arrived at this B&B the girl at the front desk, who had a very limited english, were not able to give me even a copy of a map. Disappointing when the tourist office in the village is closed. Later a woman, who spoke english, were able to hand me a photocopy of a map. She in general delivered good service. My room was at the ground level and were ok although a reading lamp at the desk would have been appropriate. The bar/kitchen is in the basement and there is quite some noise from there as there is poor insulation when the kitchen is ending the evening close to midnight. Breakfast is fine. The roof terrasse needs a bit of a clean as it did not appear like a nice place. On my lat day the wifi did not work which is sad when You have to book the next night in the hotel.
