Hotel was spotlessly clean and staff very helpful and eager to organise birdwatching tours. The hotel is ideally located on the edge of a beautiful lagoon where you can watch the birds coming home to roost in the evenings. We ate locally in different restaurants and thoroughly enjoyed everything. Food is not Michelin starred but it's not Michelin prices either!...

What a fantastic location , right in the heart of the Donana national park in Rocio with its sand filled streets and a real Wild West feel.Hotel next to lake teeming with wildlife . Hotel is quaint and and very different. Our only complaint would be that some of the staff were mot very welcoming .

We liked the location right next to the lagoon and bird centre. We did not feel the staff tried hard enough to offer a friendly smile and welcome. Reception staff (if even found at their desk!) were always busy on their mobile phones. Breakfast was an adequate standard but with an 8am opening time you may have to miss it...

Seeing Clint Eastwood or Sergio Leone coming round the corner would not be a surprise as this town is straight out of a spaghetti western. The streets are wide and made of sand, there are hitching posts outside the shops and restaurants. When we arrived on a Thursday afternoon in Jan the place was deserted - tumbleweed would have been...

This hotel is charming and the staff most helpful. Right next to the Ornithological centre on the waterfront where you can walk on wood rather than the soft sand streets. The town is very dusty as there are no hard surfaces so it is imperative to keep doors closed at all times. Our rooms on the ground floor were the...

Location a blast. Right next tot Donana National park. Town is quite old. Looked like we where stranded in a cowboymovie. Only the saloon was missing ;-). The hotel was a little outdated. Staff did not understand english, but we managed (it has it's charm). Safe and fridge were broken (upper most room). Because of the hard time explaining this...

The hotel is well placed in the town and on first impressions is really lovely however for me a few things let it down. The room was nice with a lovely big bathroom. However when we arrived the tiled floor had hair lying about on it in both the bedroom and bathroom. The TV was attached to the wall in...

This is a nice little hotel in an odd but interesting little town. The staff don't speak English but they are super nice. Great location, right near the boardwalk and views of the wildlife area. The town is unique - sand streets and horses everywhere.

We spent two nights in El Rocio, as this is at the gateway to La Doñana Park, a major bird sanctuary at the estuary of the Guadalquivir River. El Rocio itself is famous throughout Spain for its 13th century statue of the Virgin, which draws hundreds of thousands of pilgrims for various fiestas each year. Some of these pilgrims are...
