In my opinion, this is the best guest house in the North West. Jack the owner and his staff have a great thing going here. Simon and Lisa who run the place are brilliant and the rooms, the Wi-Fi, the beds and most importantly the breakfasts are all first class. I stay here on business and can't fault it. Room... More

I dont just write reviews on here i read them too, and they brought me here. The outside looks clean and not fancy, the inside..... Excelent, stayed here a night, no reception but the key was out and ready. The room, large and spotless, very new feel to it, minimalistic without lots of dust collecting trinkets. Bed super comfy and... More

When I come across from the Isle of Man I always stay here for several reasons, it is very close to the port, it is extremely clean, the beds are excellent as are the pillows, the rooms are simple but very pleasant and the breakfast is excellent with top quality produce. Thank you Liz and Simon for your kindness to... More

We had just arrived after midnight following sailing through a force 8 gale. On arrival, found it was a small hotel with no staff on duty. But the room keys were ready on a table, and little forms for breakfast orders. The room was large, clean, and very well equipped. Everything we wanted or needed was there. Very comfortable bed.... Spent 3 nights in the accessible room with wetroom floor and level access shower. All excellent and well thought out - though lack of 2 pin point for shaver/electric toothbrush was slightly disappointing, as was the lack of easily reached 3 pin sockets in the spacious bedroom. A good breakfast was offered with a wide range of cooked items. Very... More

Stayed a few nights while visiting family. Friendly hosts and excellent value. Spacious room with enormous comfy bed and well equipped bathroom with big fluffy towels and powerful shower. Good breakfast - full English plus cereals and fresh fruit. Would recommend.

Last minute job to Heysham docks saw me looking for accommodation for thr following night. The Port House was my first call as it was within sight of my destiation. I was delighted to get the last available room. A warm welcome by Jack saw us to a beautiful clean & tastfully decorated room with a sea view. The bed... More

The room was clean and comfortable and thoughtfully provisioned. Breakfast freshly cooked. We were given plent of info on things to do in the immediate area, and also offered to be able to use the facilities later in the day after checking out...I would certainly stay again.

Stayed here before travelling to Isle Of Man. Room big but mattress was a bit saggy. Staff very friendly, breakfast was very good. Cheap parking for car (£5 a day). Only one disappointing thing was that the hotel was further away from the port terminal than I was given to understand. It was a good 15 mins walk with a... More

We had 4 rooms here and despite a booking mix up where the suite we booked was not available the staff helped us with everything we needed. They really are nice friendly helpful people so I recommend the b&b for that. Breakfast is great and there is a pub that does reasonable beer and food very close, an easy walk.... More
