From arriving to leaving 2 nights later, this was a holiday, a proper British summer break.

The staff at reception were calm, smiling and welcoming, we were quickly given our keys for our lodge.

The site, we’d not been to before, it’s big but felt personal, a short walk from the complex to our lodge .

The lodge itself was 3 bedroomed, a master en suite in addition to the bathroom, very spacious lounge and lovely kitchen area. We even had a see view (lodge was Bay view).

Our children, aged 7 and 12 commented that it was ‘luxurious’ and ‘wow’. It was nice for us to arrive and see such a smart lodge. We’d booked for 3 nights but always had to leave Sunday night. It was value for money and we will return again. Why?

We all relaxed, we all had treats, we laughed and smiled as a family and that felt nice. The children loved the complex, they went on the bungee trampoline and we hired a family cart to pedal around the site.

The location is next to the power station, we didn’t know how we felt about that but it was okay, we even had a family photo taken with it in the background. Unlike some parks this had a lot of grassy space to chill near the bay, we played football on it, sat and relaxed with some nibbles whilst we planned what we’d do.

We went to the kids show and the children enjoyed, our 12 year old was happy with a slush and dancing to keep his sister happy. They both loved the arcade but were happy on the 2p machines and a couple of arcade games.

We all went to the pool, 3 times the first time we bobbed about, the second and third times it was time for mum and dad to dodge the water guns we’d bought in the shop. Not expensive which was quite refreshing.

The staff were really nice, so much so, the children said hi on the way through and smiles were swapped.

We had beautiful sunshine and we could see Piel Island and the rolling hills of the Lake District across the bay. To the left across land we could see Blackpool tower.

We drove about 1.5 miles to moonlit cafe, we all had a ice cream and walked along the cliffs, quite a nice beach here, but further round just before St Patrick’s Church (ruin) was a lovely cove. We didn’t know the church was there and the children were interested as had graves carved out of stone, where saints were once buried.

We returned to the site and went out for a meal at the site, surprisingly nice meals , so nice we dined out twice. We were on our hols, it was the last weekend of half term but it didn’t feel crowded. We are in the conservatory which had the electric roof reclined and the tables and chairs set up on artificial grass, with the hot weather it felt like we were abroad. Being 65 mins from home it was cheap as little fuel needed and as only there 3 days we treated ourselves and it felt like a lovely break.

We will be back, if you’re reading this and are debating whether to try Ocean Edge, go on and book there. It’s a little more for the lodge but it felt like a special treat. Thanks for a lovely time. The owners on the site around our caravan were friendly and it added to the relaxation of the break.

After visiting Ocean Edge Holiday Park for a holiday and finding the staff so friendly and helpful and the facilities well kept and maintained we returned several times and finally decided this was the place to purchase a holiday home enabling us to return whenever we wanted too. This is a dog friendly site and there is plenty of places to go for a good walk along the coastline and take in the views. The restaurant supplies plenty of different dishes at competitive prices and the entertainment lounge is very relaxing with an array of different artists on a regular basis. There is so much for children to do also and a good sized indoor pool and sauna. Really look forward to going back there often. Definitely well worth a visit.

We love dogs here at Ocean Edge and hope you have taken advantage of our new dog friendly area in the restaurant. If not, do so! It’s proving very popular with our doggie customers! Pop into Reception with pooch next time you are here. Rosie on Reception always has a handful of doggie treats readily available! Kind regards, Janette

In 2019 we enjoyed 4 separate holidays at Ocean Edge.

The staff are so friendly and good at there job, the whole site is well looked after, and there is even a mini bus from the site into Morecambe.

There is a small but well stocked shop on site, but for the larger shopping requirements both Asda and Morrissons are only a short drive away.

The selection of places to visit are only a short drive from the site.

Before I close I have to mention the power station located next door.

Believe me when I say it will not spoil your holiday, it isn't noisy or dirty, and if you apply in advance you can take advantage of the visitor centre.

To find Ocean Edge is very easy, it's well signposted on all approaches to Morecambe.

I'm looking forward to another 4 holidays this year, see you soon Ocean Edge.

This is the second time staying at Ocean Edge Holiday Park and it will most probably be the last time. The first time was in a private rental and this time it was in one of the parks rented vans.

I liked the idea that all the checking-in was done online and that a map was emailed showing the location of the van meaning no need to visit the Reception. The keys where on the table in the van when we arrived and a green sign in the window to say that we could entre. There was also lots of information about their enhanced cleaning programme - this is questionable! And a welcome pack.
The van was clean’ish’ but not to the standard that I expected and even more so due to Covid-19. There was dust around all the carpet edges which is just not acceptable. Also we noticed a damp smell in the van mainly in the main bedroom and it was only when checking out that I noticed all the damp spots on the mattress. I have emailed the park and sent pictures and I got a nice replay back to say that they had replaced the mattress for the next guest – that’s nice of them. I am more annoyed that someone cleaning that van on a regular basis would not have noticed that ‘come on’ and carried on putting on clean bedding for the next guest.
I am not sure if people normally cook in the van but please bear in mind that the grill pan is only big enough for 4 slices of bacon for example. You also have an inventory on the inside of the cupboard door under the sink and half of these items were not in the van.
I was notified that all hairdryers had been removed but this was not the case as it was fixed to the wall in the main bedroom.
I also requested a bed rail for one of the rooms as my 2 year old was coming with me. They said over the phone that I could just get this from reception once I had checked in. However when I receive the curtesy call on arrival which was nice, I mentioned to them about the bed rail and they told me that they didn’t supply them and that I should push the beds together! If I had known that I would have taken the travel cot.

Hi, Thank you for your review. We welcome all feedback from our customers as it enables us to learn and improve our standards and facilities. We appreciate your comments about our new check-in process. It seems to be working very well and lots of customers like the ‘no fuss’ approach so great feedback for us. Cleanliness is not something we will compromise on at any time not just in these uncertain times. We are sorry we got it wrong and sincerely hope you took the time to speak to our teams on park who will have done everything possible to rectify the issues you make us aware of. We do not supply bed guards but it something that we have been asked before, so following on from your feedback, we will now be getting some on park for future requests. We are sorry that your stay was not everything that it should have been and really hope that you give us another try in the future so we can get it right the second time round for you. Kind Regards, ^JV

Had a great weekend here at the beginning of September with my partner. Caravan was spotless and exactly like advertised. The staff were fantastic especially manager Janette at reception - excellent service!

The park is in a great location for visiting the lakes or Blackpool area and you couldn't feel safer in this great location in such a well-kept and high quality park!!

Highly recommended!! Thank you :)

As a single mama, i have bad anxiety taking my little boy away. But i do it to make memories.
We have recently spent a weekend at ParkDean Ocean Edge resort, our caravan was spotless, warm and homely. The park itself was wonderful and near the beach with so many shells to collect and plenty of space to let the dog let off some energy. Just watch the beach on the morning as my son decided to jump in the clay and we got slightly stuck for a few minutes lol.

The staff from check in to check out where lovely and friendly. But i have to praise the entertainment staff, and the lifeguards. Just wow.

Each and every one of you guys ensured we had fun, we laughed so much and we left every show bursting with fun and happiness. My son loved every moment. You made me feel relaxed, you all spoke to me like we had known each other for years, you made my son feel like he was the only child in the room and you did the same for other children, i actually got up and did a dance with my son haha.

To the lifeguard who was in the pool at the pool party saturday 7th march 2020 at 5pm, sorry i didnt catch your name. But i owe you! I hate swimming, its a huge fear, my sons a great swimmer and very confident. You ensured he had so much fun, you played games with him, you helped him, you threw him in the water which honestly made his entire day! And for that, i cannot thank you enough.

To the pirates in the pirate adventure show on Sunday 8th march afternoon, my son was the only child to attend but that didnt matter. You made him feel completely involved, you were both hilarious, patient and went above and beyond to ensure he had a magical adventure. Again, i cannot thank you all enough. You are all amazing people.

So if youre a single mama or dad, and have anxiety about booking a trip away, then i would 1000% recommend this place! You can even take your dog in to the restaurant 🐶 this is always a bonus!!

We were sad to leave, but we will definitely be back!

All of our teams on park work so hard to make sure everyone has the best time. It sounds like your family had a great time and they did a great job. All reviews are passed on to the teams on park so they have already been told about your lovely comments. Please come back to Ocean Edge again in the future so you can have another amazing holiday. We have just returned from a weekend family break at Ocean Edge to celebrate my 30th birthday and we had a brilliant stay. We stayed in a 6 berth lodge which was really spacious with a big balcony overlooking the sea.
The government guidelines tightened in the Lancashire area during our stay but the staff kept us informed of any changes by text message each day.
They were very organised with any changes they had to make and when entering any part of the complex (ie restaurant) they explained the process of what we had to do from start to finish. The entertainment staff were lovely and really good with our 3 year old son. Hand sanitizer was available everywhere you went and the staff followed all the current guidelines so we felt safe and at ease the whole time.
We will definitely return and hopefully next time the restrictions will have been lifted so we can enjoy the full complex and activities. Very well done to all the staff during a difficult time!

First visit here but it’s the type of holiday we do quite often and enjoy. Family of 4; 2 adults; 5yr old and 3yr old.
We only booked the day before arrival, after cancelling our caravan trip away as the weather wasn’t safe to tow it. We booked a 3 bedroom static caravan which was apparently new for 2019!

Check in and finding the caravan was easy enough but our caravan was a 10 minute walk away from the facilities so we had to plan activities carefully to avoid having to come back a number of times a day!

The caravan was nice enough with tea, coffee, milk and drinks for the kids on arrival. But no basically such as toilet paper, hand soap or towels- thank god we brought some! Only 1 pillow per bed and no extra blankets.
We stayed during the weekend of Storm Dennis and it was cold- we needed extra layers on the beds!
The thermostat was in the living room near the fire so when the fire was on the heating wouldn’t come on to head the bedrooms!
The sink in the shower room was cracked which leaked into the cupboard underneath it which meant we couldn’t use it!
The toilet in the other bathroom also leaked!

The range of activities on site was good- swimming pool, outdoor park, arcade, softplay, bar and restaurant. Again because of the weather we didn’t do any outdoor activities but made the most of everything indoors.
We booked the paddle boats on the pool which was good fun, and also booked a pirate adventure which was also good. The rest of the entertainment was ok.
Food was also ok, nothing special. The heating in the bar/restaurant was so noisy and ridiculously hot. I asked for it to be turned off at one point but no one knew how to do it!

We went off site once; Saturday morning for Morecambe Prom parkrun which was great. Finished and got back to Ocean Edge before the rain started and Dennis came!!!

Also visited Lancaster Castle on the way home.

Hi there, Thank you for your review and for your feedback which we do take on board. As we are quite a large park, some of our holiday homes are a short walk away from Reception. We can however, request caravans nearer the complex if we know in advance. Just something to bear in mind if you stay at Ocean Edge again. We are pleased you were happy with your caravan and the little extras. We do provide toilet paper and apologise if there was none there for you. We have noted this. We do not provide towels here at Ocean Edge and we hope you asked for additional pillows and blankets as we can provide these if asked. Great to hear that you took advantage of the indoor activities which was wise considering Storm Dennis was in full throw! We do hope that despite a few hiccups that you will come back and visit us again in the future. Kind regards, Janette

We've just had an absolutely fantastic family holiday at Ocean's Edge for Feb half term. The weather was horrendous but 1 adult & 5 kids (aged 15, 14, 12, 5 and 2) in a caravan worked well because the site has so much to do do & everyone there was so friendly and helpful! The activities (we did pottery painting, battle blasters, wipe out, unicorn & pirate adventures, kayaking) were great value, well organised & run by enthusiastic staff. The car got stuck in the mud during Storm Dennis but the friendly ground staff got the tractor and had us freed in just 20 mins. The arcades are well equipped with plenty of 2p machines so as not to spend a fortune. The shows were fab and the caravan (Arnside) was spacious, clean and modern.I asked at reception whether there was a DVD or board game lending library and, whilst there wasn't, the lady immediately noted it as a suggestion for future. We went into Morecambe one day (a free minibus is available every day but Weds) where there was bowling, cinema and trampolining to keep us away from the wind and rain. The little shop is well stocked. Don't forget tea-towels, washing up stuff and bin bags! We did but I rang reception and, despite it being my fault for forgetting, they brought us an emergency 'kitchen kit' straight to the caravan 10 mins later. Thanks Ocean's Edge.... we'll be back!

Just come home from a 4 day stay at the park which was excellent! Me and my two children aged 5 and 6 enjoyed every minute of it was lovely.

The things they put in place regarding the COVID virus were excellent and made us feel very safe whilst also not spoiling the experience. The boathouse restaurant was excellent and the table Service was brilliant and meant we didn’t have to wait it queues and get too close to people. All the different parts of the park had plenty of hand sanitiser available and we also saw staff cleaning Regularly and making sure things were safe,

The whole stay was excellent and would def go back again
