We flew from Scotland on 12 Nov, just after lockdown in England was imposed, two days before a negative Covid test certificate was required, and just prior to a travel ban in our area. First things first, the apartment was clean, which is the main thing for us. Also, it was very spacious and the beds were comfortable. Fixtures and furnishings are very tired, and frankly in need of updating. We had a nice big balcony with a lovely sea view, and had morning sun until midday. We had to feel for the pool lifeguards who were there every single day, looking after around 50, for the most part, empty sunbeds. Normally there would be many more, but the rest appeared to be piled up in the empty swimming pool of the mothballed sister hotel next door. There were quite a few sad sights like that around the resort. We stayed for 10 nights on a self-catering basis. Having read a previous review, we took our own travel kettle. We have stayed in self-catering accommodation many times, and a kettle has always been part of the basic kitchen facilities that you would expect to find. A few other things we were surprised to find lacking were, no washing up liquid or sponge, dish towel, cooking oil and, perhaps most surprisingly of all, no spatula to turn or lift food. We were unable to find a spatula in any of the surrounding shops, so had to make do with a spoon for our morning fried egg! Wifi is available, but you have to pay. We would return to the apartments but would take a spatula next time!…
I moved here from apartments down the road that were too busy and regimental. I'd stayed here a few years ago & I'm so glad I spent a few days here. Andy on reception was welcoming, friendly and couldn't do enough to help. The apartment had everything I needed. The view is spectacular. The while complex is spotless & covid procedures adhered to. Sunbed & pool area also spotless & lovely and quiet, no loud music etc. A nice quiet holiday. Only downside paying for wifi.
It is our 4th visit to the Aquamarine apartment We stayed for 6 weeks because of quarantine in uk but now we back to Lockdown On arrival we where welcomed by Andy and check in was quick and professional thank you Andy Hotel room very spacious but a little dated fantastic views over Marina and ocean Hotel was very quiet staff are fantastic thanks to Gema Alberto Christian Niki and the lovely team at Breakfast Our disappointment where dinner food never hot you had no choice on vegetables or salads the same with dessert no cheese on the menu, previous years where so much better. We will stay again in Aquamarine Apartment but only for Breakfast or self catering
Our second time at this resort in 2 years, resort is in a lively location and the resort itself is great. Room decor is tired and some repairs could be done this is not due to current covid situation as it was the same 2 years ago. We had self catering but however you do not get a kettle in your room so have to use a pan to boil your water, cutlery is all mismatched and all in odd numbers, only glasses you get are whiskey tumblers so wine drinkers go and buy a wine glass....lol Beds are comfy but the sofa beds or sofa is very uncomfortable even just for sitting on so who knows what it would be like to sleep on. Beautiful views of the harbour and the Atlantic ocean, plenty of places to eat even though there are quite a few that were closed due to the current situation. So on to the staff at the resort and the cleaning protocol, on check in you are asked to now scan a QR code for all the information need for the resort, room cleaning is every 2 days although we checked in on Thursday and then our room was cleaned the next day Friday, then it was cleaned again on Tuesdays then again on Friday the day before check out, maybe this needs to be looked at as that isn't every 2 days. Most staff very friendly and helpful but yet again the woman with glasses on reception was very rude again just like 2 years ago, she totally ignored you while you are stood at reception while she is looking at her phone, there is not welcome from her or any goodbye, even when we checked out she didnt acknowledge us and asked our stay was etc, as yet again she was looking at her phone, maybe she owns the hotel because there cant be any other reason to employ her. So after all said we had a fabulous time weather was great as always room a bit tired and outdated, maybe invest in some bigger TVs, cutlery, wine glasses etc. We will no doubt be back…
So arrived here a few hours ago, looks like hotel with entertainment as advertised bingo and karaoke is closed the whole hotel, the apartments with a ghost town bar open, the Irish bar opposite the winking sheep or something closed, nothing seems in close proximity , please someone help , I’m here with a 7 year old and some mates for a few beers what the hell do we do I’m 38 not 99 it’s 2200hts and for past 2 hours been sat on apartment balcony drinking cheap wine so where do you go, I will research or make it happen but everyone one around here is retired , yes it’s November and yes it’s lockdown but in my mind even more reason to enjoy life but not here at a first glance ?
