Truly magical-the location, the atmosphere, the people, the chimps make this one of the most special places on earth. We feel so privileged to have shared 4 days of our lives here with Julian, his team and their furry friends. It way surpassed all our expectations and the memories will remain in our hearts forever. Thank you so much. Just...

To get to this remote region of the Mahale Mountains National Park on the shores of Lake Tanganyika in the Kigoma Region, Tanzania is not particularly hard if you are prepared to spend most of a day travelling - by road, plane and boat. The reward at the end of journey is well worth the effort as the journey is...

Greystoke Mahale is a remote camp with some of the most wonderful guides you will ever find. It is a calm and relaxing environment that is also full of excitement when you are trekking to see the chips or in a boat looking for hippos. Fun fishing and swimming in crystal clear water and great beach for relaxing and reading....

Greystoke is magical because of the chimps and the incredible surroundings but especially because of the staff, who are some of the nicest, warmest and most passionate people I have ever met. If you read the other reviews here you might be concerned, as I was, that the reality would be a bit of a let down. Rest assured this was truly a magical place. The accommodations are simply spectacular, with an open air, two story banda looking out onto Lake Tanganyika. We had three chimp treks. Chimp treks can be a...
