We stayed here after we escaped from a cottage with no view we had booked in a dead village with continuous rain. We had one of the smaller rooms but it was very well appointed with a comfortable bed and the chateau was welcoming and charmingly quirky. It was evident that the family who owned it cared deeply about the...

We stayed at Le Chateau de l'Abbaye for three nights in August 2016. We reserved a suite, which had a seating area outside, a large bedroom with a king size bed, and a bathroom with a jacuzzi and a large shower. The standard of the room and its features was very high and we were very impressed. We ate at...

We enjoyed our lovely home cooked meal, including a lovely asparagus soup. We also enjoyed staying in this country inn hosted on a historical property with a peaceful garden. It is a family operation with the owner's mother and wife doing much of the work while also raising three small children. It was a lovely experience.

This is such a beautiful place and the staff/owners are fantastic hosts The attention to detail mixing the old with modern technology is just fantastic! You really can't want for anything We arrived late on New Year's Eve and even though the restaurant was fully booked the owner managed to create a lovely meal for us in our room and...

This is an old, possibly 17th century, house situated in the grounds of a now vanished abbey once owned by Cardinal Richelieu. We stayed for two nights and had breakfast and an evening meal on both days. Our room was large, (the bed impressively so), and furnished with period items. The bathroom was equally spacious. Beakfasts were copious with local...

The two standard rooms we occupied in the main building during our family vacation were time-worn and tawdry and so were the curtains of the canopy bed and the tea cloth. There was a moldy smell throughout, even stronger in one of the bathrooms and dressing. One room had no day light because of a tree in front of the...

Delightful “Romantic Weekend” stay for 2 nights. Mme Rennard is charming and made us feel most welcome.. We were delighted to find that the bed was very comfortable and the quality of the towels was excellent; they were also large. The ambience of the dining room for dinner was intimate and truly enchanting. We were served by Mme Renard who...

We found this idyllic place and were not disappointed. The attentive but unobtrusive service was delightful. It really is like staying with the family at their home.We had a wedding anniversary to celebrate, and returned to our room to find a heart and the year arranged in rose petals on the bed.

After reading the reviews, my fiance invited me there for a week-end during a trip in this area of France. I must say that it was mostly disappointing : the place is far from everything, the accomodation is outdated, the chairs are rusty, the rooms are not cozy but tiny, the owner wasn't helpful when we asked her for some...

We do not know who is this person, but one thing is sure: she lies when she writes she stayed in May 2013. As a matter of fact, at that time all our outside chairs had been painted, and none was "rusty". First of all, we propose large and beautiful suites with king size bed, 2 seats jacuzzi bath and...

“We have stayed in the Richelieu Suite and the room Marguerite, both of which we enjoyed. They are both generous in size but the Richelieu has a private garden area while the Marguerite is in the main chateau where there is a common patio available. We enjoyed both.”
