The location of the hotel is lovely. Grounds are attractive, well cared for and overlooking the sea was beautiful. We changed rooms on the 2nd day as we felt too close to the main atrium and evening entertainment. Liana was an absolute star, helping to move all our unpacked items to a different room (650) with impressive speed. Food - we were booked on a half board basis. Breakfast was fine, we thought the service was better in World Cafe as opposed to Portofino. Coffee was not nice at all unfortunately. Can’t really comment on restaurants in hotel as we really enjoyed walking to Puerto Calero for dinner where there is a nice selection of restaurants. Staff were lovely, Konti on reception was delightful! He really stood out for us. Four stars rather than five as the room was a little tired. Balcony is small, although we made good use watching sunset every night. Balcony furniture is very basic and the toilet / shower was dark and didn’t feel luxurious. For a relaxing break, we really enjoyed it.

Hotel's Favourite
As soon as we walked through the door we felt all the troubles of the world melt away! Check-in was really welcoming, informative and friendly, with a much appreciated glass of cava on offer. We were taken to our room which was clean and spacious with an absolutely huge bed. It felt as big as two double beds. We also had a well stocked minibar and a coffee machine (all of which were restocked on a daily basis.) There was a huge TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime and plenty of UK channels. We stayed all inclusive, not opting for the “preferred” status upgrade, which we felt did not offer value for money. We still got our eggs cooked just how you like them, (even omelettes,) drinks served round the pool loungers and toiletries and a mini bar all restocked daily without the preferred status. They do have their own lovely pool by the sea plus and a lounge where they can get snacks and drinks all day. However, we were also still always able to get snacks and drinks in one of the restaurants without being preferred. The barefoot grill seems to be open most of the time when other restaurants are closed, so there is always an option! Around the pools was always very chilled with plenty of space. There were always plenty of available sunbeds too. The pool we sat by (the largest) was a bit chilly when you first get into it, but it was lovely and quiet. If you like swimming you soon get used to it! The waiter from the pool bar was very friendly and dedicated to keeping everyone’s drinks topped up! He worked so hard all day long. This is a nice quiet hotel, with an older demographic. We loved the fact it was peaceful but the hotel possibly wouldn’t be a good fit for groups of twenty-somethings. All inclusive covers you for the buffet in the day and evening, plus any of the speciality restaurants in the evening. You can visit these more than once, and there is no need for booking, which feels very relaxed. The Hyatt app shows all the specialty restaurant opening times and menus for you to peruse in advance, usually indicating any food intolerance compatible dishes. The World buffet was good for breakfast and lunch. There is a good range of gluten free breads and cakes. Delicious cheeses, meats, fish, salads, plenty of fruit, and a fair cooked range of other stuff. There is some variety from day to day. Lunch in the buffet has a chef individually cooking whatever fish/chicken/steak you ask for from scratch on a grill. We ate in the World Buffet once for dinner, but were underwhelmed, as it did not seem so special and was very similar to the lunch time offerings. We therefore chose to eat in the speciality restaurants on other evenings. We sampled all that were available; Bluewater Grill, (great for steaks and fish,) Portofino (great for pizza and pastas) and Oceana, (our favourite, a seafood restaurant.) All of these were excellent, with a much more romantic, special feel to the atmosphere. The wines and beers included in the all inclusive were very nice too. A special mention to Clara who we saw at lots of the specialty restaurants. She always had a lovely smile and chat with us! We also tried the sushi bar, which was fun and a bit more interactive. The sushi chef worked very hard making beautiful and fresh sushi creations! He also threw in a few extra delicious morsels here and there! The evening entertainment was a bit hit or miss to be honest. However the two separate gymnastic / circus acts that we saw were brilliant, talented and entertaining! There was no shortage of drinks and lovely cocktails being offered sitting around the piano bar by the lovely Agustin and his colleagues! I did not try the spa but my husband tried the gym and found it well equipped. We went on planned excursions to the Cueva Verdes, Jameos del Agua, El Golfo and Timanfaya. All stunning. My review would be too long if I went into too much detail but it’s really worth getting out there and seeing some of the wonderful places Lanzarote has to offer. We also did a little exploring locally. From the hotel you can venture left facing the sea to Puerto Calero marina, with its many shops and restaurants. You can then walk on if you wish to Puerto del Carmen. This path is dusty and rocky so bring good shoes! The same goes for walking to the right, there are two paths, both of which are rocky and dusty, but the upper path is more manageable. This scenic walk takes you to Playa Quemada, a delightful quiet seaside village with several fairly basic but unspoilt seafood restaurants, all with beautiful sea views. The one we went to (El Pescador?) served us a beautiful, authentic paella and we also had wonderful sardines, along with garlic king prawns to start. During our stay, all of the staff at the hotel worked tirelessly to make our stay exceptional. We felt totally relaxed and pampered from start to finish, and lucky to have found this place. Thank you for an amazing holiday, we will be back next year!

We spent a week at secrets resort in Lanzarote this April. We had the most amazing time from the moment we arrived to our departure. On arrival we were met by Conti who looked after us amazingly settling into the hotel. Join the week we enjoyed the spa which we can highly recommend. Every evening cocktails in the piano bar were delightful and the weight of Ronaldo looked after us really well throughout the week. Food was exceptional. We cannot fold this hotel at all being an adult. Only hotel meant it was incredibly quiet and we were able to have the relaxing break. We were very much hoping for.

Very nice winter coat stolen from room. Management tries to help. The issue remains and someone in housekeeping took a shine to it and it is gone. Otherwise, nice place, good restaurants, Pools, location, clean, quiet. No beach. Management needs to root out theft. Apologies and shrugged shoulders won’t do. This is not acceptable.

Firstly the preferred club option wasn’t clear on booking so we were very surprised that the picture you see of the hotel on the website is the area only for preferred guest. That is false advertising. Saying that, even though they tried to sell us a preferred room on check in for an extra €40 pp per night (B&B) we didn’t think it would be worth the money as there are still plenty of pools and lovely areas to sun bathe with beautifully maintained planting areas but the pools are cold. The rooms are of a good size with a huge very comfortable bed!! The balconies were big enough for a small tables and two chairs. We stayed on a B&B basis which we liked as we like going for a walk in the evening into the marina which is a 10 minute walk along the seafront and try different restaurants and we heard from other guests that the food was a bit hit and miss in the hotel. Breakfast had a lot on offer but it was exactly the same every day! The entertainment wasn’t much to write home about. An hour of singing or dancing in the lobby in the evening and 2 girls that stood by the main pool to see if they had any takers for aqua aerobics, we didn’t even realise that’s what they were there for, only on our last day did they walk around the pool to try to drum up interest. The staff is amazing though, they couldn’t do enough for you and they were always smiling with a cheery hola! When you met any of them.

We have just arrived back (9/4/24) from a week stay in Secrets Resort and Spa in Lanzarote. When booking this we were told this was a 5 star resort and we considered it worth the money which we spent over £2.5k with £1.2k all inclusive on top on arrival for all inclusive. This was not even the top band (preferred club). On arrival the hotel looked lovely, we decided since I am 26 wks pregnant that we would upgrade our stay to all inclusive for convenience even though I wouldn't be able to make use of the drinks package I was happy to do so. This was a massive regret. Our main reason for this was the walk to the main port is around 10 minutes and down some steps so we thought it would be easier to have choices within the complex. We ended up eating out twice due to the lack of quality! Let me start with positives. The spa was excellent, all be it an additional cost (which at a 5 star should be included in the price). We spent around 60-90 minutes each day here enjoying the facilities and the staff within the spa were brilliant, they really couldn't do enough for you. As well as this the evening entertainment was not bad either however if you were to stay for 2 weeks the same entertainment was back again for the second week. The food at the hotel was no more than 3 star quality. Please find attached a review of each restaurant we attended within this complex: Portofino: Let's start on a positive. A very basic but edible restaurant which we ended up visiting 3 night in our 7 night stay. We sampled the pasta and pizza options which were nice however lacking a 5 star quality you would find elsewhere. The lasagne was bland however the pizza was nicely prepared, not worth the price charged however. Bluewater Grill: This restaurant is meant to be a steak and meat restaurant. My husband opted for the steak which was a cheap cut of meat, chewy to eat and in his words "the worst steak i've ever eaten". We decided not to stay for dessert here as the quality of this restaurant was just so poor. I did leave feedback on their app regarding this. Oceana: A seafood restaurant that clearly don't know how to good seafood. The cod dish I chose was clearly frozen and the fish had a smelly odour. Being pregnant I did not want to risk this. My husband got the scallops for starter which was butchered and rubbery along with the sea bass for his main. The sea bass was poorly cooked with soggy skin and the potatoes to accompany it were soggy and in-edible. Again we left swiftly after this meal and went to the buffet restaurant for chips as we were starving! World Cafe: The buffet choices were very limited and a lack of utensils meant there were cross contamination of food when selecting them to your plate. I seen the same options in the world cafe than i did at some of the restaurants which was disappointing as it didn't make the restaurants seem premier. For a 5 star resort I was expect a lot more from the buffet, it was at best a 3 star. We didn't even bother with the sushi restaurant as my husband was too nervous to try after the other mishaps. The pool bar was only accessible for non preferred guests between 11am - 12pm and 3pm - 6pm. The food here was better than others but with limited timing it wasn't ideal to make our holiday relaxing. Additionally I would like to mention there was a lack of service around the pool from staff, only once did we have our order taken around the pool and brought to us. The resort facilities were limited and the aqua fit was not running on 2 of the first days we arrived. We overheard another couple ask about the classes to which the girl had stated it was her first day. I think this doesn't warrant a 5 star for the hotel on offer. I really think the advertisement of 5 star on your website for this hotel is excessive and should be reviewed. This was a false 5 star resort and at best would be a 4 star taking in consideration the facilities, service and quality of food.

Dear Chazderi5, Regarding the concerns raised we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced during your recent stay. After reviewing our records, we did not find any inquiries made by you during your stay regarding this matter or any other issue. We understand that tastes vary among guests, but we are confident in the quality and selection of our food, as evidenced by the overwhelmingly positive feedback we receive. We regret that your dining experience did not meet your expectations. Had you reached out to us during your stay, we would have been more than willing to accommodate your preferences by arranging a personalized menu or refunding the amount paid for the upgrade, reverting you back to bed & breakfast. Unfortunately, without your feedback, we were unaware of the situation and therefore unable to address it promptly and in the end, you kept using the all-inclusive services. It's important to us that all guests have a memorable and enjoyable experience, and we encourage open communication to resolve any concerns. We regret any misunderstanding and remain committed to providing exceptional service to all our guests. Kind regards, Alejandro Borges, Assistant Guest Experience Manager.

A really wonderful holiday at this Adults Only resort. No noise whatsoever from the reputed building works over the road, so no concerns at all on that front. However, we arrived to our Preferred Club room to find it overlooking a car park; I complained and they moved us to an Ocean View Room for another £100 for the week. The view was outstanding but I did think it was a shame we were not warned/informed about the car park view when we booked the original room.

Positives: - [ ] Great welcome, friendly and informative. - [ ] Clean and spacious room. - [ ] Variety of restaurants with good selection of food. Service was always excellent. - [ ] Good location, enjoyed short walk to marina and longer to Puerto del Carmen. - [ ] Hire a car from the marina - a fraction of the cost of hiring at the hotel. - [ ] Mini bar topped up every day. - [ ] Plenty of sunbeds so no need to rush down in the morning! Negatives: - [ ] Almost too quiet, no sign of the supposed activities during the day. Evening entertainment was ok but only for an hour and held in a very formal feeling lounge. - [ ] Lots of restrictions about where and when you can eat. Not sure what the ‘preffered’ thing was about. All inclusive should mean just that. - [ ] Additional cost to use the spa and gym. - [ ] Sunbeds need updating. - [ ] TV didn’t work in the room. - [ ] Such a waste that the bar by the sea is only for certain guests, rarely open and never busy. All in all a very pleasant stay and would recommend. Thank you to the marvellous staff.
