It's very far from berjaya and other place, shuttle available to berjaya every hour but staff will recommend on RM5/pax taxi (drove by own staff) for more flexible time. The condo did sell drinks but no alcohol. Last shuttle van back from berjaya is 10pm so...we never had a chance to stay at berjaya later than that. The condo itself is very old. But their bed, air con, hot water is still good and well functioning. We made multiple requests for towel, shampoo, bodywash but was told at last shampoo & bodywash was out of stock! So please bring every amenities on ur own, including toothpaste etc. Breakfast at selesa is normal. First day we had toast and cheese (I don't eat cheese so they gave sunny sideup), 2nd day due to malay festival they have nicer feast for guest eg. fried noodle rice & rendang chicken. Selesa can help to organize snorkelling and other activities. marine park is indeed beautiful and has lots of Nemo! There is a secret path next to Selesa which lead to a beautiful white sand beach. We spend our romantic morning and evening at the private beach! Beware of monkey but not harmful.

For the price you pay, given the relative remoteness of the island - we simply couldn't have expected much more! The rooms were clean and spacious, the A/C worked just fine and there was drying space on the balcony for wet/sandy post-beach clothes. The staff were all super friendly and answered any questions we had (would even go above and beyond at times to help us - I think partly because the hotel was very quiet at the time of our stay). Only improvement I would suggest is to make it clear to customers that a car/ute will pick them up from the ferry terminal upon arrival. (You end up paying for it *R30* I think? for pick up and drop off on your day of departure). There are heaps of taxis/people offering rides when you arrive - which we initially refused. After setting off walking, we were stopped by locals who ended up calling the hotel for us for them to come and get us (they had come to meet us off the ferry but we didn't know to look for them so they left assuming we had missed the ferry etc). Overall, we had a terrific time on Tioman and had no problems whatsoever staying at Selesa!

The staff is very friendly and welcoming. However, the hotel is quite run down and looks very eerie; lifts do not work, room was old and it smelled quite bad, old furniture, dirty floors. The breakfast is average. It is quite far from Kampung Tekek and you would need your own transport to get around easily. Transportation services are provided by the hotel but it is not free of charge. RM5 would be charge every drop off, which is quite pricey. So, renting a bike may be a good option. 15 minutes walk to the beach which was the best thing here.

This hotel is in a location which has so much potential. The views are stunning, and the size of rooms (we stayed in a family room with 2 bedrooms, living room, kitchen.) was way cheaper than we expected for anything on Tioman Island. Situated about a 10-min walk from a beautiful stretch of beach (Old turtle sanctuary), the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious but clean and the view is great. Unfortunately, when we were there the chef went on strike and breakfast was modest at best. The lift wasn't working, and the balconies were dusty with branches fallen in. The strucural integrity of the block seemed like it was it hadn't been maintained. The property at present has all the looks of a once-glorious establishment that has suffered from poor maintenance. When arriving at the island, this property is such a standout landmark sitting at the top of a forested reef, similar to what we'd see along the amalfi coast in Italy.

Staff and service were great. Breakfast was acceptable for the price that we paid. Lots of noises in the night from air-con. The hotel was close to empty when we got there and it is very quiet. It is quite a distance from the jetty and isolated from everywhere else. You either need to rent a motorcycle, a bicycle or walk. By motorcycle is it takes about close to 10 minutes so a walk would take much much longer. Not to mention it does not have WIFI other than at the reception area. Also there were a lot of paranormal activities going on when we were there so go at own risk.

There is a hotel that is badly situated and is totally run down. It is badly in need of repairs but it is obvious that the owners do not have money to do the basic things. I have to mention that the staff is amazing, friendly and helpful. The swimming pool and the lovely view of the sea are the only 2 things nice to say about this place. Luckily there is also a free shuttle that brings you to the edge of town where there are 2 restaurants; Chinese seafood and local Malay. Please note that you need to get off Tekek ferry station, and notify Selesa beforehand so that a shuttle will pick you up. Note that wifi is not available in the room, TV doesn't work too. All in all, stay away.

Place is okay but not as good as they are describing on the website. On their website, they say it is a minute walk from the beach which is a lie. One has to walk 12 to 15 minutes to reach the beach and it's not a straight walk. The path is made of uneven stones with slopes therefore hard for the elderly. We had problems with breakfast as they ran out of hot chocolate on the first day. On the second day they ran out of tea. The staff were friendly but clearly have not been trained. They all had to come two to three times to take our order and yet they will bring the wrong things. We had to wait a long time to get our toast and even then the butter would come 5 minutes later. They would bring our coffee but the milk and sugar would come after 10 minutes. The first two days they had NO milk so they gave us Condense milk, so if you're diabetic then black coffee is the only option for you. Breakfast was bad but we had no choice as the only package they offer is with breakfast. When I complained to the manager of the bad breakfast, his response was "you are more than welcome to leave a bad review on the website" but he didn't do anything about it. They clearly don't know the meaning of a continental breakfast as there were NO fruits, NO juices, NO baked beans and on top of that they only tell you they don't have these items 20 minutes after taking your order. One morning we met another guest of the hotel while having breakfast. She ordered cornflakes, looked at us and said it's easier this way so they don't get confused. It's ridiculous that she paid for breakfast but still has to compromise just because the staff and management are incapable of delivering on what was said they would. I am going on about breakfast but you expect a decent breakfast when you pay for it just as you would when you go in any restaurant. In the room half of the light bulbs were not working and they had no spare bulbs. Our room's bathroom sink tap was not working even though I informed them on the first day of my 6 day trip it was not fixed at any point. Shocking among all the things is their food price. We ordered taugeh (bean sprout) and broccoli as vegetables dishes, thinking it cannot be more then 10 to 13 ringgit as their side dishes were average that price. BUT they charged us 20 RINGGIT each and rice price was separate. We also ordered fish and chips; we were told our dinner was going to be ready by 7:30 pm. We received all our vegetables and rice by 8:30 pm. NO sign of our fish n chips. At 8:45 pm we went to inquire about it and they said it would be 10 more minutes. At 9 o'clock, the staff knocked on our door saying there is NO FISH N CHIPS. We were shocked! Surely you would know there was no fish and chips in the kitchen at the time of ordering - baring in mind we ordered our meal at 5:30 pm. We the ended up ordering another dish and ate at 9:30 pm. Exactly 2 hours after we were supposed to eat. The next day when I mentioned it to the manager, he said put it on the review. Oh my god....... Again when I raised a concern about the 20 ringgit bean sprouts to the second manager who came on the 4th day of our stay he gave an excuse that it's expensive in the warehouse. Dear readers, if you go to Berjaya resort five star hotel, where free shuttle runs every hour from Selesa apartment, you can get a complete meal for 20 RINGGIT complete with rice, vegetables and a salad. Selesa apartment doesn't even have a proper dining area. We had our breakfast in the reception area where they have a low down table and a few sofas. They have an outside seating area (very dirty tables) under the trees, where we sat on the last day. It was so windy and were given paper plates and paper cups. It was so windy, we had to hold our plates and cups as we attempted to eat. They served watermelon on the last 2 days of our stay. The wind was so strong that it knocked our coffee out of our hands and it spilled everywhere. It was a disaster. It was under the trees so all the bits from the trees were falling in our food. In the end some of us decided to sit inside in the reception area. Despite so many suggestions on reviews for improvement they have not improved. Despite I made a point then and then to tell them what we are not happy about both managers were not bothered and always had lot of silly excuses which felt like they were thinking we were fools. Vegetarian option is available on their website but they always made a point to tell us every time we order "we will do you a favor and do it specially for you." There was NO GOOD WILL GESTURE for any of the bad service. In fact I felt like they charged me more for the vegetables (bean sprout, broccoli) just to get back at me for raising so many of their bad points. The first manager kept saying, "I understand what you are saying, please feel free to write a review about it." In reality, he sounded like he didn't care. On the last two days he wouldn't even speak to us or look at us. So in short, we didn't complain about the paper plates and cups flying in the wind. But come on isn't it common sense to serve food on proper plates on a windy day???????? CONCLUSION - BOTH MANAGERS DID NOT CARE. Why hire them? Also, they say they have WIFI and TV connection in all of the rooms. LIE!!!!! The only TV that worked was in the reception area. the only place the WIFI worked was in reception as well and even then it barely worked!! We came to realise the WIFI only worked when you were the only one in reception using it. NOT ACCEPTABLE!! Lastly, if you are not fussy about travelling 15 minutes every meal time and every time to go to beach then this place is okay. Although after our experience I fully would NOT recommend this place to stay for anyone!!!!!

We loved our stay at the Selesa Tioman Condo hotel. From the food to the staff members, everyone made sure that our Tioman stay was excellent. This is not a hotel proper but rather like flats with excellent beach view and a pool!! The only time it felt like a hotel when we were having our breakfast and dinner buffet (excellent choices in both). As for the room, it was well maintained. Our room had two bedroom, two bathroom a large sitting area, a small veranda and a very functional kitchen. There were cutlery and dishes present, which we used for evening food. The view from the balcony was fabulous, if it wasn't for the monkeys, we could have spend the whole time there!! Yes, there is a monkey problem in the hotel and you are strictly warned of that. The room beside ours, a large family, had two suites and they were shifting luggage from one to another. And in that short time, a monkey entered the room and stole fruits from the kitchen counter (it is at the entrance)!! My husband had kept the balcony door open for hardly 2 min when one entered the living area and stole a packet of half finished chips!! Yes, communicating to the hotel is an issue; but they offer free shuttle to Berjaya lobby, and from there u get free shuttle to the city or to the gate (the condos are part of the Berjaya resort area and it is huge). There wer two excellent restuarants just outside the gate of the Berjaya that are affordable and very tasty. They pack your food, so if you don't have dinner included in your package, you can buy from here. (We tried only the chinese one on the left from the resort gate). The pool was well maintained and your breakfast and dinner are by the poolside, there is no restuarant room as such. The chef were very nice, they came and asked how we liked the food. We also arranged our day tour of the island as well as snorkeling trip from the reception. One thing you should keep in mind, if you are eating pork or drinking alcohol in your suite, use plastic plates and glasses and not the dishes provided by the hotel. I found that very great that though Malaysia is a muslim majority country, they allowed such things for visitors. And you should not break that trust and respect their wishes. And free wifi is present only in the reception and lobby area. Good speed, so keep all ur posts ready and upload them from the lobby!! Thanks for reading my rather long review!!!

Staff: Was very accommodating. Hooked us up with snorkeling gear when we went to the private beachReception by the name of Nazalina was the best. Extremely sweet and really helpful. She changed our room when requested and helped us with non-hotel matters. Rooms: No wi-fi or cable. The view is not great unless you are in certain rooms in the middle of the property. Location: Access to a private beach. My and my gf were able to spend some quiet time there and it was great not having anyone else there. Far from Tekek which means you have to rely on transportation at all times.

PROS; Peaceful and quiet, a good distance from Tekek. Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful rooms and included ; air con in each room, fridge, nice showers and a deck with a lovely view. Decent food available, Inc. Free breakfast Private beach just down the road. Nice pool. We LOVED that the management acknowledged and respected the Islamic beliefs of its workers and asks guests to not consume pork or alcohol with any of their cups utensils etc, and adjusted transport for guests to give staff time for prayer. CONs; WiFi was only in the main lobby The distance to shops etc may be a hassle for some but we loved it!
