Excellent hotel and facilities just a shame we couldn’t enjoy it like we’d hoped. We stayed back in July 2023 and my husband felt unwell and was admitted to hospital with severe pneumonia, he was in intensive care for 10 days. We had to extend the stay until he was eventually discharged and well enough to fly. Would just like to say how good the hotel were at accommodating me and my two young boys (one with autism) during peak season. We were moved to another room for the extended period. It was one of the most stressful situations I’ve had to deal with on what should have been a relaxing family break. Raquel (manager) and her team did their best to support and accommodate us providing initial information on hospitals, sorting out taxis etc, very grateful and highly recommended this resort it general. It’s a well run resort, the staff are all lovely, great food, facilities and entertainment club.

The reception staff at the hotel are lovely, very helpful thankfully speaking excellent English.
The rooms,
we had a bungalow, suitable for four people, by the pool and kids club, good location for us, the beds were really hard and uncomfortable, the beds in the seating area only suitable for children, the kitchen area is poor, with only one socket available, the rooms were kept really clean with regular towel changes.
The pool Area,
the pool is lovely, we were holidaying in August when the temperature was around 39 degrees so the water was especially inviting, unfortunately the pool doesn't open until 11 am! closing at 7 pm, i am assuming that this is the life guards 8 hour shift and the hotel wont be paying any extra? many families choose to ignore the rule as they had children at boiling point and in need of the swimming pool. The lifeguard on duty for the most of our holiday didn't really move much and left people to enjoy the water with airbeds, floats etc, but on our last day the lifeguard on shift decided that there would be no floats or balls in the pool and nobody is allowed to have any fun, many of us argued that we hadn't had a problem the rest of the week, eventually reception stepped in and told him to stand down and let people carry on, this needs some clarification, Afterall the hotel reception staff must see families walking past them with inflatable beds and crocodiles...
the area around the pool could do with a good scrub, the tiled areas are slippery and the white drainage covers are very grubby, the whole area just lacking in a bit of maintenance.
my grandson cut his foot twice in the pools and my daughter cut her leg, i did report both incidents at reception where first aid was offered.

never a problem to get a sun lounger, but be mindful that the hotel opens its doors to the locals (assumption) in the afternoons and the pool area becomes very busy.

Food
we booked self catering, but after arriving at the hotel we upgraded to B&B, the breakfast was good, something for everyone.
we only ate at the restaurant a couple of times, the pizzas were lovely, drinks and food reasonably priced, the only problem with eating at the hotel was the flies and wasps, they were everywhere and a right pain, constantly wafting bugs away from your food is very off-putting, some citronella candles on the tables might help, in my opinion this ruins a lovely restaurant, eating inside was out of the question for us as there is no aircon.

This hotel is isolated, nothing nearby, the nearest shop around 20 min walk, if you plan to visit on a Self Catering basis i suggest you hire a car.
the hotel could do with a mini market on site just to stock the basics.

We arrived quite early at 11:30am and to our delight the room was ready early for which we were very grateful as this is unusual in our experience.
We had a lovely clean bungalow (31a), with a large open plan living room/diner with a small fully equipped kitchen. The room key activated AC was a definite bonus.

Outside our bungalow is a good sized patio area surrounded by trees, plants and palm trees that offered good privacy to sit outside and enjoy the surroundings.

The large pool is only a short walk from the bungalows (a few steps for us), there’s plenty of well spaced out sun-beds (free to use).

We ate at La Trattoria restaurant a few times during our stay, the food and service was exceptional, plenty of choice. The restaurant is open for a la carte lunch/dinner and guest on HB/FB basis take their meals in a separate buffet restaurant.

There is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel although this was unreliable and kept dropping the connection for long periods on both our iPhones and then suddenly reconnecting. We did have a full strength 5G (Orange) signal from this hotel.

We had a lovely relaxing holiday at this hotel in a nice quiet area and we enjoyed every minute of it. The staff were amazing and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed for 11 nights in August 2022. The hotel is made up of small apartments around the pool and grounds. Clean and spacious accommodation. There is no onsite mini market as Jet2 advertised and some of the advertised activities such as gym are within the nearby sister hotel.
The hotel sits at the top of the village and around 20 minutes walk to the supermarket. When hot its an idea to use the free train running round the village but check timings as ran between 11 and 3 then 7 and 11 when we were here.
The resort is very quiet and whilst the hotel runs a courtesy shuttle to Mahon and Punta Prima it needs to be pre booked and stops late afternoon. Punta Prima is the nearest beach but disappointing as quite smelly with seaweed.
I'd say other areas of Menorca are tricky to reach unless you hire a car.
Mahon is nice for a day trip and whilst we were here the final festival of Summer was on involving horse parades. We took the yellow catarmaran from Mahon harbour to visit the tiny island which used to be a Naval hospital built in 1777.
The hotel has entertainment at least every 2nd night which was decent enough quality. Food was ok, not great choice so if staying longer than a week its quite repetitive.
We had maid service daily but they won't move anything so clear surfaces if you want a full clean. We only had sheets chamged on day 9 and I suspect that was due to us actually being in the apartment when the cleaner turned up.
Jet2 also suggest a pool bar being open until October but whilst drinks are available during the day there wasn't a pool bar open you just order from the restaurant. There was a little white bar area that remained closed while we were there.
There are a couple of restaurants in the resort and we ate at one, The Pirate, twice. Food was reasonable and reasonably priced.
We took a taxi to the Binifedet vineyard outside Saint Lluis and enjoyed a meal and drinks there. Taxis back and forth did make it an expensive night but our choice to go.
The negatives for us was the mozzie population. Despite layering on deet every evening from head to toe, burning citronella candles and avoiding our terrace, I was bitten most days. There are a lot of trees and bushes around the hotel and we saw the equivalent of rentokil in the UK once spraying the area but feel that needed to happen more frequently. The resort is apparently bad for mozzies.
The hotel has signage up asking guests not to smoke around the pool area or oitdoor eating area and they have a designated smoking area. Sadly some guests ignored this and the hotel didn't remind guests of their policy.
Overall while we enjoyed our stay it was just too quiet for 11 days and the resort felt a little tired possibly the impact of the pandemic. Would we return? Yes but not to S'algar as just not enough to do or see.

This was out first trip abroad for nearly three years so we were looking forward to our ten night break.
The hotel is a delight with friendly staff and from what we could see satisfied guests.
We were staying in a one bedroom apartment on a self catering basis. The apartment was spacious and very clean. The bedroom was large with two beds pushed together, which were comfortable and we both slept extremely well. The downside was the kitchen, which was very small and had only one socket. Which meant that if you wanted the kettle you had to move the microwave, or the toaster, which was annoying. Also there were no tea towels and only a plastic scourer. The bathroom was roomy, but the shower was over the bath and for someone of a certain age , like me, getting in when it is slippy is awkward.
There is a nice balcony with a table and chairs. Something we liked, and I never thought I'd write this, was the safe could be used for free!
The aircon worked well and as it was very hot during our stay, was much appreciated.
The rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels provided.
We decided to take breakfast on the second day it became apparent that to cater for ourselves was too difficult. The catering was of a good standard with a good choice and plentiful.
The pool area was great with lots of sunbeds and loads of space around them.
A nice touch was the free mini buses provided, They go to Punta Prima and Mahon. You have to book them but we'll worth it. Also, there is a free road train that passes the hotel about every twenty minutes which takes you down to S'Algar, so it's handy for the supermarket trip. Also because of covid, the local shops have very sadly closed and there are just two bars remaining.
Overall, this is a great hotel, with immaculately kept grounds, friendly and helpful staff and definitely better than a 3 star rating.
One name that should be lit up in lights, is Josef, the road train driver. He brings smiles to everyone's faces. He's a great character, who's always great fun and sings at the top of his voice as he expertly takes you to your destination.
We hope to return next year.

At the risk of repeating other reviews I would just like to give a review of our weeks stay in September.

First of all the stand out feature of this hotel is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. From the moment we arrived at 8:15pm after a long journey we were greeting warmly and shown you our bungalow and importantly advised on where we could eat and how to get there. This continued throughout our stay. I cannot praise the enough.

The hotel was quiet but when we visited which meant sunbeams were always available whatever time of day. The pool was warm and cleaned daily.

Our accommodation was a bungalow which looked straight out on to the pool. It was sapcious and clean with a fridge, microwave and kettle. a freezer compartment would have been nice but that being a bit picky. we stayed bed and breakfast which I feel was a good choice as there is nowhere to get any provisions for breakfast without taking a 15 minute walk to the supermarket.

The resort, as others have said is really quiet with only two restaurants and one supermarket. However the food and beer was cheap and plentiful with lots of choice. We walked to the neighbouring village for a meal (at piccolos) which made a change but you need to book. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant until the last night which was a mistake as it was probably the best meal we had. Well worth trying out. The buffet breakfast was good but we didn't use the buffet evening meal, just the restaurant.

The free road train that circles the resort stopping at the three AluaSun hotels was a god send when you have heavy shopping or you do not fancy the 15 minute walk back up the hill after a night out. It runs every 25 minutes and proved very useful once we worked out the timings at the stops.

Others have commented on the ease of buses to Mahon, which is well worth a visit.

The only thing that would benefit the hotel would be a small shop or mini market where you could buy bread, water etc rather than having to trek to the village supermarket.

All in all, a throughly relaxing break and would highly recommend for the price.

Everything was wonderful from the comfy beds, great shower with bath, magnifying mirror, full length mirror, washing up packs every detail was thought about. We were poolside in a one bed apartment with kitchen. We had our own sun beds too. Grounds are immaculate, staff very helpful & house keeping done very discreetly so as not to intrude.

We loved this hotel. It felt relaxed and quiet even in peak of August. All staff were really friendly and helpful (with exception of one lifeguard who seemed not to want anyone to play games in the pool). It feels very safe at the hotel and my children age 10 and 6 had a brilliant time at the pool and with the kids club team who were always so enthusiastic and happy to see them. I enjoyed aqua gym which is every evening at 6.15, a nice happy end to the day then drying off watching the children have fun at a short mini disco.
The area is nice and quiet but the hotel provides free bookable transfers to Binibeca and Punta Prima and dropped us off at Splash waterpark too. You can get a bus to Mahon directly outside the hotel. We stayed 10 days and hired a car for 2 to get to the zoo and for a trip around the north of the island.
We used the sister hotel for entertainment in the evenings but AluaSun also had performers through the week.
Breakfast was great and we ate at the hotel a couple of times for dinner which was delicious. There is only one restaurant in town but you can use the other hotel too.
Apartment was clean and updated, there was a free safe to use, pool and all facilities were clean and maintained. I’d definitely go back.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. Pool area large and good sun beds. Ate at the restaurant a few times. Food was good. The room was satisfactory. A little tired but clean and comfortable beds. Quiet. The resort itself is very quiet and obviously hit by lockdowns. Aside from the hotels there are only 2 restaurants which were fine and we used more than once. Aside from that we used restaurants in Mahon. You could eat at the other Aluasun hotels but exactly the same menu to where we stayed so no point. Prices to bus to Mahon€1.80 and 20 mins bus ride to the centre so good value and very regular. Picks up right outside the hotel. There is a land train from the hotel the the other restaurants and very small mini market but over our 10 night say it was out of action for 6 days.
It's a 15 minute walk down hill which is quite pleasant but if you want heavy items it's back up hill, unless you catch the land train. All in at hotel good but general resort very quiet and you need to get about the island
