after extensive travel abroad I decided that I deserved a home break away from the hustle and bustle of foreign climes, I hired a caravan on the Acorn camping site and found it relaxing and peaceful place to be and unwind from everyday life and it certainly worked

My husband and I stayed here last weekend as my son, daughter-in-law and grandsons live in Llantwit, however they have a small house and we have purchased an Autosleeper so they recommended it. They use the cafe often as it’s open to the public with a lovely little play area. It’s a great little site, toilets and showers clean and never too busy, well kept site. Close to town for supplies and the coast. I envisage this being our go to place when visiting the family for the future. Thank you. P.s. lovely to see a dog friendly site with people respecting that.

My family of 2 adults and daughters aged 14 and 10 enjoyed our stay here. The campsite owners are a friendly, helpful couple who did everything to make our stay enjoyable. The youngest loved the play area and games room and the rest enjoyed watching from the cafe. Left my iceblocks in my freezer at home but they kindly lent me some. They were knowledgeable about the area and let me know the route to the beach. Our pitch was in a lovely sheltered spot with hedges on 3 sides and an oak tree. Unfortunately a couple of nights after arrival storm Francis hit and the lovely oak tree finished off our tent when a small branch fell down and punctured the roof. We were sad to have to go early.

Stayed here for 3 nights with two young children. Pitch sizes were good. Not huge, but fit our family tent with awning. Some pitches are bigger than others I think. Toilet block was good, reasonably clean. My only complaint is it was closed at night and still not reopened at 7 in the morning. Not sure if that is every night or if there was a reason on that individual night. Play area was good, quite small but suitable for children of different ages. Games room was good. The things are a bit out dated but didn't bother the kids. Cafe was fantastic. Definitely worth a visit. I like that they have a little area set up for toddlers too. Shop was useful for bits and bobs, but you couldn't rely on it to make meals for your stay. Over all, we had a lovely stay and would go back again. It was a nice size site, with lots of good features.

Stayed here with friends and family for a week and found it a very friendly and clean site. Site goes quiet at 11pm and everyone near us complied. The shower block is clean and during this pandemic cleaned very regularly with social distancing measures in place. The pitch was large which means it was big enough for us to put a gazebo up between my tent and my friends caravan. Great area surrounding the site a short walk (20 mins) to rocky beach with cafe and approx same into town where there are take aways and supermarkets. We will definitely be back.
