Relax and enjoy the stunning sunsets on Lake Bunyonyi from the veranda of your cottage! We provide full board and make you feel at home. Highlights are visiting the Batwa people, birdwatching, gorilla tracking, canoe or motorboat safaris and more. Amasiko is an eco friendly social enterprise and with our profits we finance charity projects to support the rural community.

We had the pleasure of staying at this homestay during our trip. What struck us was the ease of arrival, even when we arrived late in the afternoon. The homemade food provided was truly delightful. Nestled at a beautiful spot, we spent the night with our rooftop tent and enjoyed a splendid view of the lake. Our time here was truly enjoyable, and the owner was extremely kind and informative. In fact, during the off-season, he managed to secure a last-minute Gorilla tracking permit for us through his connections. It's essential to note that this is a homestay, not a luxurious hotel, so the facilities are simple and functional. We liked it! The warm, family-like atmosphere won us over, and we highly recommend this accommodation.

We were like at home. Wilfried was very kind and opened his home to us. The meals that his wife cooked for us were delicious. Nice place, just next to the coast. We spent great three days there. I recommend to stay there.

Two gray crowned cranes (national bird of Uganda and pretty rare, to my understanding) live in the trees above the dock. I also saw otters and bats. The shower has hot water, heated by a wood fired furnace. Wilfried and his family prepared meals and ate together with me. The rooms are situated in a magical eucalyptus forest with beautiful views of the lake. The dock is just a short walk from the rooms. I sat out on it for hours just watching and listening to the nature around the lake. It’s a very quiet area of the lake. Google sends you on a route that is impassable coming from the north or east. Even the correct road is rough enough that you’ll want at least a RAV4, and hard enough to figure out that I’d recommend having them send a boda driver to guide you for 15,000 UGX.

We had a lovely stay at Amasiko! Wilfried, Agnes, Irene and the rest of the staff took really good care of us. Beautiful views from our two cottages and great swimming. There is limited solar electricity but that was not a problem for us, it was part of the experience, just as the lovely hot showers that came from a tank heated by a wood fire. The food which was really good, both the breakfasts and the dinners. We enjoyed these beautiful dinners with the other guests in the cosy dining room. Thank you!!

we were three people who visited and were quite impressed with how generous the owners were. It truly gives a homely feel and the food is simple yet scrumptious. Highly recommended if you want to get away from all the noise of city life!

This off the beaten path gem was one of the highlights of our time in Uganda. We did it on local transport which makes for an adventure - boda boda around the lake. The promontory location makes it very private and all cabins have great views west over Lake Bunyoni. The swimming is fabulous and there are also great walks up the mountain behind for great views down the entire length of the lake. Owner Wilfred and wife Irene, together with their lovely staff, will ensure that your stay is as relaxing as possible. Food was excellent, alternating a vegetarian day with a meat day. Hot water heated with Eucalyptus wood and solar power work well. The birdlife is abundant and the bats provide a dramatic show in the evening. Thank you all, a great three day stay.

Great place with very nice views. Owners very friendly and nice people. Was a pity we couldn't stay more time (we need it more days to enjoy it). It is near a school. Very good breakfast with home made iogurt

The staff of Irene and Wilfrey were fabulous and friendly. Had great bonfire and barbecue with other guests in the evening which was really fabulous experience. Profits go to support a school and sustainable farming set up by owners. Unfortunately, the place is fairly run down and could do with a bit of TLC e.g. the swimming jetty is damaged, some rooms leak, the barbecue area is untidy. Also there are no lights or toilets in the rooms which could have been made more obvious in the room descriptions online. They give you a solar lamp for the evening. Food is also quite expensive ($35 full board) and although big portions it is quite bland and all the bread was completely stale. A little effort could turn this place from a pleasant but uncomfortable experience into something really world-class.…

Simple room with large balcony with an amazing view over the lake. Quiet, only the birds. A fire place with seats on the lake front. A jetty if you wish a swim. Breakfast and dinner are delicious, with many vegetables and fruits grown in the garden. Wilfried is extremely welcoming, sharing meals with the guests. The staff is discreet and supportive. The surroundings are so quiet. No traffic on the road allowing pleasant hikes with panoramic views over le lake. We stayed five nights, and it was difficult to make up our minds to leave.

Thank you Wilfried and staff for two amazing hospitable overnights! Since it's an eco accommodation not all of the lodges have electricity (yet) - which makes it special we found. However the places are comfortable and clean. Also the bathroom facilities add to that, eco-toilet and outdoor shower with hot water on request. Its quite a drive to/from Kabale and there are no shops close by which is why its recommended to join breakfast and other meals at the lodge. A few choices are offered for breakfast; lunch and dinner are set; We very much enjoyed the homey atmosphere. Beautiful views of Lake Bunyonyi from the lodge and surrounding area. Possibility of different walks/hikes in the area, canoeing, visiting the school next door which is one of the local projects of the lodge's owner. Secluded escape - highly recommended! We'd love to come again for another visit!…
