Stayed in the Garden room off the pub garden. Lovely size living area. Shower room was a bit cool but everything you needed. Bedroom was really good size. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was tasty. Staff friendly and helpful. 4 miles from Cragside.

Lovely pub in the heart of Rothbury with good sized beer garden. Went for lunch for service with friendly & a lovely pub. Food (lunch) let it down though and burger was very greasy and tasteless. Would recommend in general.

Hi Claire Thank you got your feedback, were you in on the 25th? We’d like to look back and see what went wrong with our burger. We make them ourselves & the steak is from our (award winning) local butcher on the high street so a bit disappointing that we got this wrong, but we will look into it. Thanks again. For your visit & feedback :)

We can fully recommend this family / dog friendly Inn to anyone. Good value for money, Staff and management are awesome and really helpful - food is fantastic + the location is ideal for visiting all of Northumberland and more. Do not expect a 3 to 4☆ Hotel, but the bonus is, during this enforced closure for sorting out the Virus, I am led to believe, the Inn is going to be touched up.

Stayed couple of nights for quick break. Great friendly service behind the bar from Esther. I noticed Esther did make the locals keep quiet when it was late. Food was fine. The Garden room was spacious. The locals are friendly.

We stopped here for two nights and really enjoyed ourselves, however there were good and bad points, the bad points were the room needed some upgrading, (room 2) if you were fussy it may not be for you, but we didn't mind too much, it was only a base for us to explore the wonderful countryside, and we feel the price reflected this and were happy, the staff were really friendly and very polite, the evening meal was lovely, we both had pie, couldn't fault it at all, served by a lovely young lad called Taylor, he was a credit to the establishment, the morning breakfast was also faultless, the beer was well kept and was nice to be sat by a roaring fire, all in all we had a great time and would definitely go back
