Our guest house evocates its past; it was the former girls' school of the charming village of Penne d'Agenais. Our house is situated in the middle of the village, so that our guests can enjoy the village life and its craftmanship shops and restaurants. Le courtyard, witness of laughs and plays of generations of children, offers a wonderful sight on the Lot river valley. The medieval village of Penne d'Agenais, on the road to the pilgrimage of Saint Jacques of Compostelle, is ideal for amateurs of History, Art, hiking and French South-Western gastronomy. Our guest house is affiliated to the 'Gîtes de France' network and, since October 2013, our rooms have been rated four 'épis'. Since July, a swimming pool is now at the disposal of our honoured guests.

A wonderful chambre d’hôte. Lovely and relaxed atmosphere, a unique property, a charming location, and very attentive and friendly hosts. I would have stayed longer if could, and would not hesitate to come again. In fact I’m sure I will. Best regards to Jerome & Co if they read this!

This is the first time we have stayed in a Chambre d'Hote. In its favour:
Large comfortable bed, spacious room and bathroom with excellent shower. First class breakfast with homemade jams and tarts as well as fresh squeezed orange juice. Comfortable garden with spectacular views. Adequate parking outside and just three minutes walk to three good restaurants. Against; nothing that comes to mind. The pricing seemed reasonable to us.

Jerome Penot and his guest house, Le Preau de l'Horizon, come with a very excellent recommendation from me and my family. We and other friends of the bride stayed here during a destination wedding. Jerome is a very cordial, helpful, and an outstanding and accommodating host to the fullest meaning of host. He prepared a wonderful daily breakfast which consisted of an assortment of fresh breads, homemade apricot jam, fresh squeezed OJ, other fresh fruits and nuts, various cereals, and coffee brewed to perfection. We would highly recommend Le Preau de l'Horizon which is in a very relaxing and beautiful location with spectacular views of the Penne region from the back of the guest house.

Stayed here to visit family and friends in the area. Jerome and Claire are perfect hosts with accommodation that is great for a relaxing time in a friendly and welcoming environment. Super fresh breakfasts each day, comfortable rooms and a horizon pool to refresh in. This is a place to enjoy not just to sleep at.

We stayed here recently for one night whilst walking the GR652. What a great find in a superb find just outside the fortified village. The old school has been transformed into a wonderful and extremely comfortable Maison d'Hotes. The view from the terrace and garden was magnificent overlooking the valley and the room was very spacious and most comfortable. Breakfast was a delight and the owners, Claire and Jerome were very helpful and interesting. We also enjoyed a very good dinner at le Bombecul, recommended by Jeromes mother. We would happily stay again and recommend to others.

We stayed two nights in this excellent guest house that was once the village school. The owner, Jerome, made us very welcome and had cold beers ready for us on the terrace when we arrived on a sweltering afternoon. We booked the largest room, Histoire-Geo, and it was really big with an even bigger bathroom with a very efficient shower as well as a large bath.
There are four rooms and they all open out onto a long terrace from which you have a marvellous view out over the valley. There is plenty of parking in the road in front of the hotel or you can drive down a lane and park at the side. The hotel is a short stroll from the centre of the charming town of Penne where the cafe/restaurant La Peyragude serves excellent food. Once you drive up through the square and turn to the hotel you are in the one-way system and the only way out is down to the valley and up to this hill town again!
Breakfast is served on the terrace or in one of the old school rooms and is good with freshly baked bread and we had some cake baked for us by the owner's son.
An excellent place to stay for a few days while you explore this lovely part of France.

We had the pleasure of staying at Le Preau de l’Horizon for 5 nights during a trip to Penne d’Agenais for a destination wedding. Our family booked all five rooms and Jerome and Claire were very accommodating with all our requests. It felt like we had our own private guesthouse in paradise!
The guesthouse was perfect:-
The location – a short walk to the beautiful village and restaurants.
The view – amazing.
The rooms – so much care and attention has been put into decorating the rooms. We stayed in the L’Histoire-Geo room, both the bedroom and bathroom were extremely spacious and spotlessly clean.
The property – the terrace, the patio and pool all overlook the stunning view and are perfect for relaxing.
The breakfast – fresh, homemade and tasty.
The hosts – Jerome and Claire were extremely welcoming and their hospitality was exceptional. They were always happy to help and do whatever was required to make our stay comfortable.
Our stay at Le Preau de l’Horizon exceeded our expectations and we would love to return.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Le Preau de L'Horizon. The room was extremely comfortable and the view was amazing. Jerome made us a delicious home made breakfast with every attention to detail. Sadly we were only able to stay one night but we will be back and thoroughly recommend this lovely place

We spent four days in the room Buissonnière. Jérôme told us that this room had been a painter's atelier which explains why the room is extremely huge. It is very comfortable as well which is perfect when you are a family of three kids. The room is very stylish and decorated with a lot of taste. The view on the valley is magnificent when you get up in the morning and open the windows.
Not to forget the host, Jérôme, who is extremely kind and warm. You can feel that this guest house is a life dream coming true. This is probably the reason why everything is so perfectly arranged. Personnally, I admired Jérôme's flower decorations.
The food is amacing, too. I loved the breakfast with homemade cakes, pancakes, etc. The dinner is spendid as well. This guest house is a place where you are just longing to come back - so we immediatement booked for next year's holiday which we have never done before!
